Well at least you didn't get too may down before you spotted it. I do it a fair bit lol get the lad a small trowel to have a go with. It minght be a bit better for him than that big longsword you got 😂😂trowels are like other mens bits they get shorter as you get older. Mine is tiny now 😂😂😂😂Nice job mate looking grand 👍
Cheers Moggy, well maybe a few years ago I would have tried to get away with it. But it's all about doing what's right and best👌 Thanks for your support mate
Just an observation but your trowel looks far to big for you. Your not smooth your action looks clumbsy. When you’ve been doing it for 32 years like me you will realise you don’t need such a big trowel
There SHOULD be a LARGE air space gap in-between the face of the insulation and the OUTER WALL inside the cavity ; this includes an air space gap in between the face of the insulation and the cavity-wall-tie drip point which is in the centre of the cavity. Ask N.V.Q. BRICKWORK teachers for PROOF of this ! With the cavity-wall being bridged with insulation (insulation touching the outer walls), damp will travel from the outer wall through the bridging insulation to the inner wall !
Brilliant working the extension buddy! Don't worry about the little mistake, its all part of the job as my tutor says! 😀👍 Keep up the great work as always, looking forward to the next one! 👍😁👌👷♂️🧱
@@IzzytheBricky No problem buddy! Lets hope I can make it! I just need to take into consideration the distance from my house to the event location, we'll just have see what happens! 😁👍🙏
Fair play to you owning up too your mistake, very honorable, we are all human after all, I make mistakes and the builder I work for looks to cut my money.
you do a great job mate, is that a london pattern trowel? I prefer a canadian myself. 1 thing when installing damp trays for leadwork, bed under the damp and dry lay bricks on top as lead should be fitted under the tray.
Cheers mate appreciate it! I just throw everything in the washer at home mate! Never had any issues..it's washed nails, screws, lines, pins knifes...still going strong
Smashing them in lad nice work not like you to forget a tray but a you say at least you realised when you did ! The scaffold was something else must be good for the core strength 😂 cheers for upload
Haha well, happens to the best of us. Probably the only downfall to being a 1n1, you ain't got another Bricky reminding you of stuff😂 Haha was a bit of a balancing act up there😂
Another great video mate, but I reckon you will regret in later years using such a BIG trowel. Not good for the wrist, elbow and shoulder joints mate. Great how you are so patient with your apprentice, keep up the good work.
its not a big trowel which screws your wrist elbows back and the rest its stretching when your building 9 course of block or building 27 course of brick like a maniac which too many brickys do now and all to save a lift on a scaffold the scaffolder is there to suit the brickys not the other way round as some do without question blaming a big trowel is a myth
We all do it mate not normal otherewise mate.Thinking two steps ahead and trying to make your lift for scaffolding 🤣🤣 anyone says they never done similar is a liar .looking good though pal 👍 👌
Larry I agree with all you say about laying multiple courses but it’s not a myth about the big trowel, bigger trowel equates to more weight of muck and that puts strain on the joints as much as the other aspects. I am 67 and speak from experience and NHS physio warned of the dangers years ago. Good luck to Izzy he is a very good brickie and all round good lad. 👍
iv been laying since i was 15 im now 64 and always used a london wide 12 inch and never ever had any problems with anything other than my back obviously a small trowel is more suitable for some work but on general site work its always been the big trowel its knowing how to use the trowel and i dont see any problem with izzys trowel even with a small trowel and building above 9 high block is going to put a strain on your back wrist elbows and shoulder 7 block and 21 in height has never caused any arm or wrist problems iv been to specialists about my back and they all shake there heads when i tell them im a bricky im told your back is like a door hinge and its going to go 1 day and the usual skeletal problems which i can see in some guys who are still working away and i know guys my age who are still as fit as a fiddle with no problems
Well done Larry people like you have built this country so not arguing with you mate just my point of view and life experience, hope you stay fit and well. Good luck to Izzy who seems a very genuine lad who admits his mistakes, and his apprentice who by the way is not bad on the camera. 👍

Miss laying uk bricks , deep frog so easy to control, bricks here in Australia have a very shallow frog, almost a solid, 86m gage
Ooof don't like the sound of that mate.. however..it can't be too bad, as it is Australia😍☀️☀️
Smashed it again may I add
Why haven't u toothed it in fella them straight joints on the brickwork look horrendous
I know😰 was told by the inspector NOT to tooth in..don't know why mate. Nothing some down pipes won't hind however 😉
How come you work on your own bud
Use to be in s gang. Then worked solo for s year. Now 1n1. Just enjoy being a small gang
