Try to Look Like an Ant or Die!

Myrmarachne are really an interesting phenomenon in biology. Trying to look like an ant seems to be an odd choice. But if you want to survive it is a very good choice! Japan is full of different jumping spider species in summer time. The underbrush is bustling. Among these many different jumping spiders there are some species that have evolved to look like an ant in order to avoid predation. These Myrmarachne spiders have even adopted some ant behaviour like the way ants move and to use the forward pair of legs to fake ant antennae.
