You have such an inspiring attitude - and your paintings radiate all these feelings of joy, wonder, playfullness, freedom, acceptance and spontaneity. Its really inspiring to watch you -
Omg you are a genius!!! I was just trying to brush up on things I have forgotten but you are showing me things that have never been explained. You show way more depth. Your mural of clouds on ceiling with the reds and yellows popping blue sky. Amazing and you are the king of water. You definitely make everyone a better painter. You made me realize how I have limited myself to a certain way of painting because it's the way I was shown. But now my mind is expanded to create how I want not follow a pattern. I am so inspired, empressed and thankful I came across your work! And you are so humble. You are a Genius!
I’ve had the same dilemma, and have tried everything I could think of, but not a toy’s tail, or a wig... Brilliant! The wig gave the perfect effect I’ve been after. Thankyou SO much.
I've done a lot of faux finishing over the years and I've done the same thing. Looking everywhere to find things to create a certain look/effect to match nature. Love your videos!!
I did my first mural this past week, still doing it actually, in my daughter’s room. I’ve been watching these videos constantly the past few weeks. Once I started painting, just feeling it and everything, i had the idea to try one of my work brushes (makeup artist). It was so perfect!! Between Joe’s technique w his brush suggestion, mu brushes, and blending with my fingers, I’m beyond pleased with the results I’m seeing!! Makeup brushes are so different. Shape, size, density, etc.. if you’re still looking, try some if you haven’t already 😊
You could try a mop make-up brush. The soft, fluffy round ones, then cutting it up so the hairs are different lengths. Also walk into a craft/art store. You will find all sorts of fuzz and hairy stuff you can glue to a stick and use. Those fluff balls people shower with make nice textures, too.
For me what works it's a dish square shape scrubber. Half top fiber bristle, half bottom sponge.cut 1 preferred corner to round corner. Start slow and light paint.also tile installers sponge. This stuff it's great for clouds.also wear rubber gloves. It gets messy. In painting some projects, it's faster then roller and cutting combined
Thank you for all the great technique and inspiration!! My daughter asked for a night sky painted on her bedroom ceiling, because she loves to sleep. I will try to add a photo.
I use a 1 inch, thick house paint brush, get it really wet I mean soak it. Then put the handle between your palms and spin it like you're going to start a fire with a stick. This blows out the bristles everywhere. However once it has paint in it spin inside a 5 gal bucket or paint spatters everywhere. Lol bigger brushes work great too.
THIS IS AMAZING!! Kudos for you to experimenting with different objects to serve an amazing purpose! You are an amazing artist and you are amazing at explaining, you’re seriously great. Thank you. Now I feel like buying an Afro wig and painting clouds on my ceiling.
Hi I want to learn how to paint clouds on ceilings can I ask you a question ? How many hours does it take from start to finish to do a ceiling ? Thank you
Many thanks.seeing your videoes, i am more and more interested in your parent's upbringing. Could you make a video about your parents and their parenting ?about the tool you want, why dont you buy a bit bigger brush then cut out alternative lines ?
Thanks for the video. I bought the tutorial and watched it a lot... my clouds are definitely better, but they don't look like yours. I really appreciate your speed, method and final product. Thanks!
I love your hair joe you look good I really love your videos I really got to find out how to get those Your videos l got to learn how to do that Joe Tell me how
Excellent! Here is an idea. Make a fuzzy stick: wooden dowel, duck tape and fur scrap. No stuffed animals will be harmed. I like using sea sponges also. Thank you for inspiring me!
Hi Jo...how did you keep a straight face I will never know lol 😂 but the wig worked better, you got me thinking now what tool is out there for this project hahaha 😁👍loved your little dog too💙great stuff enjoyed the vid 👍🎨
The wispies are achieved better without water. Use the paint to make the blend not water stretching out the paint. Not to mention the mess and dripping that water brings... Also your blue is way to strong and that changes the look of the clouds. You can get perfect results you just need to fine tune your brush strokes and use no water. Sometimes a small mist from a tiny spray bottle. There is also less depth when you add water. I painted skys for 18 years...your problem is mixing your colors and using a good brush. Use only purdy brushes. The more used and nasty and caked eith pai t that brush is the better.
Cutest video ever 😂 i hope the lion survived. He was too cute. I've been trying to do clouds for a while now with no luck. It's amazing how it would seem so simple but is really the hardest thing. So thanks so much for this series. I cant believe the timing!!! ♡ ☁
Thank you for this! I enjoy watching your videos! You glorify God with your beautiful work, brother! I hope to be able to pay for some of your lessons soon and God willing, join you in leaving the rat race! Peace be with you! Glory and Praise be to God in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ!
Joe, I know what you need. A long human hair brush. Used dry with a slapping light touch. You could easily make your own. Take some of thAt wig and install it in a homemade handle
hmmmm. I use a wet natural sponge that has real ragged edges. In order to get it to work, I have it quite damp, but not soggy. And to get different shapes, I turn it all different ways, and then squeeze it at different points to change the shapes. Works for me! Your way is funnier though = )
Why not simply take a large wide brush and manually cut the bristles to thin them out and maybe attach some of those hair fibers to the sides of the brush to blend in with the regular bristles to create your own "cloud" tool?
This was great teaching and entertaining, as always. I suggest finding a rainbow clown wig so clients don't walk up to where you are working and see the piles of curly, black, "wig". Lol!
You have such an inspiring attitude - and your paintings radiate all these feelings of joy, wonder, playfullness, freedom, acceptance and spontaneity. Its really inspiring to watch you -
This explains why Bob Ross had that type of afro wig
Except he had a perm.
LOL
Green_Touko123 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🙌🏼

I don't want to learn to paint or anything I just find these videos satisfying they help me keep calm
all the more reason to start.
thats RS!
Hi! I use a shaving brush. An old thick thing to make foam with.
Its great to rub it out .
I an obsessed with clouds : )
You are super. I just love watching and being a colorblind working artist I listen to all the details you share. SO SO SO thankful.
I’ve had the same dilemma, and have tried everything I could think of, but not a toy’s tail, or a wig... Brilliant! The wig gave the perfect effect I’ve been after. Thankyou SO much.
Have you ever tested a „natural sponge“ doing a painting? It might be helpful. I always use it by painting marble in layers. Greetings from Germany.
LOL! I love this -- really good ideas, thinking outside of the box -- work smarter, not harder.
Whatever works right! Love the wig on you. It's a good look...lol!
Wow! I absolutely love your videos! Your tutorials are fantastic!!!
Just wanted to say you inspire me 💙

Try a makeup brush. There are highlighter brushes that are wispy like that. Or trim a fluffy brush randomly to see what you get?

Anyone know the colors he used for this?

Its a little more attractive than a big ball of pubic hair. LMAO
You are a great artist! Have you used a sea sponge? It's best for marbling and it makes amazing clouds.
