I'm American and went to Melbourne for the grand prix and just drove the opposite route to Sydney to visit family yesterday, I found it quite enjoyable and relaxing with the nice scenery.
My mate and I did the majority of this drive in March 2023, 2 weeks after we got our P1 licences, we ended up stopping in a rest stop in Gunning, then Albury for dinner, then we turned off the Hume at Benalla to avoid tolls in Melbourne, that back turned out to be quite a fun road to drive down, especially at night. We’re glad we split the driving otherwise it would’ve been way too tiring.
Thanks for sharing this video❤ I’ll be driving this route next week, can you pls give me some advise? I want to drive easy, thinking to stop at Goulburn, and will spend a night before arrive in Melbourne, which city will you suggest? Thank you 🙏
Glad you enjoyed the video! Not too much advice I can give in terms of where to stop for a rest stop... the halfway points seem to be at around Gundagai, Albury and Holbrook, you can also consider going into Wagga Wagga if you're alright with taking a little bit of a detour
Very cool video. I like seeing these videos in high speed as you can see a lot of the country in a short time. As an American, it is very interesting how the most populated parts of Australia, the eastern side, are relatively empty. Seriously, it looks comparable to the American inner west or the plains of Kansas. I like it. Is this a toll road, as it did seem like I saw a travel plaza? It looked well maintained. Beautiful drive. I appreciate you sharing this. It is probably the closest I'll ever get to actually driving in Australia.
Thanks for the kind words! Only the M5 was tolled in the entire trip, the M31 Hume Highway was completely toll free from start to finish. Definitely a well maintained road that is capable of doing speeds way faster than its limit! Shame there’s only a few of these in Australia 😅
I can imagine the copper pulling this car over and telling the driver that he is not allowed to drive at 1984.77 kilometers per hour, or Mac 2.6, in a 100 km/h speed limit.... I can just imagine the speeding ticket for that!
I have done that trip 3 times in a day it 4hr and 30min one way so I have done 12hr drive without stopping. Temora to Sydney early morning then back to Temora in the afternoon then went back to sydney at night then I got someone to take me home from Sydney
Thank you so much! I do use Premiere to edit, Photoshop to do the graphics, and I probably spend more time than I needed to on making them… these videos literally take longer to make than the drive now!
Sorry I forgot to change the description... but yeah I did upload the real time version of this video that works on UA-cam, just without audio due to copyright reasons: ua-cam.com/video/FKFsbupcdLI/v-deo.html
You got the roads in Melbourne all wrong - C727 Wallan-Wittlesea Road - half-diamond interchange serving partial-Y - C723 Donnybrook Road - Modified double-trumpet interchange - MR55 Sydney "Hume Highway" Road - partial-Y interchange serving half-diamond - B716 O'Hearns Road - diamond interchange and transition into local road (brand new spur road, and shields are being passively phased out) - MR58 Cooper Street - diamond interchange
Thank you for the corrections! Yeah these junctions are a bit tedious to make... normally I watch netflix at the same time as making them so I can make a bit of mistakes sometimes, and it seems when I got to the Melbourne part I was... way too tired out already! Although I will say... I don't think I got MR58 wrong, and I don't think I added C727, C723 and B716 in? I obviously can't do all of them because that will overload the video!
I'd say around 2,100km/h, which is 1,990km/h over the speed limit. According to the NSW Road Rules 2014, Rule 20, exceeding the limit by over 45km/h in a class A vehicle will result in a fine of $2,616, 6 demerit points as well as a 6 month licence suspension. Whether or not I actually got convicted of that is totally up for interpretation 🤔

I just bought a car in Sydney and will be driving it back to Melbourne, it’s great to see the route . Thanks for the trip!
Thanks for the kind words, glad you enjoyed the journey. Have fun driving your new car back to Melbourne!
Excellent presentation. Progress bar on top, playback speed x20 indicator, and GPS speed with coordinates. Pleasant music as well. 👏
Thank you so much for the kind words! Glad to see my blood, sweat and tears didn't go away for nothing 😅

Wow that’s interesting. As a person who regularly flies between the two cities it certainly is interesting to see the scenery from the ground!
That would have been a great comment, if only you didn’t lie about it 😂
@@MightyEagle073 Yeah find I don’t regularly fly. I am not that rich. 😅
@@CowsFriend1333 Then get a job 🤷♂️
Comment if you think M31 should turn into an Autobahn-like system

What is the sotware used to display the route info overlay of thr video
Adobe Premiere Pro, I manually edited all of those in...
Just did this weeks ago. I found the drive interesting.
I have done Temora to Sydney and back without stopping
Glad you're still alive! I think most I've ever done is Brisbane to Kempsey. Remember not to push it!

Well you certainly do drive a lot 💪 Great video as always! Loved the editing, do you use Premiere Pro to edit?

Why is the real time not allowed on UA-cam ?

@@MightyEagle073 Actually MR55 is indeed the correct route for Sydney road
23:07 The M39 takes you to Brisbane via Shepparton
Once again not quite 😂 ends at Toowoomba, although I am planning to do a trip from Melbourne to Brisbane via the M39/A39 sometime next year!
Wow all that way without any breaks! I wonder if Professional truck drivers are allowed to do that without being put in jail !!
Yeah, I completely did not take any breaks at all! Totally not! Whatever happened at 8:19 and 16:37 were just illusions... please someone arrest me...
R.I.P Tarcutta
O please No This Failed Again We Called 30:00 Minutes of Watching This 2:10
But We are not Going Back Until Now 14:09
This is For Perth And Also Darwin 15:51
You will note Melbourne has far more impressive freeway signs
from sydney to melbourne your halfway point be albury
Albury is a little bit closer to Melbourne than Sydney… I’d say Tarcutta is closer to the halfway point.
If we do the math the car is driving at 1600 km an hour, give or take a few k's correct me if I'm wrong.
