I don't think he knows how to downshift while on the brakes. I did see him downshift while not on the brakes but downshifting these inline 4's at highish RPM is quite tricky. You do see a lot of riders who don't know how to safely blip the throttle on downshifts use excessively high RPM (I used to be one of them when I went from single cylinder bikes to multis).
@@Chris-ev7xo The shift light was almost continuously on. If the machine itself (presumably designed by really smart people) is telling you to shift via a shift light, then that's a good indication you should shift.
rookie rider my man needs way more seat time i would suggest get a advanced riding lesson or something you way too stiff on the bike in my opinion and you never shift whats up with that

Modern bikes do not need the use of the clutch on upshifts, even without a quick shifter. Also next time get hooked up with an instructor that will show you proper lines.
More practice you will get faster and faster and you going to start dialing in the suspension, etc. I remember my first track day. I was a rookie but never pushed myself because I was not comfortable on my ZX-7R stage III. Overall with more laps in I was getting faster and better in the turns. Then I became pro. What I’m saying is only go fast enough that you feel comfortable with and more practice runs you’re going to get better. Never push yourself out of your comfort zone. I seen to many mistakes by others when they push themselves to the extremes.
You wanna learn how to ride at a TD…..go find the guy the guy with the most jacked up leathers and bike….he will probably be the one smoking everyone. My friend Pete use to show up with duct tape holding his leathers together and a heavy ass TL1000R and absolutely destroy everyone at the track. It was so annoying He also won a supermoto title his first season on one. Ridiculous talent with anything with wheels

@@wishesm3 I'm glad you didn't take it personal. My 1st track day was in 1987 at Willow Springs on a bone stock '86 FZ600 with slicks on it. To put no pressure on myself my goal was just to break 2 minutes on 2.5 mile track. My 1st lap was 1:56 and after full day(40 miles) I got down to 1:46. To be fair I had already done a lot of canyon racing on my RD350 the past 5 years or so and a lot of that at night so my level of experience was pretty decent. Track time was expensive back then so I can imagine a quite a bit more now but, try to do as much as often. I did club racing so I could go out every month and track fees were included in race fees. Put a new set of tires on every month and it adds up quickly.

The tach should never be below 10,000 & from the 13 sign you should be flat open
