    Really helpful showing water technique with perspective. I noticed how looking at each shape didn’t look good but when we looked at it from a distance it looked amazing. The idea of mapping Shadows and reflection techniques helped too! Overall excellent!!!

    19:34 one of the things I've learned after only painting for 4 months: don't stop/quit. Unless you completely botch it up, even you screw up a small bit, keep working it, you can bring it back. (usually). The thing about acrylics: let it dry and paint over it haha.....

    Thank you Joe for this thorough demo. 2 questions;
    Is that exterior house paint in those condiment bottles?
    You mentioned that the paint dries quickly when painting over dried paint. Do you ever add medium to extend drying time?
    Thanks.

    • @muraljoe
      @muraljoe  9 місяців тому

      My pleasure. Thank you for watching. It's interior wall paint in the tubes but could just as well be exterior. I've used a latex glaze as a medium for softer blending but not to lengthen dry time.

    I shy away from painting water scenes because of my difficulty with precisely this part of the process. But your technique is so helpful that after a bit of practice, I’m pretty certain that I’ll be soon attempting some water scenes again. So thank you so much for taking your time and sharing your helpful technique with us! I really appreciated all your help! Again, THANK YOU! 👍❤️

    Problem with artists is LACK OF IMAGINATION. Millions of them paint like a mimicry of nature. We can't deny the skill, the craftmanship. I'd like someone painting ...let's see Christ walking on water but SEEN BY PETER FROM BENEATH THE SEA. As far as I know only a Korean artist who never had a formal education is the only one who did that (The Hand of God), the ripples on the water included.
    Problem is he DIDN'T paint a better deformation. The guy even inserted Christ's hand under the water while the rest of the body was out of the water. That's inspiration.

    • @pjmiller8632
      @pjmiller8632 9 місяців тому +8

      @LocalTradesman. Sorry. I have to respectfully disagree with your suggestion. No offence, but can’t we keep politics out of some things, like the beauty of natural landscapes? If ever there was some solace for our minds and state of calm, it’s through the gift of art. Why ruin such a beautiful thing with politics??

    • @LocalTradesman
      @LocalTradesman 9 місяців тому

      Or any other off subject matter is all that I am saying. Politics was just another suggestion. Thats all I was talking about. Maybe a sport or something other than,
      landscape stuff.

      I have been following him for a few years now.... You should see the Harry Potter one he did. He is one of best all around artist I have ever seen. The cloud murals on ceilings were amazing years ago. He is more talented than just these simple landscape stuff. I guess he does it to teach others that are just learning. I just know his talent is far beyond what people know he has and can do. Love Him , Trying to get a commission from him some day!!! @@kathleenkopylec3270

      Art can definitely be influenced by politics but with it can come controversy and that is something this channel likely doesn't need or possibly would even want..
