6:07 Thank you Sophie - love watching your videos ❤️ I wonder if you could make a video about how to get started with the birds - how do they get familiar with the concept of touching the stick? I have a new bird, only a baby 9 weeks old, and I want to start training as soon as possible. Right now she feels most safe in the back end of her cage. (Still in quarantine)
So if your little one is scared of the stick, you can treat her for looking at it, or even taking one step towards it - even the most simple of tricks can be broken down into tiny steps if needed 😊
Target training is really essential for you birds to know. I've taught my birds how to do target training they love it and also it's really easy to do - My birds literally knew it within a day ( Not all birds will do it that quick) I'm planning to do a bit of syringe training and much more so if my birds ever dose need to go to the vet it will all be very simple to do so to take medicine e.c.t!
I hope this finds you well I lost my green cheeks trust and I’m working hard to regain his trust He accepts treats and steps up, but he will be aggressive and attack me, when he wants he will do a recall He also will do tricks and then out of the blue he’ll attack my arm or fingers The past 2 months he bites my ear when he is on my shoulder Can you please help, my other green cheek avoids him all the time Thank you
Sounds like there’s lots to unpick here but I’d keep sessions shorter to start with, and also film them o watch back which will give you a lot of information! And also why you lost his trust in the first place!
Thank you for another great video 😊
You are so welcome! 🥰
I'm currently teaching this to my birds in order to teach them the tunnel trick later😊
That's a great idea! 😊
It's so useful BirdNerdSophie❤ tq for taking time to post videos for bird lovers 😊

Great video!
Target Training was the very first thing I taught my birds.
Thank you it’s definitely an essential skill!
