- Hi everyone,
We went for a loooong drive from Brisbane to Sydney for new year’s eve! It took us 15.5 hours in total which includes breakfast, a quick Kmart shopping, lunch, toilet stops and change of drivers. It was tiring and with God’s grace and guidance, we arrived in Sydney safe. 😊

I remember I did the same trip 10 years ago. Because there was a long portion of journey, A1, were not a freeway (even a two lane road), we had to stop in Gold Coast and in New Castle. I wonder if A1 is now all freeways.
Almost all freeway now except for New Castle :)

Brisbane to Sydney isnt that far in Australian terms, only a one day drive. The distance from Brisbane to Sydney is only a fraction of the Australian east coast let alone the rest of Australia.
That looks amazing! I’m doing the same Drive this month, with my family. Got a 4 year old and a 10 month old 😊
It’s a great drive along the coast and lots to see. :) Plenty of rest stops all the way to Sydney. All the best for your upcoming drive and bring plenty of snacks and little toys for the kids. 😊

Nice video. I'm planning to do this trip this year. Drive from Brissie and 4-5 days in Sydney. And then drive to Melbourne + Great Ocean Road from there, stay there for 3-4 days and then drive back to Brissie. Do you think thats doable with 3 drivers in the car taking turns to drive?
I think it’s very doable..we’ve done that a couple of years ago and only 2 drivers taking turns :)

We did but not shown on the video 😅 we have to stop frequently and take the kids out of the car for a play/walk otherwise it will be chaos.
15 hrs it’s only a 6 hr drive
Good for you for doing it for only 6 hrs drive. 👍 It must have been exhausting! We have kids and we make sure to stop and rest every 2hrs of driving. Better to be on the safe and enjoyable side. :)
Christmas holiday time, everyone is traveling. Its worst time if year for traffic unfortunately.
