I am sure your family is very glad these memories have been preserved! Awesome drone footage, and listening to your dad always reminds me of my dad, great storyteller!!
This video was so much fun! I love family history stories. You have good Virginia ancestry! I love it there in P.E. county and Appomattox county area.. Very pretty and people are so nice. 👍🏁💯
Enjoyed this. Reminds me of the Hampden-Sydney landscape when Dad took us there for football games. If you are related to Taylors in that area you may want to look into Creede Taylor. He opened Needham Law School in the county, one of the first in the country.
My paternal g-g-g-grandfather, who appeared mysteriously in SW VA from who knows where, was, by family legend, Creed Taylor’s adopted nephew. I found an old VA Cavalcade magazine in the R’noke City Library VA Room that had an article stating his adopted nephew became a prominent lawyer in Richmond. So much for family stories that try to elevate people into higher societal stratospheres 🤣
So you got roots in Prince Edward Co, cool. Those family homes were really lovely, so were the churches. I like your dad's accent, too. Is that a Southside VA accent cuz it almost sounds like a Tidewater accent to my ears, but what do I know - just trying to learn. Cute little town♥
Thanks for sharing this video my brother lives in hampton virginia. Its so pretty & peaceful in this video
Dads got a great Virginia drawl
Thanx for including the map at the start that’s really helpful for us Ausies. Cheers mate.
Thanks for watching!
Nice seeing your families hometown, Chris. Makes it a bit more special.

Not Tidewater.
@@hw260 Yea the South Central part of VA. That's how they all sound out there. Thanks!
I agree! It's very Tidewater. I'm currently living in that part of Virginia and all the natives here talk like that. I love it
I bet that school was impressive when it was built
We can’t keep up
Trying to do 2 a week. lol
Should title be Tour of Rice ?
Whoop, thanks for letting me know!
Rice, Va has a population of 2,547. Didn't think it was that big. Enjoyed the tour of your generational hometown.
Yea, surprised there are that many people. Thanks
