I'm in Utah we can get get good snow, it doesn't get as built up on my five acres. I don't necessary need a tractor at 40k plus. I can move snow with a DR brush mower, with a blade. I watch many neighbors use ATV with a blade for over 10 years. Now some are buying tractors. My land and my driveway doesn't need to be completely cleared. I even have started to turn my mail off a month at a time now. Don't even need to clear mailbox for delivery now. I will follow your channel, being informative is always good. Where is your Homestead? How many acres?
You definitely cemented the concept in my mind. I was looking for a snow plow, but the snow box makes a whole lot more sense with having a loader. The long snow slides are so much better on a stone driveway. I can see a plow for a long distance, but for short runs, this looks to be the better idea.
We get a ton of snow here in Seward, Alaska. Ive been plowing with my 6 Wheeler and straight plow for the past 10 years. I unknowingly, upgraded to a set up like you have. Looking forward to trying it out this winter. It will be nice to stack the snow higher instead of it building up and closing us in. Thanks
I know you use the snow pusher a lot, but I have a question about the rear blade. Does the rear blade have a floating function, like the front end loader?
It basically only floats. The 3 point hitch doesn’t have any down pressure, so if you put it all the way down, it moves up and down freely. It actually works really well to scrape things down.
@@BigGuyLittleTractor Thank you for the quick reply. You answered exactly what I was interested in. When I bought my used Kubota BX25D TLB, it came with the front snowblower and a Curtis cab. In the winter I leave the backhoe on the tractor to give it more weight, which gives more traction. I use an ATV with a front plow to push the snow to the sides of the driveway, then I blow the snow into the forest. I'm thinking of getting a rear blade to replace the ATV, so I can stay warm in the cab.
I am sure you can do it all with a tractor. The back blade works pretty well most of the time. Really big snow falls are a bit tougher with it, but it works. Facing backwards while Plowing isn’t my favourite though.
Taking the back stage off was definitely a good idea seeing as how your running a rear blade. I’m in western Ontario and run a TYM T474 with a snow plow and blower but the snow plow and rear blade was really nice for the first few snow falls. Looks like y’all have a fair bit more snow than we do, been a pretty disappointing year for snow here.
Request please. Can you post a video pushing snow with the back drag on? I just purchased a 6 foot Land Pride pusher for my BX23s and have used it for 1+ seasons. I just bought the back drag plate for it. I haven’t installed it yet. I keep a medium sized parking lot clear with it. I want to see the problems you were talking about. Much appreciated..😊
There is one here: BX 2380 Plowing Almost a Foot Of Snow to Get My Wife and I to Work | Plowing snow with Kubota BX ua-cam.com/video/4XrESxh1EFA/v-deo.html
Also a few more with smaller amounts of snow. I will put out a comparison video soon. To be clear, it isn’t a problem to have it in, it just limits it a little on big snowfalls. I would leave it on if I needed it a lot.
Finally got to use mine for the first time and I'm not happy with the plastic cutting-edge on the bottom. It don't clean the driveway worth a dam. Going to order the steel edge.
Hello ! I have a BX2380 with the 60 inch pushbox model SPL0560 and a 51 inch snow blower in the back model K51-20-06A. I had a set of chaines for the 4 wheel to get a good grip ! The pushbox back drag is very usefull to clean near the garage door. Thx for sharing !
If I ever have a snowblower in the back, I would put it back on for sure. Right now, the blade on the back does about the same thing for me. Does it push the 60 inch pusher pretty easily too?
Another thing that help a lot in my case is that the snow blower put weight on the back. That snowbox have tendency to drive the front of the tractor. (No so easy to turn) I just lift the box one inch from the ground and when i'm traight line i put the gas full power ! The trottle is always at maximum😆🤣
I agree that the backdrag hinders the performance because of the snow collecting inside the box pushing upwards and doesn't scrape or roll the snow as good. When I had a HLA pusher, I considered taking the backdrag off for this same reason as you mentioned.
Nice plow. In this part of Canada it's really snowy. The plow is a great tool but you really need a snow blower to make the plow complete. Together, they work great with a sub compact in deep snow conditions. The plow alone just wouldn't cut it in these parts.
Hi, I'm in New Brunswick. I have a very long unpaved drive way and just having the plow alone wouldn't cut it. I'm using a 54 inch MK Martin snow blower. I have a CT 1021 which is probably close or exactly the same when comparing your BX PTO HP and tractor H Be well. Enjoyed your video.
Heck yeah that works a whole lot better, you added capacity to the pusher. And like you said when you have a back blade really don't need the back-drag feature. I have a 86'' hydraulic blade that works good for my setup and I wouldn't be without it. I tried SO many plow setups from ATV to truck/plow before I could afford a tractor. Should have gone just straight to tractor, but live and learn, right? I kinda still wanna have a BX or LX bota with a front snowblower for kicks and giggles.....always been fascinated by that setup.
I never put mine up. I made that mistake once when they dropped my BX1870 off when new and promptly put a crease in my garage door upper trim. I haven't tried to see if the BX2380 is same height or not. I wish they were a little shorter like on the older ones that were non-foldable... as far as backdrag goes, really haven't had any deep snow since I've had it. If we ever get more than a foot and a half, a Honda track snowblower will be used...
I put mine up because I have my work lights mounted to it, it’s amazing how often you can almost forget to put it back down when backing into a low clearance garage lol
I see you have both chains on now and I have to be careful about saying things like learning on your own but you figured out your pusher works better for you all on your own. I had to apologize for saying don't listen to the so called experts. I reread it I have to admit it was a little rude or sarcastic and I'm sorry but some of the best solutions you come up with are ones you find out on your own through trial and Err. I pushed snow for many years using only back blade. Sure wish I'd had a snow pusher on the front. Great tool.
I would pick the back blade if I could only have one. The pusher helps my neck a lot though.

I like it better for short runs. I have the grader blade for longer ones too.
That is quite an upgrade over the year before with the plywood wings on the bucket! Nice.
It sure is. I plan to get the boards out one more time though. Just for old times.

Plowing on gravel? It works well as long as the skid shoes are on, or the ground is frozen.

For any kind of long stretch, the snow pusher isn’t really the right thing.
I had to take my backhoe off mine because I had no steering on the snow and ice. It made the front end too light even with chains on the front.
I would see that. I was wondering about adding a bunch of weight to the back I stead of chains. I might end up with the same problem.
What size it that? I’m debating on building mine 54 or 60
It’s actually only 48. I think you could go half a foot to a foot wider.

I have a friend who has that set up. One day I will convince him to do a plow off, or at least to let me try it.
Can't wait to get into this next year - such cathartic relaxing work. BTW, why run with the ROPS down?
Mostly because I didn’t take the time to put them up. I have to put them down to get it in the shed. I should put them up though.
