I always thought the stats of onix were discriminating due to its sheer size and intimidation. I get it's mainly a defensive pokemon as a lot of gen 1 rock types are physical defenders by stats. But come on. Your telling me a giant snake made of rocks doesn't do any damage hardly? That thing could flatten most pokemon by sheer weight 😂. Gen 1 rock stats though make no sense and makes onix a classic fav but not very good completive
Onix’s poor win streak in the anime reflects how deceptive its appearance in conjunction with its actual competitive use in the games and its improved win streak after gaining its diamond steel overcoat reflects how it actually improved significantly in the games as well. I think you’re amazing narrating skills are rubbing off on me!
MY Fave Moment of Brock’s Steelix was definitely the 1/2 of The Reunion in Kanto when he NOT ONLY Mega Evolved BUT also defeated Kiawe🔥, Showing that though Kiawe is technically Ash’s Strongest Alolan Companion, he’s still got A LOOONG way to go and the fact that though Brock chose the path of a PokeDoctor, he’s still got it! ☄️😎

With the spinning technique ash used in sinnoh, I feel this originated with ash’s battle against Jasmine in johto, as throughout the battle Jasmine had her steelix spin to use sandstorm to block cyndaquils flamethrower. Although ash uses this against her by turning the sandstorm into a fire tornado, I’d still like to think this served as a basis.
The scene of him getting onix on his tenth birthday and going up the mountain with him made me love onix as a Pokémon, it was just such a touching moment
I was surprised when I looked up Onix's base stats and found it had the same Attack stat as Wurmple of all Pokemon since I remembered Brock's Onix as this absurdly powerful juggernaut... watching this has made me realise "Nope, the anime was consistent all along". xD
Brock's Steelix has shown it's potential and proved itself one of the most dependable pokemon of Brock whose worthy of getting attention due to its fighting abilities as seen in Alola region ❤️
The reason why I like onix/stealix is because how brocks onix inperticulary was relevant to the team of all brocks Pokémon as well as ashes and mistys back in their early days when the series was running ever since the very first season of the Pokémon anime tv series. Good times!!… 😊
I always loved Steelix's smile it looks like a troll face staring down on its opponent when its about to smack them down. Its a cool upgrade for Onix and its always my favorite steel type Pokemon ever. :) I just wish Brock would use it more in the serie.

You all remember that BIG Moment when his Steelix just breaths the Inferno Overdrive away before KOing with Stone Edge. That Breath-Out is my international Sign for Stamina. Maybe you're guessed right. Steelix is one of my closest facourites of all time and was ALWAYS in my First 6 Team in every single Johto run of mine 😍. Just Love for that Iron Snake. Sadly never got it's shiny.
I'm glad Brock's Steelix got some sort of redemption in the Sun and Moon anime, especially since Steelix is one of my most favorite fully evolved Steel types besides Aggron, Scizor, and Magnezone, I even have a Steelix named Diamond who was a powerhouse on my SoulSilver team onced it evolved from Onix

How did I miss this? I actually only realized you uploaded after you liked one of my comments on one of your other videos. UA-cam bell broken. With that said, Onix was one of the anime Pokémon that really should have crushed everything in sight, given it’s size and wrap hax. But idk, much like a lot of Brocks Pokémon, Onix just lacked personality and not a lot to be invested in from a story telling perspective.
Professor Alex Silver Croagunk was alright from what I remember. It had personality, it’s just too bad a lot of it just ended up being LETS GET BROCK AWAY FROM GIRLS. By that point, Brock just became super stale as a character compared to Ash and female companion. The writers didn’t do much with his Pokémon breeder goal, and at the end, just hastily wrap it up by making him a doctor.

I guess those wouldn’t be Pokémon bios, more trainer bios since you don’t have as many episodes to go off of with them. The only rival that’d have that luxury would be Paul, with his team constantly evolving and more OP stuff coming out of left wing.
Just realized Brock's Onix lost to straight up PLOT and his only legit Lose was against Donphan, a pokemon with advantage {and stats in game} over him. Not sure if count Tyranitar as a lose since did homerun tail it at the end.
The Boulder badge win bothered me as a kid but electricity can damage anything if it has enough impact power. So you could say it worked due to the power up storage and direct impact of all the electricity. Though you can also argue that it's technically using science and should be against the rules. It's the same thing with a gun. The bullet does damage but only because of the speed and impact that gets fired.
How did onix evolve into steelix? Because in the games it can only evolve when traded holding a metal coat, and I wouldn’t imagine Forres would trade his brother’s Pokemon behind his back, even if it were to be traded back to him right away. So does onix’s evolution just work different in the anime, like it can evolve just through levelling up?
We didn't see it happen on-screen but can assume Forrest attached a Metal Coat to Steelix and quickly traded it back and forth with someone. Maybe it will be explained in the future :)

Yeah I'll say this Nosepass and Cranidos both were more interesting rock type gym battles in the later games.

He evolved Onix somehow. I evolved my baby Onix to Steelix and since then Steelix is not only my ace but my favourite pokémon
