A very nice tree which will improve in time. Maybe it would look much nicer if it was potted into a glazed pot with a colour that contrasts with the flowers. A great video for people who own azaleas but are unsure or frightened as to how and when to prune them. Thanks.

On another issue just yesterday(5th Aug 2023) I removed about 60% of the leaves off my field maple after a lot of the leaves were looking nasty from I think a caterpillar or something, I know defoliation is usually done perhaps end of June up to maybe mid July, what are your thoughts on this..
Hi Graham, we do partial defoliation all the way through the growing season. Probably don’t take off 60% in one go normally though. Maybe a quarter up to a third. Can’t see it being a problem though
