Hi there. It was a great idea to buy and use bimmercode app or carly app and adapter.Bimmercode app is much cheaper than Carly app.I am using Carly and Bimmercode as well.Did you checked how often Police changed oil and filters in your BMW before you buy this car??.Greetings from Dublin
I've used my adapter to do similar things on my 330d ,stop start being the first to go. Rear lights on was a good one to do. Did the instant folding mirrors and some other stuff I can't remember lol. Digital speedo display is quite useful if yours supports it. I have seen options for something called "indicators ",can you tell me what these are for??😁
Same reason I bought mine. Drove me nuts...........I drive 50 mile to work and stop twice before I get there. Surely this start stop has a detrimental effect on your starter motor plus other stuff as well. i also bought the Autell Ap200 which I think is brilliant. One can set all things up with this tool. I..e injectors.
Cars that have a stop-start system don’t just cut the ignition. The engine is stopped with 1 cilinder just after top dead center so that it only needs ignition to start again. So the starter motor needs no or much less work do its job. Also the whole power unit is designed for this system. Some cars have an integrated generator/starter just for this purpose. I have my doubts about effectiveness of a stop-start system but I’m sure it won’t cause excessive wear.
@@Conservator. causes premature wear on the engine mounts (rocking the engine each time it starts.) I have replaced mine once and they need doing again..

Hello. Do you know if CIC dvd in motion can be encoded because the bimmercode app I have is labeled Headunit HU-NBT. Is it possible to code the CIC navi in this case if the title says NBT. My BMW f10 is 2012. Thanks.
Hey there do you know what with my 2020 440i M Sport i only get 2 options to increase the angel eyes with low beams from 46% to 100%, no in between options.
Not sure if I mentioned it in the video, but it’s a good idea to put your phone in airplane mode & just turn the Bluetooth on only. This guards against someone phoning/texting you in the middle of coding - this can be really bad, so I highly advise it 👍
Ex police cars , especially those used for blue light runs, are serviced far more regularly than makers specify. They are not "tuned" in anyway as that would invalidate warranties and they re expected to last for a considerable mileage often 24/7.
Bmw 520d f10 2011 hi I had the pedestrian protection system deleted the guy told me to disconnect the two hinge actuators the two bonnet locks and the fiberoptic cable behind the bumper, he then deleted it but later the restraint system light came on. After taking it back it’s showing error code 930A8E front centre pedestrian protection sensor coding data do not match equipment I have took it to a few coders and they all say that possibly a pps sensor still connected? At my wits end can anybody help me?
I have a 2012 f 10 bmw 520d and mirror folding is not working is there any prerequisite for this feature to work should the car must come with this option by default
No, as my car doesn’t have folding mirrors. I think most cars will have this feature, but probably not all. Mine is also an ex-police car so I doubt it was included in that specification.
Thanks Nut Job, great video. Do you know if i could delete the pedestrian protection features on my 2012 f11? Front bumper sensor strip thingy is absent. (previously damaged on the front) Thanks.
I don’t actually know, but as it’s a safety system I’d be surprised if it could be turned off. It might be easier to just replace the sensor & reset the warning light ⚠️
A lot of people don't know this but when you get out your car and iDrive stays on, it shuts off once you lock the car. You don't need to press the button twice or enable this on Bimmercode. It's suprising how many people don't know this but it's a really nice feature once you realise how it works.
Hi, Great video - convinced me to purchase Bimmercode! Can anyone answer this? You can set your DRLs to 100%, as you said you have done, but what % is the factory setting the car comes with? Bimmercode merely says the lights are currently at an 'unassigned value' which isn't very helpful. The guy at Bimmercode doesn't know, because I asked him. I read that in the States their DRLs are not as bright as European cars, so this allows them to brighten theirs. Are ours already at 100%. (Or 70%, 80%??) I'm not talking about increasing the brightness of the dimmed angel eyes with the headlights on, just straight DRLs. Any thoughts? Cheers.
I’m in England so mine are quite bright, but I’ve seen a few other UA-camrs from America with f10/11’s, and most of them say their angel eyes were set to around 25%
@@Nut_Job. Thanks. Just to clarify, am I right in thinking it’s something different from just keeping your car permanently in sports mode? Does it sharpen up Comfort mode too? (I have an ordinary 520i without M Sport or paddles.)

That’s a shame, I also like the auto handbrake but never thought to look for the settings on there. I bet it can be done via the expert mode... but I won’t be blindly trying that myself! 😂

Another excellent video. So glad the BMW is behaving, I se you still have the backup Range Rover just in case. Top guy.

At least on a Mercedes Benz they have a switch to turn the damn stop start off, but it switches back on when you re-start the engine
There’s a switch on this too. It’s just a pain turning it off every time you get in - first world problems eh....

Can I get any bt modules and it still works with app ?
No, not all BT modules work - you need to check the info on the app. It will tell you which modules work correctly 👍
Hi there I have a f11 too and I want to lower the air suspension. Does this app support that? Please a really need it. Thx

Well, mine has always been active but it speeds up the gearbox changes (I believe?). Surely ‘sport’ mode on anything generally means ‘better’... 😁
How does Automatic Sports Transmission differ from putting the car into Sport mode?
I believe it’s making slightly faster gear changes - like a few milliseconds quicker between gear changes.
