I hope you liked my country!
The military installation at the start of the video is actually a prison. The “prison” after that is actually an airbase!
It is also perfectly okay to chew gum, just don’t litter, and don’t sell them!
If you do this again next time, do take the Park Connector Network (PCN), definitely way more picturesque!

I would imagine their aim was to take the shortest route possible from point A to point B, and that'd be 27 km (which is the route they took). But the PCN coast-to-coast trail is 36 km long! Definitely more picturesque, but I guess they planned their route in such a way that they could spend some time at the Marina Bay resort at the end of the day, after their walk, and that probably meant they'd have to take the shortest route possible.

Kind of sad y’all didn’t explore the east and west of the country. The geylang area got a lot of food to offer. Also the laws are more relaxed than you think, everyone jaywalks here, you can consume gum all no problem. The egg yall cooked can be eaten. Hi, Kara & Nate, welcome back to Singapore. It’s great to see my favourite UA-camrs in my home country. It was a feat walking in the tropical heat for a whole day from North to South. It was a pity both of you missed the greenery route & was on concrete & construction area instead. Maybe next time, you can consider the 36 km Coast to Coast trail that goes past lots of parks & greenery. We have lots of Park Connectors trails (PCN) that link up almost the whole island. I’m sure it would be a much more pleasant & interesting walk. Just give a shout next time you are heading this way again & we can point you to nicer places to walk & explore.
As for the chewing gum, Kara, don’t worry, you can go ahead & chew all you like. We are allowed to bring back chewing gum from overseas for personal consumption. It’s just that you can’t buy any here because it is not allowed to be sold here. The control is on the sale of chewing gum, not personal consumption.
And also, Kara’s attire is perfectly fine. The outrage of modesty applies more to instances such as upskirt photo taking, molest, peeping toms & such, not so much of personal dressing style.
Hope to see both of you swing by Singapore again. We have lots of other yummy food that you should try.

So in order to compete, you have to constantly make everything better and more attractive. Fun fact the springs were discovered on land that that was owned by one of my family members in the 1900s. It was a pineapple plantation at the time. So I totally should check it out. Also that road you were crossing when you said you made it, is real close to my place. That place with the lights is dodgy haha so many dodgy ktv and massage places around the edge of Little India.

    • @danielc2701

The sad thing most people don't realize is that the laws were reactive. Which meant that someone somewhere abused the hell out of their privileges to the point where it became a problem before it had to be made into a law. And screwed up the scene for everyone else. Singaporeans call this "Spoil market" (short for "spoiling the market", it's in relation to supply and demand where someone will jack up the price of an item to an unreasonable amount and forcing the average price up, causing losses for everyone else).

13:10 So there are two different cans of Red Bull you'd find in a Southeast Asian store. One is the carbonated one that you're used to with the tall blue/silver can, the other one is the you had that is in a stubby gold one. The gold one originated from Thailand and was first marketed as a cheap pick-me-up for laborers who wanted a quick energy shot, and hence is cheaper. The blue one (the one you're used to) was later modified and carbonated, introduced to European markets, and promoted as a high performance drink for sportsmen. Due to this brand differentiation they are sold at nearly double the cost of the gold one.
