Chris VA…sir the “Brick-work” is very important because of the “Stamping”… long time ago..I crawled my way around and the people were so pleased to show me their Heritage in the brick-work! …if you think about it… all the builders knew the men who made the. “Bricks”… it was a personal thing.. the original designers were “Great”… Thank you for this tour!
@@VATravels I checked, and my friend is a Copenhaver, so their family has a connection to the Bonhams through marriage ( there’s a panel about them in the video)!👍 I also found out at one time there was a Chilhowie Brick Factory that made bricks from clay and they were used worldwide during the 1800s. The marked bricks you saw were examples of them and the local Methodist Episcopal Church was entirely made of them!
There’s additional information on the Town of Chilhowie website, not sure if there’s any more deep dive source than that! Branch Museum of Architecture maybe?
Please come visit The Wayne C Henderson School of Appalachian Arts in Marion! We are a “hidden gem”. World Class Lutherie…guitar build workshop number 20 is March 16-20 2025.

@@annmcgehee1728 Oh interesting. I was thinking there must’ve been a factory or something there in town at one time.
