This 1982 debut ep is absolute 🔥🔥🔥
If you mean The Beginning then I agree. It’s the best!
@@rabbithowls71 The Beginning is the re-release we all got. That's what I have. Too. But in The Beginning, there was a 4 song record ep put out in 1982, with "witches" being crucified topless (To a wooden X, not a cross, like we have been taught to believe). And on that groundbreaking 1982 ep are the first 4 songs from disc/side A of The Beginning (Corpse Without Soul, Devil Eyes, Nuns Have No Fun & another I can't recall at the moment--I also very well may have f'ed up the title of Devil Eyes, 🤣. Is it Evil Eyes? I don't know. I'm away from home, drunk, walking in the rain.
Cheers! 🍻
HAIL TO THE KING! 🤘😈🤘
My turntable needle wore my Fate albums down to the bone when they first blew my mind circa 1986. Their first three albums are still in my rotation; cheers to checking them out with an open mind.
Kim Ruzz rocks in the Drums!
Guitarists Hank Shermann and Michael Denner has a couple of other projects. Force Of Evil - Back To Hell feat. drummer Bjarne T Holm and bass player Hal Patino. Both has recorded with Mercyful Fate and Patino also with King Diamond. Zoser Mez - Desert Of Deception and Denner/Shermann - Satan's Tomb and Son Of Satan. Denner/Shermann are very much like Mercyful Fate but with Sean Peck on vocals. Drummer Snowy Shaw ex-King Diamond also plays on this one with Mark Grabowski on bass. Denner and Shermann was also members of the first Danish metal band Brats. They recorded the album 1980. Heavy Rocker is a great track. King Diamond later joined that band before they turned into Danger Zone and then Mercyful Fate
Denner and Hank are no more friends. Denner was kicked out of Mercyful Fate during the last reunion 2019 (When Timi died RIP). Sadly Denner is the friendliest guy he and Hank cant be in the same room even though they started up Brats and then Mercyful Fate. Denner have joined Artillery but not sure if it is as a fulltime member ... ?
You can hear Mercyful Fate being influenced by Sabbath & early Priest at the time & Priest sort of took what Fate had established at the time with their later sound in the mid 80’s to early 90’s.
Mercyful Fate was also the catalyst for first wave black metal alongside bands like Venom & then later Bathory.
those first 2 mercyful fate records definitely borrowed heavily from sin after sin. they managed to make it their own, 100%, but the influence is beyond glaring.
KING DIAMOND
Try Desecration Of Souls from Don't Break The Oath. A great jam also catchy riff/beat!
Greetings from Helsinki, Finland. I think you take perfect song... 😅Stay heavy! 🤘 BTW King Diamond is my "god" since 1987.
Yeah Halford was a few years ahead of King 😆
Halford is a Metal God and King is a King. \m/
Oh my gosh this is awesome. \m/
This song was in one of my favorite skate videos cataclysmic abyss. This is still my favorite song from them 💯. Love the King
God, I still remember buying this on cassette from Tower Records as a teenager...and listening to it routinely for 30+ years...
For a fact I know you'll absolutely love Undying Evil by Enforcer
I know Metallica was inspired by them but wow you can really tell in the beginning. Which is awesome. Or maybe I'm thinking of the Metallica mercyful Fate song.
Doomed by the Living Dead
Nuns Have No Fun...you'll love it
Could you listen to Ghostmane-Drown I think you will like this song very much
mercyful fate are way more fun than solo king diamond. before "metal drums". hearing those jaunty disco beats under the dundugga dun dugga dun is a thing a beauty. mercyful fate basically just took the priest album sin after sin and made a career out of lifting from that record. fantastic stuff
Interesting take. I'll have to ponder this.
Those early Diamond albums are just as good as the early Fate material. Especially Abigail & Them
@@JoshCarlos1998 i really enjoyed fatal portrait. abigail and them have very shrill productions....outstanding songs, but it's physically hard on the ears. the abigail live 1987 album versions of those songs from portrait and abigail are incendiary
