Few of my favorites 1. Pontya evolving to Rapidash in between that epic race 2. Caterpie evolving to Metapod and Metapod evolving to Butterfree to save Ash from the Beedrill #Nostalgia 3. Pidgeotto evolving to Pidgeot to save the Pidgeys & Pidgeottos from the Fearow and Spearow pack. 4. Tailow evolving to Swellow in between the ring battle while caught in the tornado 5. Brock's Pineco evolves to Foritress in between the water twister.

Charmeleon to Charizard... Staravia to Staraptor. Grotle to Torterra... Monferno to Infernape... Sliggoo to Goodra... And Frogadier to Greninja was some of my favorite moments
Frogadier’s evolution was definitely my all time favorite cause I remember how long I’ve waited for him to evolve into Greninja. And the fact that they gave him a new transformation which was almost similar to Mega Evolution made it even better. Anyways, I can’t wait to see what kind of evolutions Pokémon Horizons has in store, bet it’s gonna be amazing
I thought Ash-Greninja was basically the writer's way of getting out of giving him a Mega Charizard, and I HATE them for that. Greninja is cool, though.

And we all know Ash never battles with his old pokemon against a rival in the league, barring the johto league. All of Ash's pokemon had no mega evos in Kalos, so they came with one of their greatest creations to this date.

As frustrating as it was seeing Sceptile unable to use any moves or defend itself Looking back, it was pretty original and unique on the show’s part to have one of Ash’s best and toughest Pokemon go through such a struggle
The evolutions of Ash's regional birds to their final stages were quite cool, and I also like the evolutions of Ash's other flying types like Gligar and Noibat.
Lycanroc in my opinion was absolutely the best one. We were all curious to see which form it would take then it caught me super off guard when it evolved into Dusk form for the first time in recorded history, which is so cool for Ash. It's the coolest design out of the three forms imo and one of my favorite Pokemon designs in general! Not to mention it was beautiful and its howl and arc made it feel even more intense.
The first episode of the anime I ever watched, was the one where Charmeleon evolved into Charizard. I already knew about Pokémon prior to that but that episode helps cement Charmeleon as my favorite Pokémon.

My first look into Pokemon was Psyduck evolution into Golduck. The scene of it psychically rising the Tentacruel above it head as a dominance was the something that I'll never forget.
If I have to name an amazing evolution that wasn't on here, I'd definitely say Krookodile mainly because of how it defeated Iris's Dragonite so effortlessly, especially when that behemoth took out 2 very powerful ice types in Georgia's Bearitic and Dawn's Mamoswine. And people still sleep on Ash's Krookodile
Honorable Mentions: Cyndaquil evolves into Quilava Gligar holding a razor fang during the night evolves into Gliscor Sylveon of Eeveelution when Eevee enjoy dancing her moves on a stage then Eevee evolves into Sylveon Sirfetch'd was knighthood when Farfetch'd had its leek cut off by Gallade.Farfetch'd stood its ground,using the cut-off part of its leek as a shield,and won the battle,evolving into the Sirfetch'd Goodra when Sliggoo its full evolution into Goodra Primarina Lana's Brionne's evolution into Primarina Noivern Noibat goes out of its way to save its mentor,evolving to pick up speed into Noivern Talonflame Fletchinder evolves into Talonflame
Charmeleon evolving purely out of spite just to have a go at Aerodactyl will forever be my favorite evolution moment. Ash, in all his delusional mind, thinking it evolved to save him is pure gold.
Evolutions are some of the best parts of the Pokemon anime! These scenes were highly anticipated, and we look forward to seeing more awesome evolution scenes in the future!
If Charizard wasn't number 1. Ever since Ash saved Charmander when it was abandoned in the rain, they had a special bond. Bulbasaur also was one of my favorite Pokemon.
Before Charmeleon evolved was a total kids play, after that moment we all knew the shit just got real. I stil rewatch this moment from time to time because it is also like a welcome back childhood moment. It had the suspense, the real power behind and the perfect theme music in the background made it even more epic.
I had a feeling Charizard was going to be number 1. It’s just to hard to find a more iconic Pokémon that Ash had outside of pikachu than the main fire dragon himself.

Ash's Charmeleon evolving into Charizard is one of my favorite sequences. It was iconic and hilarious that the only reason Charizard evolved was to get payback against Aerodactyl for giving it a scratch on the head. Some of my other Pokémon evolution scenes that I loved were Ash's Dusk Lycanroc, Greninja and Lucario.

I think these should’ve been at least honorable mentions butterfree pidgeot Weezing and arbok Staraptor (the music went amazing with the scene itself and the way it beat up hinchkrow was golden) Boldore (tbh that was just another krabby so I can kinda understand y they left that one out) Tepig Noibat Talon flame (noibat and talon flame literally made themselves evolve to protect as from a legendary) Honestly maybe this list should’ve been a bit more than top 10 😅
What’s funny about charmeleon was he stayed as Charmander for like 45 eps, then like 5 episodes as charmeleon, he gained so many levels knocking out the exeggutors he evolved again so fast
This guy must young and started watching pokemon in the later generations. First generation evolutions were the most iconic with caterpie to butterfry, charmandar to charizard, crabby, and pidgeotto.

Ash’s Metapod evolving into Butterfree is what got me hooked on Pokemon as a kid. So that one is my favorite.
