Just put new mantles on an 11-74 220h and fired it up this morning for the first time in 25-30 years. just had to work the cleaner a good bit but it seemed to clear out and run well eventually. I'll test it out after dark tonight.
Big estate sale next week. I really cheat. I use a quart can for filling lanterns and stoves. I have mostly single mantle lanterns. Thank you for sharing your mantle work with us, Steve. Good to hear you getting some rain. Stay safe and stay cool
I just figured this out myself Chris after years of them touching the tube and making a hole , 200 times a charm I suppose. :) HOPE you are having a Super day ! Rain here , cozy time
When filling tipped , this is for testing , I lift the funnel off the fount to let a bit of air in , helps the fuel flow thru the funnel easier. Not so air tight . Now be careful not to over fill, when the fought is tipped you can over fill and when you set it down flat fuel may come out if you add to much . Be careful, this practice is just for putting a smaller amount of fuel in for testing and not a complete fill up.
Great advice putting the knot in the mantle first when it's freezing a.. cold and ones' fingers aren't working . Required viewing . Have a great weekend Steve and hope you get plenty of rain out there .
Thanks Lefty Heck yeah Ben Rainin for much of last night and today , boy do we need it. Smells so good 👍 thanks for the comment. Love these little fire makers !!! Be safe have a super weekend
I have a 1/73 220 F & a 12/73 220H. As you have a 6/73 220H, Coleman must’ve started the H series in the spring of 1973. Good video. I subscribed to your channel.
Thank you for this content! I recently purchased a unused 1977 coleman lantern on eBay, so your video is well-timed and lucky for me. Was wondering where to find some cheaply priced mantles? Where you do source yours? Thanks again.
When you prep your mantles have your round knob turned off , when done and ready open 1/4 turn . The directions are in the knob . Good luck , let's see a post ok !
Lit right on up! Good Demo Steve
Thanks Karl 😀

I don’t know why I never thought about turning the mantles like you did... those things can be tricky sometimes!!!👍🏻

When preping the mantles keep the round knob closed. When ready to light open the knob 1/4 , the directions should be in the knob.

Thank You Patrick, I really appreciate it 😊 great info thanks
I subbed you Patrick, hope to see you around and also to see your videos some time .
I have the exact same one but the pump does not close tight it's loose. What do I need to do?
Have you pushed in and then turn the pump to the right a few times ?
The pump stem should thread into the right and stop after pumping
Or is the pump coming out altogether
