The new character the archduchess looks absolutely ridiculous and I really like it. It reminds me of the really absurd Aesthetics in the old dune films.
And all the heirs of House Ecaz are supposed to be dead by the time this game takes place. This faction is a super weird addition to the game for so many reasons.
House Ecaz still existed when the Atreides were given control of Arrakis, though Archduke Armand was the final living member of his line (his last daughter having been assassinated in what started the 2nd War of Assassins). When Paul Atreides gives his demands for the Empire to submit to him, Armand was one of the first to do so and gave his swordmaster to Paul, since he was old and his house was going to die with him.
It's not the same intro, the village names are different as is which territory the spice field is in, looks like either one was a failed run or there was a game issue
@@SemHuijgen they're pretty much the same, but then iirc the game has premade maps and starting locations, village names changed, territory changed shape, but meh, it's most likely a failed run or Pravus didn't like part of the recording, re-recorded the game play and messed up the edit a bit.
It's very unlikely House Ordos will be a faction within the game. Simply because House Ordos doesn't really exist in the Dune universe and was pretty much made up for the old Dune RTS series. The next faction to be added is House Ecaz which is a relatively minor faction that does play a role in the Dune books. However, they are keen on having factions that in other Dune games weren't really playable like The Smugglers or the Emperor, so I wouldn't be surprised if at some point we're gonna get Ix or Tleilaxu in the game, which is as close as you can canonically get to having Ordos as a faction.
Yeah, if it's following the movie/books fairly closely (which it totally looks to be), it's not going to have Ordos. Emperor: Battle For Dune was pretty awesome in that it had a bunch of minor factions like Ix and Navigator's Guild while it also has Ordos.
Looks pretty cool. I honestly haven't played these kind of games since Starcraft, but I remember there used to be a Dune game like this in the early 90's. This is probably the best way to implement Dune lore in a video game.
This makes me nostalgic for one of my favourite games when I was a teen, Emperor: Battle for Dune. I LOVED that game. i sank sooooooo many hours into it! I think I'll add Spice Wars to my Steam wishlist....see when it gets on sale!
That one truly is one of my favourites as well. The atmosphere, and especially the excellent music is awesome. I have the soundtrack on cd in my car on sometimes. The Harkonnen music was a beast, all of them! So ... mighty! I like the aesthetics as well of each of the different houses.
I think it's an absolutely brilliant game. I seen a lot of bad reviews in the Xbox store. I think personally it brought back memories from the days of the original dune battle for arrakiss and dune 2000. I think if your not aquinted with the dune universe you probably won't enjoy it.
Finally! I've been waiting for what seems like since the Butlerian Jihad for this game to come to consoles, and it's finally coming to Xbox Series this 28th! Can't wait!
Yeah... I hope those color schemes are from the books... Cause I grew on Atreidies being blue instead of green and green being the Ordos... and The Emperor sporting Imperial purple Roman style!
I always got stuck mid game, when I have enough hegemony, but then not enough shares in the CHOAM, but suddenly I become the target of all the factions in the game, they began to attack me with large numbers.
i read all the books and the ones his son wrote, prequels and sequels , i dont recall a House Ecaz either, could be from the lower lansarad idk, not familiar at anyrate..maybe im mistaken
I really liked Dune 2000 honestly would have been happy with a remake. This is pretty cool though very much more like Stellaris but that's okay. Stellaris is pretty lijit... However, where the hell is Orados faction! Literally best faction lol.
This channel has come to the point where I'm not more, but less excited to see a game I've been looking forward to, sponsoring a video here. Sorry! :((

That feels like it would fit another setting better. Dune isn't big on big turrets. And it's surprinsingly light on massive scale armies. Which is really interesting if one considers the scale of the houses and the empire and how they actually do have massive capacities for for logistics and resources. There is always this huge political game to it, where the different factions may fight each other but also know they need each other. They have to pull their punches or everyone else will gang up on them. Or worse, they'll win a ruined empire worth less than their homeworld was.
Throwback from past - Dune from 1992 was one of first RTS.
now i feel old xD
Closer to the first "Modern RTS", but significant non the less as it popularized the concept than the games before it.
@@PantherCat64 For sure, Utopia was the first one I played but I am sure there are a few older.
I still have the game on CD.
Dune II was the first RTS, yes.
The new character the archduchess looks absolutely ridiculous and I really like it. It reminds me of the really absurd Aesthetics in the old dune films.
That moment when Pravus restarted got me laughing. He forgot to edit out the first run when the ornithopter went south instead of north
Would love to see more of this!
Hey Pravus, haven't checked in on your videos for a while. Hope you and the wife are enjoying the new addition to the family! Congratulations.
Yes, House Ecaz exists in the Brian Herbert books, and he was Armand Ecaz
And all the heirs of House Ecaz are supposed to be dead by the time this game takes place. This faction is a super weird addition to the game for so many reasons.
@@LordEsel88 I think House Richese would have been better choice.

Glory to King Pravus!
Emperor pravus
It appears you've added the intro turn by accident twice at 3:44 and 4:43
It's not the same intro, the village names are different as is which territory the spice field is in, looks like either one was a failed run or there was a game issue
it looks basically the same but left top instead of right bottom. both have interest points at the same location and a spice thingy@@MrTrilbe
Glitch in the matrix

House Ordos will be DLC/Expansion.
If not, Imperial Sardaukar will be deployed to make them change their mind.

I've put about 50h into the game since beta and i've enjoyed it very much. Glad to see you enjoy it too !

@Pravus I think you made a mistake in editing? Check 3:43 + 4:43
Thank you for showing this off, I’ve been watching this on Steam for a while.
This is the most clear explainer I've seen of this game in 1.5 years of release

Why didn't I know this existed!? Why don't I have this yet!?
Happy Dad and Mom enjoyment. Thank you, for gaming.
I have to say that false start had me really confused when you started up the second time at around 4:40 of the video
I would love to see a Conquest playthrough.
This actually looks really good!
This game is surprisingly good. Fremen and Smugglers are my favourite.
i played dune 2 in sega genesis. my first rts. after than dune 2000 and a lot of c&c games.
Awesome, The spice must flow!
i foresee the start of a great series

Corrino is actually, if you trace his ancestry far enough back, is really a Harkonnen.
Well done. Concise and informative! Thanks
Okay iam confuse between 4:40 and 4:45 what happen there
he restarted and cut the video at the wrong place i guess. it happens
Praise the spies emperor
Praise the Heir! Praise Gimli!

Definitely would enjoy more of this game

time loop about 4 minute mark, just to be aware

Hold on, did he restart the game? why he talks about his base landing again and exploring in another way?
Conquest series maybe?
Omg so nostalgic
i miss the Ordos
Why the ornitopter not attackin' the militants?!
Is this related to the dune game on ps1?
Need to be on switch
How·s the AI? .
#ButlerianJihad lol
So, when Rimwolrd?
clearly northgard inspired.
Same company yup
Where are the Ordos? 😁

@Pravus could you please do a review ofthe game "Surviving the Abyss" ?
Love your content btw ❤

As a fan of Dune its hard listening to your attempts at names.
Little complicated

Dune 2000 looked better

I am not happy with this version. I want Supreme commander type maps with lots of turret defense.

I have heard of this stupid franchise my entire life. If the planet is not called Dune..why the fuck is the franchise called Dune?
