Try drinking a pint of water with your meal bars, thats what I do when Im craving midnight snacks.
The cereal bars soak up the water and fill you up :P

Im not sure about the slimfast protein shakes, but generally I have found they do wonders for weight loss and appetite reduction. I personally recommend the brand for goodness shakes, even with one of their 25 gram shakes it is very filling and fairly thick, as you claimed to prefer.
What I will say is that compared to most diets you have tried this should work, since the goal with protein products is to supply you with good amounts of all the nutrients you need thus making the body crave less, at least in theory, and as you saw the amount given in the shakes is pretty substantial for the calories..
Speaking as someone who's lost over 90 pounds, this kind of shit definitely can't be sustainable. Nothing wrong with a protein shake or bar every now and then, but good habits are best for the long term. Eat whole foods, count your calories, work out, blammo. I'll be interested in seeing where this goes on an experimental basis, but I definitely feel like it's not a good overall strategy - especially when it seems like you are severely limiting your caloric intake, whereas it's not really needed as much as people think.
I agree man. You need the recommended 3000 calories (roughly) a day to keep you going. Especially if you're a person with a job such as a builder or anything else manual labour-wise.
+Max Scardanelli Maybe if you're a manual labourer, but 2100 or something sounds more reasonable. That's my goal to slowly lose weight but not go hungry at least.

2500 for a lady, 2700 for a guy, and if you have a fast digestive system or thyroid trouble, have a job that asks a lot ofb labor or is pdychological, emotional heavy, or consists of very hard thinking sessions as ex. an architect, or writer for a living. But also people rehabilitating after surgery or accidents, people who sport a lot, or are proffessional sporters, tc etc. Those people have more intake necessary. ( only talking bout adults). Pregnancy, a little more, not doubling the intake, and beeing in trauma-therapy, also gives a burning of way more calories then not doing that.

Slimfast is actually rather good overall, as you seem to be finding out. The stuff tastes good, as long as you like the flavors they provide; and even without the box you're likely to find something you do like. Overall this is gonna be a better and likely more enjoyable diet week then your previous ones.

Some people indulge too much so they need prepackaged portions

I hope you shook the bottle of the milkshake first.. it makes a huge difference for thickness and overall enjoyment (especially since a lot of the heavier ingredients sink to the bottom, so you want it mixed)

Not even kidding, that couch looks comfortable. SlimFast can taste pretty horrible but it does an alright job of suppressing hunger. Works about as well as chugging a protein drink when you're hungry at irregular hours. Looking forward to this, though - I always love the _Week On_ series :D

it works I cut out coffee sodas exercised did the plan to the detail and lost 20 lbs in a month. i was strict on this though

I'm actually been doing the Calorie Count diet, try to stick to only having less then 2,000 calories a day, and it's been working pretty well. In link around 6-7 weeks, I lost 13lbs.

I find those Slimfast bottled shakes have more sugar then the tin version, I've been on those tin since December 2015 and I find that I was 20 stone when I began my diet and now I'm around 12 stone so ye I'm proof that they do work, some people say that it doesn't work but I proved it does, I'm still trying to get down to 10 stone and work 2 stone back up with muscle.

It amuses me that you said that this diet plan lets you snack on "healthy things or Slim Fast things" (with the implication being that the Slim Fast things are not healthy -- probably true!)
I was doing the math -- all those bars and snacks added up to just under 600 calories and then your supper was probably about 600 calories all on its own (depending on how you cooked the chips and egg.) What if you had the "sensible meal" for lunch and a shake or bar for supper so you're not starving by the end of the day? Or would that just make things harder?
The chocolate and vanilla flavors are the better tasting ones IMO.
Also if you have a cold, you could drink the sleepy time tea sinus soothers. That is, if you don't have a problem with camomile.
Next: A Week On Water. Technically, he would survive since we can go without food for like a month.

My mom lived on Alba Fit & Frosty in the 80s. And she's wasn't anywhere near being overweight. But back then everyone was always on a diet anyway or popping Dexatrim all day.
It seems like if you can survive to the final meal of the day, you'll be alright. This seems actually reasonable.

well ... this isn't the worst diet you have done.
Very low calorie diets are mainly meant for medical reasons such as if you need to have surgery and are carrying too much weight. Not sure if you are meant to stay on them for a long time and you would get sick of it. I did end up eating the bars for breakfast for about six months because it was quicker than having breakfast.
The easy way to lose (some) weight is to just to keep eating the same mass of food but replace it with something better that has less calories.
The easiest place to start is replacing soda with tea/coffee/water that has no sugar. Guaranteed 10 pounds lost right there.

How does the evening meal work? I can't see greasy chips,greasy egg and ham being healthy at all, beans are fine for fibre and carbs but the rest is awful.
The idea behind the evening meal is to get you to work within a 500cal budget to learn to make healthy choices and portions. I think Mike perhaps skipped reading that part of the meal plan though.

You need to drink plenty of water throughout the day, I am on day 6 and I havnt been hungrey at all with the plan, I drink plenty of water to fill me up

So, what if someone ate all of the day's stuff all at once and then didn't eat again at all until the dinnertime meal? I feel like I could do a diet like this like that feeling really full and then just not eating until night. Or would the calories at once distribution mess things up?
+Guilmon470 Can't imagine it would, but I expect you'd get hungry again a lot faster than you'd expect. I think that's the reason they try to spread them out like that.
You'd spike your GI and be hunger again quicker than if you spread out eating over the course of a day.
+Cor Blimey huh. that's how it works. hey, does drinking all of my water bottle before exercising different from drinking throughout exercising? as I do that.
+stone sherrill the idea of drinking water when exercising is to replaced water lost during respiration and sweating. I suppose if you drank all your water before exercising you would have the water in your body ready to lose, rather than constantly topping up during exercise.
In short, I don't particularly know.

i've done something similar to this one, but i combine special k with it, it works if you can get used to it, the problem is when you get off of it... you gain the weight a bit fast unless you figure out size control on eating

I am 42 & have come to realise that diets are just a quick fix, the weight you lose is hard to keep off when you return to your old ways.
Healthy eating, life style and everything in moderation is the only way
The trick is not returning to your old ways lol. Of course you're going to get fat if you keep eating the stuff that previously made you fat and if you're losing weight before you fall off the plan then it means that the plan worked. 99% of weight loss is motivation.
I'd definitely try this but they don't sell this starter pack in the US, and won't ship it here from the UK. Why? No fucking idea.

I'm trying out soylent myself because I've been too lazy after working 60 hours a week to actually cook food other than microwave burritos. Should suit me fine. Ordered a month's worth and it'll be here tuesday. Got the bottled kind and turns out that it's 3 57lb boxes.
SuperLoopholes I also tried it, it doesn't taste too bad and it kills the hunger... but after a while you'll miss to have something "between your teeth" xD

Cor Blimey overall he ignored the directions on a diet quite a bit, and didn't even make it a week without varying massively (cheeseburger)
If you really want to lose a shitload of weight, I can recommend catching a dose of that nasty flu that's going round the UK at the moment. I was ill with it for over 8 weeks, I didn't feel like eating (some days I had to force myself to have a slice of bread and butter) and I threw up a lot with coughing so much. I've lost a ton of weight - my clothes are hanging off me and, now I've stopped coughing and sneezing 24/7, I've found that I'm not getting out of breath half as much when I'm out and about.
