Protips: 1. Steam the soaked beans for 10 minutes before putting them in the machine. This will completely kill off all the bitter enzymes. 2. Use a nut milk bag to strain the milk. The colander that comes with the machine is not fine enough to filter all the pulp. Once I finish straining with the nut milk bag, I use the colander to catch any skin that forms. And voila - you’ll have a silky smooth milk like store-bought except 100 times better.
machine arrived yesterday and just finished making first batch of soy milk. Very easy and turned out great only adding half the additives suggested - I think if I had added the full amount indicated, the milk would be too salty/sweet as I plan to use in both sweet an savory applications. Next I will try almond milk.
no, not at all. It heats/cooks the soybeans as it grinds and tastes very comparable to the boxed soymilk from the store. I have to say that I have taken to mostly making almond milk though. I use 2 measures of almonds and grind on Raw Juice cycle twice. I also use a nut milk bag instead of the strainer that came with the machine - faster and yields more liquid. I have also used sunflower seeds - oh my, so good!
Cor Mango What setting did you use to make the milk? Did you soak the beans overnight? We didn't think the soy milk tasted or smelled beany. I used the soaked bean setting and soaked the beans overnight. Though I usually buy Bob's Red Mill products whenever possible, I did buy the Laura Soybeans suggested by the soymilk maker...reading through the reviews on Amazon, it seems there is a difference and some beans so have a stronger beany taste than others.

So glad everything worked out and you are enjoying your new Soyajoy 4 Milk Maker.
Will you make a new G5 video?

is it not necessary to remove outer skin of soaked soy beans ?
Not necessary, but will make it creamier if you do remove the skins but less fiber.
How does it differ from a blender?
Vitamix would cook it for you, but you need to cook the raw soybeans for 10 min.
hi, I wonder why have to add sea salt, can I just add sugar or nothing ?
+romeilee That's the way many people like it. You do not have to add anything. It is personal taste. It is healthier without either.
Salt help bring out the flavor.
Supposedly the salt helps act as a preservative.
How much water to add in machine?
It is 1 3/4 liters. around 7 c. For tofu Wendy Wang added water to the bottom line and two soyajoy measure cups of beans for 1 block of tofu.
interesting equipment !!!
Why not add the salt and sugar in the soy milk maker and then blend?
Because if you want to save the okara to use, it would flavor it also.
My soybeans come tomorrow. I already have an older soymilk/soup maker!!!
Don't care for dairy anymore and soybeans have lots of calcium!!!
Can anyone tell me how many batches of soy milk you'd have to make with this to produce about 1lb of firm tofu?
Wendy Wang used 1 batche per block of tofu. Two make a thicker block though.
What about adding calcium and vitamin D?
Peopls are so lazy. The enzyme inhibitant you said would be removed after cooking - are reduced only, not removed.
+eileenfb1948 Really? Something else I have to read up on, haha. Not sure how this makes someone lazy however.
actually soaking them for 12 hrs removes majority of the inhibitors but the cooking process helps too
There is a difference between busy and lazy. A machine helps when busy.
