I'm not an intense work out person so I could never go to Barbell but it's so amazing to watch these videos and see where you guys started from, your passion behind opening up the gym and the community you've built. Congrats and I'm looking forward to part 2.
I really love to join the Barbell Brigade community but sadly I'm not living in the US and here in Malaysia there are mostly only the standard commercial gym and I feel like it is really demotivating because the people that goes to the gym have no goals and I totally agree with you guys. I hope I can work out at Barbell Brigade one day and I think it would feel like heaven. The only thing I can do right now is rocking out the barbell Brigade shirt and share the spirit of achieving my ultimate goal. thanks JK Films and Barbell Brigade for sharing this :)
I just gota say thank you. Lately I've been slacking trying to do higher level school, and the gym. But after seeing you two working so hard and having such dedication has put me back on track. You guys are a true inspiration.
Every time I feel like giving up on training or taking a break, watching one of your videos really get me mentally pumped up keep training. Thank you Bart and Geo for being so inspiring!
I love the focused, work hard to achieve your goals, driven, and collaborative mindset behind making barbell brigade. And its amazing that you set up a place that facilitates like minded people to gather and support each other. Its an inspiration not only for fitness but many other areas of life as well. Keep up the awesome work.
I love what you guys have made of your ambitions and goals! It keeps people like me wanting to get better, strive for a better be a better me. I love that sense of family that appears to be at barbell brigade too! Keep it up! :D
I really liked watching this because it just made me want to move to California (I live in Missouri right now) and go to Barbell because it just seems like a very friendly place to be - like a stranger could just come up to you and start giving you tips about what you should do next and how to reach your personal goal. Wow, I would really wish for a kind of gym like that here.
i wish i had that type of camaraderie around me where i workout at... it's nice to have people around you that care, and push you to become not only a better lifter, but a better person.
Honestly had no idea where to post this question, but would you guys ever consider expanding?Like bringing Barbel to other cities in America or even one day the wooooorld!I get that Barbel is your baby and I understand if you wanted to keep it local. But it sounds great to have that kind of environment and community.Especially to those who are first timers to gyms.
I've always hated going to commercial gyms and even gyms on base. It's the same shit all the time. After watching your videos about barbell brigade, you guys have inspired me to build my own gym in my garage and push myself.
You guys are an inspiration to me and god knows how many others, I'm fifteen and you guys inspired me to start working out and getting fit and now I'm like just above ten or lower percent of body fat now my goal is to try get abdominals Thank you so much
Sadly I workout at a commercial gym and sometimes I do feel hindered by it. Everyone does the same thing, people loligag and sometimes I get looks or chatter when I'm trying to hit heavier weights. But that how I grow and progress. This video was very inspirational and hopefully someday I can move to an area which has a gym like yours. Can't wait for part two.
This is awesome, even though i go to a bodybuilders gym in Australia Melbourne the gym atmosphere isnt even close to yours. If it was i would probably be in the gym for 4 hours instead of 1-2 hours lol. Congrats on the success.
watching this reminded me of how lazy i got...started lacking motivation...but you guys made me think of how weak i have gotten over the past few months...wish i could visit barbell brigade
I'm extremely jealous of you Geo that you have someone like Bart to motivate you and convince and help you to do all of that. I started paying a personal trainer $150 a month for his crossfit classes and one-on-one sessions at a similar gym like barbell, that my bf always told me he could do for me for free but never did. After about going every single day for 4 months, I couldn't afford it anymore but I saw amazing results. Even though I could still go back and do everything at my commercial gym for a fraction of the cost, I really lack the guidance and the group that was there cheering me on from before. I really wish I could go back! It was worth every penny.
I'm currently at a commercial gym, only reason I'm there is because it's the only one around at the moment that's close to my house, which is about 40 mins away. But I'm out growing it, getting so tired of seeing the same people, who aren't serious and are doing the same things everytime you go in. My lifts have doubled and are going on to triple since I've been there. It can be very demotivating sometimes. You want more like minded people
Wait until January, thats when all the people that think they will workout for their New years resolutions will come in. Should be over in about a month though.
Umm, maybe they don't want to get "BIG?" they're just there to exercise a bit to burn off some unwanted calories. If you want those body builder type niggas, then go kick it with the Steroid Users. LOL
BlueFacondor You are correct sir, the only area I use at that gym is the areas with all the weights and those people train next to me. Funny thing is I remember when I first started I was puny and kind of out of shape and I remembered seeing a guy I thought was huge, and these days I see the guy and I'm bigger than him :P
awesome gym. i really wish we have a gym like yours where we can drop weights and just be extreme. no.1 fan here. keep up the good work geo and bart! :D
I felt was Geo was saying about Teamwork and pushing people on. Because I love pushing people that I feel respect for because those people train hard and go hard, I love congratulating them. For example I saw this small dude who doesn't look like he can lift much, but he snatched a plate and he had such crisp and perfect form, I knew he practiced his form for months up to that weight. Even if it is at my commercial gym I feel its necessary to share a common goal of happiness and support.
I really wish all places were like this. a community of people who support you not because they can or will gain anything from it just because they want to. would love to go check the place out if I'm ever in LA.
so many questions for you guys... heres one, injuries, with having a constant workout on the daily, have you ever been injured? how do you work around em?
Wow this is great ! This is giving me motivation to try weight training. I've always thought that lifting weights would make a girl look manly , but that is not at all the case. Kudos to you guys! This video is great, can't wait to see part 2.
yo...this is so cool I've been trying to get stronger at my college's gym but that sense of community is missing because my friends can't make it to the gym as much as i can ( or want to go as much as i do). However, I still go and every week or 2 weeks I try to increase my weights. And it does become addicting. I really hope to find a gym like this after graduating.

Bart is such an amazing role model.
I really love to join the Barbell Brigade community but sadly I'm not living in the US and here in Malaysia there are mostly only the standard commercial gym and I feel like it is really demotivating because the people that goes to the gym have no goals and I totally agree with you guys. I felt was Geo was saying about Teamwork and pushing people on.

I definitely miss weight lifting. Squats, man I loved squats
Bart, Geo; what is the heaviest can the both of you: bench press and deadlier?
Wow. This was very inspiring.
yo...this is so cool I've been trying to get stronger at my college's gym but that sense of community is missing because my friends can't make it to the gym as much as i can ( or want to go as much as i do). However, I still go and every week or 2 weeks I try to increase my weights. And it does become addicting. I really hope to find a gym like this after graduating.
