Not only that, the game is so unbalanced and unpolished it's bugged as heck. Why wasn't there any music playing in the tutorial? That's how the game's technical status is :/
One thing to know about PVZ2 is that there is a ton of extra minigame content and just random stuff in general, I recommend sticking to adventure mode and once you have done quite a bit and got used to the gameplay, then move onto the extras
The bloomerang plant hits 3 targets at once in ONE lane, two times (once on the way to the zombie and once coming back). Once it hits 3 targets it comes back. It's good for the camel zombies, because they usually come in groups of 3, which is exactly how many targets the boomerang can hit. The pinatas usually have a couple of "seed packets" for plants from that world. Each seed packet is a point towards upgrading a certain plant, you need a certain number of points to upgrade a plant. An upgrade always costs coins, you cannot buy an upgrade without having enough seed packets. Edit: Also the yellow power up lets you fling away zombies once you push them back twice in quick succession. It's rarely worth it tho, since it doesn't damage gargantuars but only pushes them back a bit. Hope this helps!
u can actually push a bunch of zombies at once if they are all clumped together so its actually good for really strong non gargantuar zombies and tons of zombies clumped together

The minigames from PvZ 1 are all really creative and fun so I think they'd be worth your time. Also, PvZ 2 might seem hand-hold at first but it'll let go of it soon enough.
Here are some tips for your playthrough, Each sun collected is now worth 50 instead of 25 like in the first game, Except for "Small sun (25)" and "Large Sun (75)." Iceburg lettuce is a perfect stalling plant that can freeze any zombie and you don't have to place it exactly on zombies. And my last tip is to save money for when you actually need to upgrade or use power ups since in later worlds it'll get more difficult.
The Plant food is a one-time use thing. Your last resort basically. Later on in the worlds you can also drag the plant food onto a recharging plant to make it recharge instantly, which is pretty useful for slow recharge plants. It permanently boosts some plants, like Cactus, or a new plant that I don't wanna spoil cause it's too late in the game. It also gives shields to protective ppants like Wall-Nut or Tall-Nut
When it says the Bloomerang plant can hit up to three targets in its lane twice, it means it has piercing projectiles that go through zombies & other obstacles to hit up to 3 targets and then comes back and hits them again.
Plant levelling and pinatas were something added more recently, and it was pretty divisive. Up to you if you want to level up your plants, you don’t actually need to in Adventure mode.
I hate the leveling system. If there was a way to rewind plants back to level 1 then sure, it's just an added bonus, but upgrading your plants makes the game too damn easy, where's the fun in defending if you can just plant a cheap peashooter and it kills zombies in 1-4 hits?

After you finish this game I reccomend playing the PVZ 2 Reflourished Mod. It adds at least 10 new levels to each world as well as 2 new worlds, 1 is full of premium plants and the other has new plants + the cattail from pvz 1!
The rarity system you were thinking about does not exist with the piñatas in the game. It simply gives you the seed packets used to upgrade plants of that world, with no specific, or at least noticeable, differences in odds of plants (except in world exclusive plants for some reason, at least for me, I haven't checked if there's a difference). There are 11 worlds in the game, with 69 world plants in them and 12 other plants promoted in them. 6 of these can be unlocked with the gem currency, and 6 require you to purchase them with money. There are also more plants unlockable with both real money and the gem currency, but they are not promoted in adventure and rather in the store. There are currently 179 plants in total, and the ones that do not fall into the previous categories are either the power mints or the seed packet unlocks. (This category of plant will probably be irrelevant to the series) Power mints will be unavailable to you unless you frequently play arena, as they are unlocked with mints that are essentially collected solely from arena mode. The game has 14 of these mints which each cost 0 sun to place with a starting cooldown that is noticeably long. Power Mints will provide a boost to the plants of their mint family, seen in the plant's almanac/top left corner of their seed packet. This boost gives them the statistics of the plant at its maximum level. Additionally, these plants have standalone effects that can either be very insignificant or very significant. It is unlikely you will be unlocking any of these for the series, so feel free to not take note of this. The seed packet plants make up the majority of the game's plants and are most easily unlocked when the game promotes them in events such as the current Backyard Big Top event, promoting Buzz Button, Ultomato, and Snap Pea, among others. These plants require the player to collect the specified amount of seed packets, be it from pinatas, the gamemodes which reward the player with seed packets, directly receiving them from either watching ads or using the in-game currencies, or by purchasing them with real money when they appear in the store. These plants, though you will have no chance of getting every single one of them, are likely for you to unlock a few of as you progress. Torchwood is the main one that you will be pretty much guaranteed to get, as you get all the seed packets to unlock it on your seventh day of playing the game. Plants which require 100 seed packets to unlock barely require you to go out of your way to get them when promoted in most cases, like Pumpkin and Ice Bloom, which I managed to get the former within weeks of getting the game and the latter soon after it appeared in the Feastivus event. The game has systems to rearrange these plants, namely the ability to select favorite plants and pin them at the top of the seeds list, and there are MANY other interfaces you will encounter. In the seed select menu, there will be options to wear costumes on plants (I don't know what to think about this feature) and the option to pick your plants from the last level or attempt on a level. The rest of the features pertaining to seed selection don't really matter, excluding the upgrading feature. Managing your currency in this game later on becomes the most difficult task in the game, if you try to unlock as much as you can. The currencies are essentially used in every unlocking and upgrading process, unless it is a purchase with real money (i.e. premium plants and premium piñatas).
In this game, you get 50 sun, instead of 25. Also Cabbage's PF (Plant Food) deals well with high amounts of weak zombies, also, Potato Mines PF instantly arms it and spawns 2 more, skipping the 15 Second arm time
That's right! I downloaded and played the earliest version of the game to experience the first release since I wasn't there to play the whole things after the release in earlier years. It's was using 25 sun system then changed to 50 in later updates
The Bloomerang can attack three targets in one lane. A normal peashooter can only attack one target, but the bloomerang's projectile goes through 3 zombies.
So in PvZ 2, you can pretty much make your plants stronger. There are more worlds that are also hard. You can unlock plants according to where they live and there will be levels you might encounter challenges. Replace sun producers with more offensive plants in later levels.
You should definitely make more pvz1 content :) Personally I have never played pvz2 but I love unlocking and upgrading things. Watching this make me want to try
I get why he just played the current version of the game, but recent updates have definitely made it much worse by removing awesome mini games and music, adding stuff like plant levelling, daily login rewards and changing ancient egypt dialogue and levels for no reason (like ancient Egypt is kind of one big tutorial now, and some of that Dave and Zomboss dialogue is new, but I think it’s not needed), so I hope he plays Reflourished after this. Btw, two things, you used to be able to skip that tutorial but for some reason you can’t anymore, and the reason that there was no music in the tutorial is probably because of a music glitch that’s been in the game for ages. Also, this used to have the name ‘It’s About Time’, really cool name, don’t know why they changed it.
@@caiomendes7689 yes its a fan game, it basically turned the pvz 2 back to its original state, no grinding and level up systems, but more worlds taken from the chinese version as well as really good balancing with all the plants
I can’t tell if the upgrades and power ups will make this easier or if the restructure (they’ve moved around levels through updates which is why some levels will say things a level late or have no context) and bijuu’s lack of PvZ knowledge will make this harder…
As someone that has been replaying the game myself in anticipation of this playthrough, I’ll say this. Don’t bother upgrading some plants, you’re never going to use them (Ive gotten through Egypt and the next two worlds and I basically don’t use any of the pea shooters at all except for one kind you get later on, as an example). 90% of the time you’re going to have 3-4 plants you use full time in each world and that’s it, and the ones you don’t use are usually good enough at level 1 anyway. Some of these levels do get very hard very quickly, so use powerups, but be careful with using coins/powerups too much because you’ll wind up spending your coins way faster than you get them if you’re not careful. Be careful about micro transactions as well, this game is a little more heavy on them, but honestly you really don’t need to make any to beat the base game at all. I place my sunflowers in the back and make everything symmetrical myself, but as long as you have your defenses down everything should be fine, put stuff wherever you want. And spoiler tip for the final level of Egypt if you want it Make sure to save plant food only for the bonk choys, it’s a really good clear out plant for when giant hoards start piling up. Made clearing Zomboss way easier if you have any difficultly with it.
So the game has an ending, after about 11 worlds (each containing about 30 levels, but there's a FF button and they go by much quicker). The game's story ends there, but there's 2 modes for you to check out after that. It's called "Arena" and "Penny's Pursuit". They are pretty fun and I recommend checking them out some time. Thwre's also like quadruple+ plants compared to the original game and atleast double the zombies (if you count zombie types, like the one from Modern Day and Ancient Egypt then it becomes like quintuple!)

I hear it's also easier if you put sun producers in the front which would make a ton of sense now that I think about it. When I play Pvz2 though I always play with plants that came out before the world and never anything new just to live up to the original challenge
This game is sick in my opinion, its extremely big though, it'll take a pretty long time to finish, it took me around 7-10 days to complete, thats because i was doing one chapter per day though, which i recommend, in my opinion the difficulty doesn't really increase, its more like it changes mechanic, and sometimes a level can be so hard that you have to CHANGE chapter to get a plant that you can use to beat a level
Once you get mushrooms in this game you can use them on any level, it doesn't have to be night, and a lot of them are really good so i recommend using them. I personally like the sun shrooms more than the sun flowers. Also, do not use the double sunflower. It's overpriced and not worth it in my opinion. Hope this helps!
Fun fact originally you could get all the keys for each world from the first gargantua fight but they changed that in an update where you only get 1 key per timeline
That's good to know, after played it for the first time, there's a bunch of keys after defeating Mummy Gargantuar and now I can explore all levels. But now I'm getting a key each time like exploring the world's chronologically

I recommend upgrading all of your plants (the ones you can) before battle at first, then when you have a good amount of plants, upgrade the ones you use the most. Also, notice that some of the zombies are glowing, that means they give you plant boost ( or however it’s called ), and you can use that to your advantage. Hope this helps!
You are greatest and bestest UA-camr of all time. Also you have funniest commentary. Also I believe you don’t have to have strategy or reasoning when placing your plants as long as have squares you can place any plant on the square that your heart desires/what ever is most useful in the moment (aka you can place the right plant for the job in the most convenient place possible) but I mean you could also just use power ups and then randomly pick plants because the powers seemingly solve all of your problems. But that would mean spending a crap ton of money on the game just to enlighten you.
I just saw a cool FNF mod, it’s Kokichi Oma VS Shuichi Saihara, it’s like Danganronpa V3 characters sing off, and the mod seems very high quality, and the songs seem pretty challenging! I know you haven’t played either FNF or Danganronpa in a while, but I just thought it’d be fun to see you playing that mod! I saw it on CommunityGame, I believe
Tip:The boomerang plant can be used in tight situations for example if there are a ton of zombies in one line then place him 100% because he will hit them all going forward then being a boomerang come out and hit them again.
The thing why so many people put there sunflower way on the front (second line) its because to put the most powerful or last defense plants on the first tile and this style of tactic actually help some of the levels that have a zombie with some special ability
Here is helpful tip if you want to upgrade your plants go to the book on the top left and when you pick your plants and if you want to know when you can level them up you can see the bar at the bottom of the plant is green you can level them up but if it's not green you can't level them up. Hope this was helpful
Ok let me help you Indeed this gets hard really quick. Although the game has plants behind a paywall, you will not need them at all. Unless it is given to you via trial. Next up, in terms of the music, it's currently bugged and doesn't work, also a ton of music was removed prior anyway so it will be really repetitive.
I'm pretty sure the noise of hitting a cone or a bucket was different in PvZ1 as well, that was really useful for the dark level and the dark minigame.
Bijuu Mike!!! Here's something you should know when you played PvZ2 for the first time! Originally, Cabbage-pult was part of the Ancient Egypt plants before the updates where they make changes to the tutorial levels There's a new feature called the plant family where each plants belongs to some mint plants for an epic boost Before the family plants update, we just continued on playing. The mint plants are used by Arena for battling with other plants In the earlier version of PvZ2, the map looked different, unfortunately I was not there to see the map since I didn't get the map since I was little Dr. Zomboss originally wasn't there at the beginning of the game (he wasn't there at the end of the tutorial in the earlier versions) Before the new update of the game, the tutorial levels looked different! There was 3 Peashooters facing the wrong side and need you to use the shovel to pick them up. This is just like in the PvZ if you remembered. The UI in the Almanac looked very different, I was shocked at first. First version UI, there are names in the tabs and you can access the plants stats on the top and scrolling for plants seed plants seed on the bottom Second version UI, it changed into faces on the tabs Third version UI, the tabs are full of Plants seed and Zombies boxes, tap the plant and zombies square thingy for informations I'm an oldbie of PvZ2! Some plants can only be obtained via an app purchase, but they completely throw off the balance and most plants can be obtained by playing normally and can get you through the main story anyway.
As someone who beat the 2nd game I found putting your primal sunflower at the back and using instant kill plants alot with ghost pepper the best way to beat the game, I know you get these late game but early game is alot easier, but I always put sunflowers at the back, and using twin sun over the original once you get it and primal over the twin once you get that
If you don’t get what “Bloomerang” does, it works like a boomerang. It shoots, and it comes back to the plant. Meaning, it will hit 2 times in its lane. Iceberg lettuce can be placed anywhere on the ground, it does not insta activate like cherry bomb, jalapeños. It’s skill (Plant food) can freeze all zombies on the screen.

How to use each power-up Power zap: hold left click on zombies to electrocute them Power toss: double-swipe zombies back to knock them off the lawn Power snow: hold left click to throw deadly snowballs at the zombies that chill and do a lot of damage

In pvz 1, you buy at Crazy Dave's shop but pvz 2 relies on giving plants for extra damage In conclusion, pvz 1 and pvz 2 are still fine, but pvz 2 isn't just made for my liking I hate the microtransactions imo

There are 11 worlds in the game, with 69 world plants in them and 12 other plants promoted in them. 6 of these can be unlocked with the gem currency, and 6 require you to purchase them with money. There are also more plants unlockable with both real money and the gem currency, but they are not promoted in adventure and rather in the store. There are currently 179 plants in total, and the ones that do not fall into the previous categories are either the power mints or the seed packet unlocks.
(This category of plant will probably be irrelevant to the series) Power mints will be unavailable to you unless you frequently play arena, as they are unlocked with mints that are essentially collected solely from arena mode. The game has 14 of these mints which each cost 0 sun to place with a starting cooldown that is noticeably long. Power Mints will provide a boost to the plants of their mint family, seen in the plant's almanac/top left corner of their seed packet. This boost gives them the statistics of the plant at its maximum level. Additionally, these plants have standalone effects that can either be very insignificant or very significant. It is unlikely you will be unlocking any of these for the series, so feel free to not take note of this.
The seed packet plants make up the majority of the game's plants and are most easily unlocked when the game promotes them in events such as the current Backyard Big Top event, promoting Buzz Button, Ultomato, and Snap Pea, among others. These plants require the player to collect the specified amount of seed packets, be it from pinatas, the gamemodes which reward the player with seed packets, directly receiving them from either watching ads or using the in-game currencies, or by purchasing them with real money when they appear in the store. These plants, though you will have no chance of getting every single one of them, are likely for you to unlock a few of as you progress. Torchwood is the main one that you will be pretty much guaranteed to get, as you get all the seed packets to unlock it on your seventh day of playing the game. Plants which require 100 seed packets to unlock barely require you to go out of your way to get them when promoted in most cases, like Pumpkin and Ice Bloom, which I managed to get the former within weeks of getting the game and the latter soon after it appeared in the Feastivus event.
The game has systems to rearrange these plants, namely the ability to select favorite plants and pin them at the top of the seeds list, and there are MANY other interfaces you will encounter. In the seed select menu, there will be options to wear costumes on plants (I don't know what to think about this feature) and the option to pick your plants from the last level or attempt on a level. The rest of the features pertaining to seed selection don't really matter, excluding the upgrading feature.
Managing your currency in this game later on becomes the most difficult task in the game, if you try to unlock as much as you can. The currencies are essentially used in every unlocking and upgrading process, unless it is a purchase with real money (i.e. premium plants and premium piñatas).
In this game, you get 50 sun, instead of 25. Also Cabbage's PF (Plant Food) deals well with high amounts of weak zombies, also, Potato Mines PF instantly arms it and spawns 2 more, skipping the 15 Second arm time
That's right! I downloaded and played the earliest version of the game to experience the first release since I wasn't there to play the whole things after the release in earlier years. It's was using 25 sun system then changed to 50 in later updates
The Bloomerang can attack three targets in one lane. A normal peashooter can only attack one target, but the bloomerang's projectile goes through 3 zombies.

The first game felt like an indie game. I don’t know if it was or not, but it felt like it. This feels like a free-to-play game.
So in PvZ 2, you can pretty much make your plants stronger. There are more worlds that are also hard. You can unlock plants according to where they live and there will be levels you might encounter challenges. Replace sun producers with more offensive plants in later levels.
You should definitely make more pvz1 content :)

I get why he just played the current version of the game, but recent updates have definitely made it much worse by removing awesome mini games and music, adding stuff like plant levelling, daily login rewards and changing ancient egypt dialogue and levels for no reason (like ancient Egypt is kind of one big tutorial now, and some of that Dave and Zomboss dialogue is new, but I think it’s not needed), so I hope he plays Reflourished after this. Btw, two things, you used to be able to skip that tutorial but for some reason you can’t anymore, and the reason that there was no music in the tutorial is probably because of a music glitch that’s been in the game for ages. Also, this used to have the name ‘It’s About Time’, really cool name, don’t know why they changed it.

I can’t tell if the upgrades and power ups will make this easier or if the restructure (they’ve moved around levels through updates which is why some levels will say things a level late or have no context) and bijuu’s lack of PvZ knowledge will make this harder…

As someone that has been replaying the game myself in anticipation of this playthrough, I’ll say this. Don’t bother upgrading some plants, you’re never going to use them (Ive gotten through Egypt and the next two worlds and I basically don’t use any of the pea shooters at all except for one kind you get later on, as an example). 90% of the time you’re going to have 3-4 plants you use full time in each world and that’s it, and the ones you don’t use are usually good enough at level 1 anyway. Some of these levels do get very hard very quickly, so use powerups, but be careful with using coins/powerups too much because you’ll wind up spending your coins way faster than you get them if you’re not careful. Be careful about micro transactions as well, this game is a little more heavy on them, but honestly you really don’t need to make any to beat the base game at all. I place my sunflowers in the back and make everything symmetrical myself, but as long as you have your defenses down everything should be fine, put stuff wherever you want. And spoiler tip for the final level of Egypt if you want it
Make sure to save plant food only for the bonk choys, it’s a really good clear out plant for when giant hoards start piling up. Made clearing Zomboss way easier if you have any difficultly with it.
So the game has an ending, after about 11 worlds (each containing about 30 levels, but there's a FF button and they go by much quicker). The game's story ends there, but there's 2 modes for you to check out after that.
It's called "Arena" and "Penny's Pursuit". They are pretty fun and I recommend checking them out some time.
Thwre's also like quadruple+ plants compared to the original game and atleast double the zombies (if you count zombie types, like the one from Modern Day and Ancient Egypt then it becomes like quintuple!)

When I play Pvz2 though I always play with plants that came out before the world and never anything new just to live up to the original challenge

This game is sick in my opinion, its extremely big though, it'll take a pretty long time to finish, it took me around 7-10 days to complete, thats because i was doing one chapter per day though, which i recommend, in my opinion the difficulty doesn't really increase, its more like it changes mechanic, and sometimes a level can be so hard that you have to CHANGE chapter to get a plant that you can use to beat a level
Once you get mushrooms in this game you can use them on any level, it doesn't have to be night, and a lot of them are really good so i recommend using them. I personally like the sun shrooms more than the sun flowers.
Also, do not use the double sunflower. It's overpriced and not worth it in my opinion. Hope this helps!
Fun fact originally you could get all the keys for each world from the first gargantua fight but they changed that in an update where you only get 1 key per timeline

You're definitely gonna wanna follow the rule of putting sun producers first in line. You won't have it easy doing it any other way.
I mean I made it all the way up to the 4th word (Aztec temple I think?) with that strategy before deciding to change where I put the sunflowers

If you keep upgrade your plants, it does change it's attack projectiles.
I recommend upgrading all of your plants (the ones you can) before battle at first, then when you have a good amount of plants, upgrade the ones you use the most.
Also, notice that some of the zombies are glowing, that means they give you plant boost ( or however it’s called ), and you can use that to your advantage.

You are greatest and bestest UA-camr of all time. Also you have funniest commentary. Also I believe you don’t have to have strategy or reasoning when placing your plants as long as have squares you can place any plant on the square that your heart desires/what ever is most useful in the moment (aka you can place the right plant for the job in the most convenient place possible) but I mean you could also just use power ups and then randomly pick plants because the powers seemingly solve all of your problems. But that would mean spending a crap ton of money on the game just to enlighten you.
YES, please play the mini games. Also, you're defense doesn't get erased between flags in survival mode!
Something to be aware of when upgrading plants is some of them will cost more sun once at a certain level

Tip:The boomerang plant can be used in tight situations for example if there are a ton of zombies in one line then place him 100% because he will hit them all going forward then being a boomerang come out and hit them again.
The thing why so many people put there sunflower way on the front (second line) its because to put the most powerful or last defense plants on the first tile and this style of tactic actually help some of the levels that have a zombie with some special ability
Here is helpful tip if you want to upgrade your plants go to the book on the top left and when you pick your plants and if you want to know when you can level them up you can see the bar at the bottom of the plant is green you can level them up but if it's not green you can't level them up. Hope this was helpful

Although the game has plants behind a paywall, you will not need them at all. Unless it is given to you via trial.
Next up, in terms of the music, it's currently bugged and doesn't work, also a ton of music was removed prior anyway so it will be really repetitive.

The levels get so much harder, there's all kinds of zombies which are so OP I'm playing it myself and have been stuck on a level for so long haha

I'm pretty sure the noise of hitting a cone or a bucket was different in PvZ1 as well, that was really useful for the dark level and the dark minigame.

Here's something you should know when you played PvZ2 for the first time!
Originally, Cabbage-pult was part of the Ancient Egypt plants before the updates where they make changes to the tutorial levels
There's a new feature called the plant family where each plants belongs to some mint plants for an epic boost
Before the family plants update, we just continued on playing. The mint plants are used by Arena for battling with other plants
In the earlier version of PvZ2, the map looked different, unfortunately I was not there to see the map since I didn't get the map since I was little
Dr. Zomboss originally wasn't there at the beginning of the game (he wasn't there at the end of the tutorial in the earlier versions)
Before the new update of the game, the tutorial levels looked different! There was 3 Peashooters facing the wrong side and need you to use the shovel to pick them up. This is just like in the PvZ if you remembered.
The UI in the Almanac looked very different, I was shocked at first.
First version UI, there are names in the tabs and you can access the plants stats on the top and scrolling for plants seed plants seed on the bottom
Second version UI, it changed into faces on the tabs
Third version UI, the tabs are full of Plants seed and Zombies boxes, tap the plant and zombies square thingy for informations

Some plants can only be obtained via an app purchase, but they completely throw off the balance and most plants can be obtained by playing normally and can get you through the main story anyway.
As someone who beat the 2nd game I found putting your primal sunflower at the back and using instant kill plants alot with ghost pepper the best way to beat the game, I know you get these late game but early game is alot easier, but I always put sunflowers at the back, and using twin sun over the original once you get it and primal over the twin once you get that

If you don’t get what “Bloomerang” does, it works like a boomerang. It shoots, and it comes back to the plant. Meaning, it will hit 2 times in its lane.
Iceberg lettuce can be placed anywhere on the ground, it does not insta activate like cherry bomb, jalapeños. It’s skill (Plant food) can freeze all zombies on the screen.

As long as you bring lightning reed, it can decimate weasels kinda like it does with chickens. Fire peashooter helps a lot too.

Power zap: hold left click on zombies to electrocute them
Power toss: double-swipe zombies back to knock them off the lawn

The plants with golden frames are premium plants. You can get them them using money (yes real money), gems, and through arena events.
Definitely go through the minigames in pvz 1, they're pretty fun! And some are pretty challenging.
