Maybe Slimfast are purposely sending chocolate in the week pack because at the end you will be so tired of chocolate that you will never touch it in years.
Did anyone else outside of the UK think to themselves "Mike really shouldn't be filming himself while driving" before realizing that he was in the passenger seat?
Speaking as someone who works at Superdrug and has sold hundreds of Slim Fast items over the last 9 months, I'll say that they don't offer other flavored meal replacement bars (you have choices of Chocolate Crunch, Chocolate Peanut, and Summer Berry), but we do have meal replacement noodles (which for some reason weren't included in the starter kit even though they would've added much needed variety) in Spaghetti Bolognese, Chicken Tikka and Spicy Thai flavors. As for the milkshakes, there are indeed banana and vanilla flavors as well as Rich Chocolate (not included in your starter kit). If that's enough variety for you, you might consider continuing the diet. And before anybody asks, no i wasn't paid to promote Slim Fast's products, i'm just trying to inform you of everything they have to offer, make your own decision.
Hi! I found your channel when I searched for Slim Fast Diet. You did a great job with this trial. I was surprised to hear your were hungry. Those shakes usually keep hunger away for hours for me. But we're all different. I'm about to do the diet all through May 2018 with any subscribers that would like to join me. We'll add exercise (since I'm a personal trainer). I think I'd like to add the option of natural snacks like bananas, nuts, or hard boiled eggs instead of their bars. My goal is to lose about 10 lbs. on these shakes, and then go back to healthy eating and exercise to maintain it. I'm subscribed and loving your channel!
I'm literally about to take off and get Burger King right now. I stumbled on this video by accident. Now I feel guilty. ...... still gonna get that burger tho.
The videos that start with him in bed looking at me directly always concern me, like we just spent the night together trying a late-night infomercial product called the "Wowzer Wangle".
I'm currently doing this diet so I thought I'd check out how you did with it. Thank you for being VERY relatable during this week on. I'm really struggling with Slimfast, I don't mind the shakes but I feel hungry after and I find myself wanting to eat everything in the fridge because evening meal is too far away. I snack on apples but I do miss a nice breakfast and lunch. Its a tough one.
I kept thinking at how much more food you could have had with the amount of calories per bar. For example, for 210 calories you could have eaten a 4 ounce chicken breast and a hard boiled egg. That would have filled you up a lot more than a tiny bar.
Yuck I hate bars they are sometimes too sweet for me. I replaced my breakfast for 1 slimfast vanilla shake and lunch for 1 vanilla shake. So I take 2 shakes a day with 3 snacks under 100 calories and one 500/600 healthy dinner. But you don't have to go with slim fast you can just get other snacks from other brands that are under 100 calories it's even cheaper.
Lol funniest review ever, love the 5lb weight loss, but he could've had a piece of fruit with every bar. But so worth it I'm starting the shakes today maybe I will try some bars.
I didn't bother buying the "starter kit", I just bought the shake powder, which on offer was £5 at Sainsbury's and I usually do it like this, Using a Blender I will add 500ml of water, then 2 scoops of slimfast powder, it tastes surprisingly nice and since it's water then the calories are half of what they say on the box, although I only do this because I prefer to have a decent meal on the night not a 600 calorie meal more like an 800 calorie meal. I don't feel hungry either maybe more because I'm full of water but I'd recommend trying it, only been doing it for 4 days though, but I feel that I can stick to it and I don't feel groggy :).
you know what would really help stave your cravings during these crazy purge sessions you have? drink lots and lots of water. you will be amazed at how much it helps hunger pangs.
This is why people wonder why they put weight on, they think they can have 2500 calories when really their max calorie need is in reality under 2000 calories, the guidelines are useless because everyone is a different height/weight/age/exercise for the day all which changes how many calories you actually need.
+RealistReviewer well, and on top of that, those dinners he had were horrible health wise. You still need to eat "healthy" dinners especially on meal replacement diets. as usual, the best diet is to just eat healthy meals, of smaller portions than we're used to. Cut about a 1/4th to a 1/3 off of your usual portion off what you already eat, and you'll lose weight. It's just all self control, and people suck with that.
+RealistReviewer well, normal people dont think about calories at all. i was one of those. i now that i learned how to do it, i tried to teach some friends who tell me to shut the fuck off.
1.your wrong 2.im living proof 3. i work in the building trade and work my ass off all day i eat 3k+ calories a day and weigh 170lbs im 5,10 and i have barely put on or lost any weight in 2 years go figure another guy on youtube giving out bollox advice lol 4. if your predictions was right i should of put on around four stone in 2 years lol
No he's not? He said your lifestyle affects what calories you need - which is true. You can eat that many calories because you're 5'10 and do a lot of exercise all day in the trade. You need that food to sustain the work you do. I'm 5'3 (woman) and if I ate the recommended '2000' calories a day with my sedentary lifestyle I would gain weight. I eat somewhere around 1400. Which keeps me at a reasonable weight. I know this because I was eating 2000 and I got fatter. Numbers are not worth obsessing over but if you're gaining weight it's because what you eat has more calories than what you burn - and for some people that means they need less than 2.5K even if they're a man.
Mike, you should do a week on the 'Flexible dieting/IIFYM" plan and report back on the ease of it. Personally speaking I am interested to try incorporating it but my macros to loose weight are 197g carbs 198g protein 59g fat and I am a 'was born into it' vegetarian. So the protein part of the equation is really difficult to figure out for me. (Ps if anyone can give me suggestions on what to do feel free to reply back) I think out of all the diets out there this one makes the most amount of sense but counting and keeping track of things is unbeknownst to me. Great series and please keep them coming!
I called SlimFast,I live in the States and asked about hunger and what to do if I felt it was not filling enough to me. I was told I could have another shake and 100 cal snack if necessary and keep an eye on the scale. As long as I was losing it would be ok. I then asked what about an extra meal like a diet frozen meal and was told as long as the scale cooperates,do this. So my way of working Slimfast is to start with a 1500-1600 calories a day diet so that I don't feel hungry and fall off the weight loss Journey, exercise or walk more and this should work eventually scaling down to the 1200 calorie version which is a more livable approach and far less expensive than other diets out there.
I have Bern on slim fast for 7 weeks now , 3 shajes a day with no snacks . First two weeks were hard , psychologically not eating anything. But on week 5 I git used to it . Now week 7 I occasionally have two meals a week . Rest in slim fast shajes . But I am not preoccupied with food, getting on with my life and with a shake I can go on gor five hours before next shake . If u pre occupy yrself with foid then u get hungry all the time .
2500 calories is the max for a large man who works all day doing physical labour, it's not really a guide any Western man should go for (unless your a laborer/miner etc), if you do you will get fat! Surprise surprise! 2500 is way too much... there are so many men who are fat because they think you're allowed 2500 calories, if you sit on your arse most of the day you should be eating more like 2000 or under to maintain a healthy weight. For you Mike if you walk every day or do light exercise every day given your build and height, I'd say 2000-2100 calories max, but it's better if you calculate it yourself, ignore the 2500 figure it's not a one size fits all amount.. The reason they give 2500 is they had to give a figure, so they will go for the largest possible amount to ensure people get enough to work etc, really they should give no figure and tell people how to work out the right calorie intake for them.
Why not try just eating what you normally eat but measuring and weighing it out so you can count the calories in it? Weight loss and gain follows the pretty simple rule of calories in:calories out. You eat more calories than you use up, you gain weight. You eat less calories than you use up, you lose weight. Just look up your total daily energy expenditure and eat below that to lose weight or around it to maintain.
+Othelie Moor True, this is pretty entertaining, but I think I could settle for just infomercialism and his one off videos as a trade off for him remaining consistently healthy.
Were those dinners really 600cal? They looked much higher! Makes me wonder if you wouldn't get the same results having two 600 cal dinners a day and just skipping breakfast or lunch.
When you start eating normally, you will get at least half of that back in a couple of days. That's because at least half of that lost weight on the first week is body fluids. If you were to continue with the same diet, you would see that on the second week you lose significantly less. Trying this for one week is deceptive.
+WarpRulez honestly i like these more for entertainment value than expecting actual results. peoples' weight fluctuates up to 10lbs on any given time anyway. seeing him suffering hunger and chocolate boredom is definitely the appeal.
+Dan Coleman-Goss if a diet doesnt call for it he wont exercise. And afaik he has only done diets so far that dont require exercise, because that makes the fact that they claim to work more baffling/interesting.
As far as I'm aware, the snacks are to keep your metabolism going throughout the day...which is why you're meant to have so many! 'Little and often' as the saying goes, is a way some people lose weight. You kept missing them though..also you really should have had more fruit and veg...and water.. :P Personally I love the Cafe Latte flavour shakes but I love cold coffee drinks. I've done this diet and successfully list weight whilst feeling healthy. Everyone's different, I guess.
+glitterbunny Metabolism doesn't really work that way. Eat one meal a day, eat 20, your body doesn't actually care as long as you've gotten enough fuel.
+MarginalSC That was a very poorly informed statement. There is a big difference between eating an entire days worth of food in one sitting verse gradually throughout the day. Your body cares quite a bit, actually.
MarginalSC I think I'll just let you believe you know what you're talking about. This is starting to look like a conversation that wastes a huge amount of time and gets nowhere.
+Andrew Murray Yeah wrong name for Cottage pie, quoting the bullshit 2500 calorie figure when it depends on many factors... Mike's full of incorrectness today :D
Keto diet. Eat lots of fat, some protein, little carbs. Take in fat; fat is burned off. Take in carbs; turns into fat for storage, not burning. Simple as that. Research it. I'm on the diet right now. Lots of great recipes. I had a bacon cheeseburger casserole last night. With lots of cheese. Yep, this is keto.
That is why you can buy them separately. Different flavors. Fast weight maximum one month! Not healthy because to me the best diet it is the one from the Weight Watchers.
Mike, for the autobiography, make it "Dreaming of dinner" rather than "Always dreaming of dinner". It sounds more gripping i feel... (i work in a book store, so i kinda/sort of/not really/really know what i'm talking about)
I hadn't realized how thoroughly the Brits have also been brainwashed into believing that butter is unhealthy, and that a healthy diet must be low in fat. (At a Tesco in England last year I couldn't find dripping, as in beef tallow. I was in a big hurry and didn't ask, and it would have been a pain to take home...) Eat a high-fat diet (preferably with not too much protein or carbohydrate) and skipping a meal is easy. Most people are now certain that such a diet is dangerous, so I don't know why I'm writing this... Anyway I'm impressed with Mike's fortitude.
+markiangooley, fat isn't especially unhealthy (unless you eat so much you eat too many calories, which is very easy since it's highly caloric). Butterfat does seem to be unhealthy if you eat too much of it, and saturated fats in general.
I don't understand diets, the world needs variety so we need fat people. Not everyone can be as gorgeous, well endowed and slim as I am... We need the blubber butts and ginger freaks etc
2500 calories is way too much intake (Unless you are fairly active during the day or extremely tall). I'm 6'1'' and I only need around 2200-2300 (And that's because I am moderately active during the day).
There is a vanilla shake. The vanilla shake tastes awful. Maybe they push the chocolate and strawberry stuff hard because the chocolate and strawberry stuff tastes the best.
Fats, oils, and butters aren't what make meals unhealthy. Fat is good for you, in moderation, just like anything else. Most people's worst offense is overeating in general, especially carbs (bread, rice, pasta being the big 3). All carbs break down into sugar, and sugar will definitely make you gain weight. The idea that "fat is unhealthy" is unfortunately a very old and antique way of thinking that just won't seem to die. That being said, that slimfast diet seems super gimmicky. Of course people might see results after 7 days of undereating, but it doesn't seem very nutritious. Cheers!
a shepherds pie is only made with lamb, and a cottage pie is made with any meat excluding lamb. what you've got there friend is a cottage pie. (sorry its a pet peeve of mine)
+Connor Hudson Yeah cottage pie for sure, I used to love eating lamb.. then I got tumors and I gotto avoid red meat because it causes them, especially if you eat tons :/
Here's hoping that next time you do one of these "A Week On" series, it's the Atkins Diet, as it'd be interesting if you could verify the results of this documentary. www.dailymotion.com/video/x3pq8dv_a-documentary-for-cutlerylover_lifestyle
Pretty sure what you got is meant for an average size woman but even if not I have to wonder. With the amount of sweet stuff in it & mostly chocolate wouldn't this thing give you diabetis in the long run?
Just wanted to point out at 1:41 Mike is wearing the same clothes as he did the previous day (at 4:53). Maybe a subtle nod to the monotony of the diet? Nah, i don't think he's that smart XD
+kiahixxie18 There is no magic number, the guide is the maximum to do a one size fits all, but people end up getting fat following that guide, the best thing is to use an online calculator to work it out, it depends on how much exercise that day, how much you weight, how tall you are, so many factors... this 2500/2000 calorie figure they give is complete nonsense.
kiahixxie18 No worries I know :) , just pointing our their guideline (which is based on the stupid WHO guidelines) is one of the reasons many people are fat in the first place, we think we can have 2000/2500 when in reality it's usually a few hundred less :/
seeing mike work through this diet with as much difficulty as he had controling hunger (which is much more food than his "three glasses of juice a day diet") I don't believe his juicing diet was credible. he must've cheated, there is no way, he could've done the diet he portrayed on his juice week without cheating.
they do banana, caramel and vanilla why they didnt include them is what makes me think :/ there is another pack with noodles though would of been good to be sent that one
Maybe Slimfast are purposely sending chocolate in the week pack because at the end you will be so tired of chocolate that you will never touch it in years.
those bastards are geniuses
Did anyone else outside of the UK think to themselves "Mike really shouldn't be filming himself while driving" before realizing that he was in the passenger seat?
+Bryan Minnix Every damn time. XD
+Bryan Minnix I figured he's just went mad with hunger and was driving in the wrong lane in an attempt to end it all.
+Bryan Minnix Same here.I thought he was driving too.
+Bryan Minnix That's exactly what I came to the comments to say. I was like, "AAAAAAAHHHHH! Mike, watch the road!"

i realized half way through this video that i was sitting watching a man on a diet eating a burger king and felt bad, then i carried on eating.

well, you can eat burgers and lose weight... so dont feel bad! ( just stop drinking soda )

Because prepping for those things are hard for some people or some ppl are just too lazy to do that

Lol funniest review ever, love the 5lb weight loss, but he could've had a piece of fruit with every bar. But so worth it I'm starting the shakes today maybe I will try some bars.
Maybe instead of saying a prayer before the diet meal, rub Reverend Popoff's cloth thingy as a diet version of religion.

Green tea bag with your coffee in your travel mug. Money saved and diet achieved, chocolate free. :P

wow, you did great, someone should give the man a *chocolate* cookie.
+Rounak Dutta How about a personal chocolate cake?
How about a meal replacement bar
How about a latte flavoured shake?
Alex Yates you guys are cruel af.

Well done Mike! Have some nice chocolate fudge cake with chocolate icing, chocolate cream and powered chocolate topping to celebrate. :)
Next, try a week on the "raw 'till 4" diet. Not sure how well it works, but I do know one thing: it allows unlimited calories.
That would be great!

Mike's weight gain and weight loss fluctuates as frequently as Jonah Hill's, though to a much much lesser extent.
Maybe just do the calorie plan. Like a 200 cal breakfast. 100 cal snack etc with the 600 cal dinner. Can make your own variety.
About the scale... Glass is a reflective surface.
That Shepherd's Pie was nicely deconstructed. I have no idea how anybody could do that with a pie!

Who gives a shit how many calories you take in?
It's not like you'll be carrying the coffin.
+King Edward "Longshanks" I, Hammer of the Scots, Lord of Wales and King of England LOL, you're an ass...I like it
It's the "Brewsters Millions" lesson, they make you hate eating chocolate so you don't touch it again in your normal diet.
Did the order the starter pack online? I haven't seen anything like them in supermarkets before.
at least in the states they show up every once in a wile in markets but internet is probly your best bet to find them
They are $150 on Amazon...
Snorlax I bought a weeks milkshake powder at Walmart for 7 bucks, better than a starter pack :)
Just love your dry humour 😊
9:07 A tear of joy, or relief perhaps? :D
I hadn't realized how thoroughly the Brits have also been brainwashed into believing that butter is unhealthy, and that a healthy diet must be low in fat.
(At a Tesco in England last year I couldn't find dripping, as in beef tallow. I was in a big hurry and didn't ask, and it would have been a pain to take home...)
Eat a high-fat diet (preferably with not too much protein or carbohydrate) and skipping a meal is easy.
Men are supposed to drink 2 shakes or eat 2 bars each time.
huh, when my mom makes shepard's pie she puts EVERYTHING into the mashed potato.
I don't understand diets, the world needs variety so we need fat people. Not everyone can be as gorgeous, well endowed and slim as I am... We need the blubber butts and ginger freaks etc
Well done Mike
2500 calories is way too much intake (Unless you are fairly active during the day or extremely tall).
I'm 6'1'' and I only need around 2200-2300 (And that's because I am moderately active during the day).
IIRC men need to add 200 calories per meal replacement. I’m sure it mentions it in the guide pamphlet as well as exercise and water.
There is a vanilla shake. The vanilla shake tastes awful. Maybe they push the chocolate and strawberry stuff hard because the chocolate and strawberry stuff tastes the best.
did u workout?
I made a compilation of everytime he complains of being hungry or starving. it's 90 second long...
Did you loose any weight. It is hard to tell if you did or not.
Do a week on Joylent. :) I've done it for months now and feeling great. Much better than those Slim fast shite.
Thats about 2,54 KG, making Mike around 90 KG
Oh, you eat healthy, do you? You tell us, those that are still judging you from eating that burger at Legoland, this? We believe you.
Maybe that's Slim Fast's trick, making you not want to eat chocolate and therefore lose weight.
...Also
Totally want to see Mike try the soup diet.
Cheers!
Guten Morgen! Harry Wijnvoord would be proud of you!
Correction... butter, animal fat and natural oils are all things that are good for you. But well done on sticking through.
You would've been less hungry in the morning if you have the evening snacks.
Next on "A week on...": Soylent! www.soylent.com/
You know you want to.
Please try a full meal replacement diet and video it.
a shepherds pie is only made with lamb, and a cottage pie is made with any meat excluding lamb. what you've got there friend is a cottage pie. (sorry its a pet peeve of mine)
+Connor Hudson I'm not wasting expensive lamb on a pie.
+JetblackThemeTime i wasnt telling you to?
+Connor Hudson Yeah cottage pie for sure, I used to love eating lamb.. then I got tumors and I gotto avoid red meat because it causes them, especially if you eat tons :/
+RealistReviewer I eat mostly chicken and fish. Red meat now and then but not in huge amounts.
Alexandria Thorne Smart move, really it fits into everything in moderation, including Red meat.
Congrats on making it! Almost seemed like torture!
+BygPhattyPlus All diets are torture, better to just cut back on portions...
+RealistReviewer That in itself is a diet...
A large meal a day with a ton of snacks really isn't torture at all. It isn't exactly the cabbage soup diet.
oh! morning Mike!
I don't know why, but I kind of love watching Mike starve himself. I guess I'm a sadist.
Good series Mike
Here's hoping that next time you do one of these "A Week On" series, it's the Atkins Diet, as it'd be interesting if you could verify the results of this documentary.
www.dailymotion.com/video/x3pq8dv_a-documentary-for-cutlerylover_lifestyle
Hiya yes they do a banana shake vanilla to raspberry and white chocolate zara 😂
Please do the chocolate laxatives and ballerina tea diet next.
Can you eat fruit in-between as well?
I feel so petty but it's not shepherds pie if it's turkey mince :p
I'm dieting and taking garcina Cambodia I loose 5lbs in. Week just on garcina Cambodia alone
Anyone else read Slimefest?
So how many viewer crates of chocolate did you get after this video?
You are hilarious!
As a man your meant to have 800 calories for your evening meal its 600 for women
+kiahixxie18 Depends on the body height.
I was simply stating what slimfast put as there guidelines since that is what he was following
kiahixxie18 No worries I know :) , just pointing our their guideline (which is based on the stupid WHO guidelines) is one of the reasons many people are fat in the first place, we think we can have 2000/2500 when in reality it's usually a few hundred less :/
+kiahixxie18 Looking at the portion of pie he had...that was more than 600 cal. Calories sneak up on you :p
Starvation works!!
that moment when he fixed his hair on camera 😂😂😂
Im sure as hell chocolate diet is really healthy!
After that What's next a week on the toilet, least you have the stool to use
And a mini golf set.
And you can piss in the putter.
3:55 Mike, you're doing it wrong! You're driving on the wrong side of the road! :D
How tall are you?
Next...Cheese diet!!!!
I'm not sure if you're still doing these but you should try soylent for a week!
seeing mike work through this diet with as much difficulty as he had controling hunger (which is much more food than his "three glasses of juice a day diet") I don't believe his juicing diet was credible. he must've cheated, there is no way, he could've done the diet he portrayed on his juice week without cheating.
I had ice cream for breakfast today...tonsillitis isn't entirely without merit.
they do banana, caramel and vanilla why they didnt include them is what makes me think :/ there is another pack with noodles though would of been good to be sent that one
