Thank you for doing all of this, Hans Zimmer’s use of timbre is the best
Im so happy that I finally got to see him performing live on this tour!!! Awsome soundtrack :D
I remember first listening to the Dune score very briefly having been obsessing over Hans is other scores and studying them at the time, not taking a liking to it because it was so different. And it is. So different. I started watching this video the other day in the background whilst doing some work and I was MESMERISED by the sounds. Forward to 48 hours later, I had watched the movie twice, the second time even better than the first… and now. I have just finished this video and the detail is immense. I appreciate your work and explanation and passion in the same amount that Has appreciates his musicians. As I am just starting out in this music world, I learn a great amount from these videos. Thanks Ashton and many blessings!!
Your channel is grossly underrated, Ashton. May the algorithm bless you. Really appreciate your content.
Totally deserved the Oscar!
This is excellent. Going to learn a lot from this. Thank you Ashton and congrats on the new Kennedy doc!
Seeing this is my notifications just made me so happy! I cannot wait to watch/listen and dive into this video/score that I love so much.
Also, thank you so much for the time and care you put into these Behind The Score breakdowns. The effort and passion does not go unnoticed. They’re so insightful, inspiring and incredibly well put together! One of my absolute favourite channels on UA-cam.
This is hands down my favorite score of his. So glad to have you talk about all these details!

Absolutely fantastic video! One of my all time favourite stories and now movies, and my all time favourite composer of course. Your breakdown of the score is amazing - so much detail. I learned A LOT!

Great work, impressive. What's the Duduk library you are using?
1:09:35 Ashton's thoughts on miley cyrus' music
Please do also a behind the score for « The Batman ».
Thank you in advance 🙏
Really wish you could tell us more about the libraries u used
Can anyone tell me why this gets so little likes?.. Amazing channel!
Hey Ashton, great stuff as always. Actually not 100% true, as your stuff just keeps getting even better each time! With that said, it looks like you’re using a whole bunch of instances of Spaces as inserts on individual tracks, rather than using sends or having the inserts on groups. Am I getting that right?
What did you use for those bass jabs? Is that sound in the u-he Zebra/HZ stuff somewhere?
You are so talented and brilliant! You deserve far more subscribers! People can't appreciate genius when they see it! Also interested in knowing which plugin/sounds you used to create this score? You perfected Hans Zimmers score and made it more wholesome, in my opinion. I am just learning film scoring. But have been a pianist for years. Peace, love and cheers from LA!
🙏👍👍
hey Ashton could we have the logic project ?
it's for my work ,to learn the mix and the vst you use
hey man I've been Looking ALL OVER UA-cam for a month now but couldnt find anything , Can you please do a breakdown of The "Moonknight Theme". Its A very unique score and the elements is so powerful and moving, i would love to see a breakdown of that score
Dear Asthon, when I open you midi in Logic, all track names are gone. Is there any way, how can I import it properly to keep names of tracks?
thank a lot for you work and help and wish your dreams as composer become true soon :-)
Wonderful video, but how is Ashton able to use the original film footage?
UA-cam's fair use policy
If we download the midi files to get the same sounds would we have to have the plugins you have to get the same sound?
Yes you have to have the same plugins to get the exact same sound, as long as you have the right type of instrument even if it's from a different developer just pick that one instead on each instrument track and it should sound pretty decent
What music software do you use?
hes using logic
So my question is why does it sound just like the soundtracks to Homeworld 2 and Deserts of Kharak? I doubt he's "ripping off" the spirit of their music on purpose, so what's the common ancestor?
Just orientalism? I'm not complaining, it's a great sound.
I’m surprised to see that you’ve not done anything on John Williams who probably started it all and is the god father of all these newbie composers that you’ve covered.
Slow and weird movie ... I could not finish watching it
Hans Zimmer, so over rated.
