It would be nice if Ash had teams of 5 reserves and let them have the opportunity to shine. Team 1: Muk, Kingler, Tauros, Gible and Palpitoad; Team 2: Donphan, Heracross, Totodile, Noctowl, and Noivern.

@@ProfessorAlexSilver Yeah true I guess they travel in packs. He did catch every single one from the safari zone. Even the one Brock caught was his lol
My brother and I got the red and blue games like 20 years ago(and we still haven't finished them). As we recall, it's not easy to catch Tauros because they're only in the Safari Zone and only 1% of Tauros occupy them. You might consider Ash lucky then. XD
In the gen 1 video games Tauros was the king of all non legendary Pokémon. So it makes perfect sense that Ash’s tauros best and most significant battle, was its debut battle against Drake. Who needs beginners luck when you have that?
yes I am sure he uses the Leader of the Pack every time. Thanks for the awesome video I forgot about the Safari Zone Episode, and only heard it was cancelled because the guns. Fun 🤩 Fact: in an episode of Pokémon Master Journeys: The Series which is Advice to Goh! Ash’s 30 Tauros made an appearance when they reunited with Ash during his visit to Professor Oak’s Laboratory 🥼 with Goh, knocking him into the air out of excitement.
Shame he never got to stick around Ashs team for more than a few league battles. Between its massive strength & a fun personality (from the glimpses we see), it would've added a lot to the anime.
i was about to say, which tauros does ash uses actually. but him choosing the leader most of the time makes sense. but how does ash know which is the leader
According to the dex, "The herd member with the longest, thickest, and most scarred horns is said to be the leader." He might just ask Oak to pick the one running in front also haha
@@ProfessorAlexSilver I've also thought more about this and literally all's the series needed to do was make the leader Tauros look a little bigger even if the leader had bigger horns than the others to make him stand out so we know which one is the leader it's kinder of annoying that the series digs it self into alot of avoidable plot wholes lol 😂🤣
Going throught the playlist, I absolutly love how you keep doing side jabs with RIchie here. There really is no reason why Ash lost that battle besides the fact the writers needed him to lose
Tauros is a reminder of the many times ash caught a Pokémon just to catch a Pokémon which never happens anymore especially in journey since they turned ash into overly focused on battles and never taking initiative anymore in favor of soley being the Pokémon decision
Pal pito as was disappointing because I like the Pokémon personally and it had a strong personality In it’s introduction but then gets side lines and now with journeys 3/5 of his team is pushed to the side and ash doesn’t actively catch anything in favor of his née goku-esque personality to favor goh catching more Pokémon but since goh learns from ash and becomes a better battler then ash should taking after goh as well to catch a bee Pokémon more often
@MannyB-Light: I hated all the times Ash would catch a pokemon just for the sake of catching a pokemon (or rather, for the sake of beating Gary / or rather, for the sake of one-ending Gary / or rather, for the sake of one-upping Gary). Ash's pokemon don't care about all that. I'm willing to bet you, if Ash's pokemon (that were caught against their will) found-out that they were caught only for the sake of one-upping Gary, they would be like "you took my freedom away, for THIS? you should have left me in my tree/forest/field, where i was happy". Tough question! Butterfree is #1 since it has my favorite narrative arc. Heracross is probably #2 since I love its battle with Gary's Magmar. #3 is a lot tougher for me to decide. It's a toss-up between Bulbasaur (Ash's most loyal Pokemon besides Pikachu imo), Charizard (his original ace), & Corphish (funniest Pokemon in the series imo). If the tauros episode was banned because of a gun, then why wasn’t the squirtle episode banned since when ash goes into the near town to get a super potion, four people stand there holding guns at him?
The biggest knock on Ash as a trainer is the fact he doesn't rotate out members of his team. I get that they maybe want to focus on a few so they could each have their own character, but from a common sense perspective, Ash should use more of his different Pokemon a lot more. Just because it didn't work in the Best Wishes arc (that arc is like a gas leak year in a tv show), doesn't mean it shouldn't be tried again.
Nice way to describe BW XD From a narrative standpoint, it definitely makes sense for Ash to stick to his current saga's Pokemon, but it would be great for fanservice if they can come back more often. We really need more Orange Island & Battle Frontier style arcs.
Yeah! Beedrill will be super short, but I have some fun ideas for Raticate. It's probably going to be more about its impact on the anime (the lack of trading)
If Ash haven't trade back Raticate for Buterfree, in the future he would have been maried to a women whit a female one, so then they would have had a son named Joey who would have receive a Rattata from the Raticate couple!
i might sound mean to the other tauros for saying this but i kinda wish ash only got one so we could of at least seen more of tauros in action and seeing it use more moves like megahorn for example

Excellent, thanks.I really enjoy your analyses and the way you flesh out the Pokémon’s characters in a way that can be more fully appreciated by older fans like us. Keep up the good work 👍🏻
that would be funny to see tauros seep Richie's team. I think there's a lot of missed opportunities for tauros, it could have learned a bunch of other non normal type moves as normal types are typically known for. But it's fine, I like this member of ash's team for its sheer physical force. that's what the anime is good for, seeing the physical aspects of pokemon battles
It is a shame they did not use Tauros more in Pokemon Journeys, Tauros has so many more new moves to access that could have made him an even better battler. Sadly with Ash's departure we don't get to see Ash and his Tauros encounter the Paldean forms either.
As a kid, i was confused, when did Ash catch those Tauros, did i miss an episode or something? (I also wondered why there was no episode featuring Porygon lol)

@@ProfessorAlexSilver Honestly, with that kid, nothing can suprise me anymore. He can turn into a Latios for all I care. Wait... no no no no no no no! Don't do it!
@@RedMadMichael Ash died so many times in movies and was revived just as much
Can't believe that adults also like Pokemon till now 😅Btw Superb Video 🔥
We're everywhere 😅 Thanks!!!
Tauros did fairly well in the handful of matches Ash had used him in but felt as though Ash had Tauros try to win the battle through sheer strength alone, nothing wrong with that but as shown it didn't always work so much. It would be nice if Ash had teams of 5 reserves and let them have the opportunity to shine. Team 1: Muk, Kingler, Tauros, Gible and Palpitoad; Team 2: Donphan, Heracross, Totodile, Noctowl, and Noivern.
That's one of the things I enjoyed most about the battle with Gary. Besides Bayleef + Charizard, it was all reserves
@@ProfessorAlexSilver That was a nice touch for the writers to have Ash bring back some of his other Pokémon.
The episode where Tauros won a battle and someone wanted to trade with him always bothered me. He had like 30 and supposedly always used the same one. Should’ve traded away another one lol. He could get some good Pokémon trying 29 tauros
I think Ash knew it would be mean to trade away one of their friends without letting them say goodbye
XD
Very lucky indeed :)
In the gen 1 video games Tauros was the king of all non legendary Pokémon. So it makes perfect sense that Ash’s tauros best and most significant battle, was its debut battle against Drake. Who needs beginners luck when you have that?
good point!
yes I am sure he uses the Leader of the Pack every time. Thanks for the awesome video I forgot about the Safari Zone Episode, and only heard it was cancelled because the guns. But man I just always assumed Ash had caught these when he was younger and went on a trip lol.
*edit, it was nice seeing them return in Journeys :)
Thanks! It was nice indeed :D
In Pokémon go I am naming all of my Taurus after the States 🤣
Genius ^^
Looks like you'll need 20 extra Safari Balls.
I don’t know if it was a coincidence or if it was a easter egg but in the episode Tricks Of The Trades there is a guy with a Onix
And strange enough he sounds like Brocks voice actor
I don't recall that character but I remember one of the background people looking just like Tracey
Very fun 😁
YES!!! TAUROS!!!
More soon :)
@@ProfessorAlexSilver it would be funny if you did one on ashes raticate
Congrats of 1k 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks 😀😀
Shame he never got to stick around Ashs team for more than a few league battles. Between its massive strength & a fun personality (from the glimpses we see), it would've added a lot to the anime.
I agree! It's such a cool wild card that it would've been interesting to see how it interacted with Ash's other Pokemon
Amazing and full explained video Professor Silver
Glad you think so!
Just got into your videos tonight and I thought “huh I wonder if he has a 30 Tauros video”
Ask and ye shall receive ;)
i was about to say, which tauros does ash uses actually. but him choosing the leader most of the time makes sense. but how does ash know which is the leader
Are you acting as a professor or are you really one? xD
Only in-video 😂 I work in a different field in real life
@@ProfessorAlexSilver well now i'm interested
Like I said:
If Kaiser was voiced by me, I would’ve gotten the audience very scared.
I never noticed how many times Tauros flung its opponents in the air lol
I would love have loved to see a little more variety in its move set. Take Down // Horn Attack are almost the same thing animation-wise lol
@@ProfessorAlexSilver I agree lol. I just discovered you today man and thank you so much for the analysis on Pokemon👏🏾greatly appreciated
@@RichGrimes Glad to have you :) I try to cover new Pokemon every Sunday.
I would've love to see Ash catch more random Pokemon (as long as they get more focus than Palpitoad)
@MannyB-Light:
I hated all the times Ash would catch a pokemon just for the sake of catching a pokemon (or rather, for the sake of beating Gary / or rather, for the sake of one-ending Gary / or rather, for the sake of one-upping Gary).
Edit: I have to edit this comment to specify what reply of yours I was replying to / referring to.
@@reoencarcelado5904 ok, but liek when did that ever happen directly being caught to beat Gary?? Charmander squirtle and bulbasaur were caught Becasue they bonded butterfree was caught Becasue he needed new Pokémon and he didn’t have any same with pidgeotto. Primeape is the closest you have to that example but it’s more oak telling him he’s falling behind the other trainers becssue he’s only ever sent on other Pokémon and ash hadn’t caught anything in awhile. You hated all the rims that didn’t really happen.
@@reoencarcelado5904 Pokémon become more like their trainers so your rivals can become their rivals and they never really care about being caught cause it’s about how you treat them.
I wish the uploads were more frequent
As the channel grows, and I can dedicate more time to it, they will be 🤘
Given that many of us have spent countless times and many pokedollers in the safari zone trying to catch just ONE Tauros, the fact that Ash caught 30 of them without intending to says something about his potential.
Ash is just missing out.... HE HAS A ARMY OF MAGIC COWS
I always thought he needed some miltank to balance things out
Who's better pokemon buffalant or Taurus? And whats a better pokemon move take down or head charge?
I'm going to have to go with Tauros as Ash never caught the former. That being said, I prefer Head Charge!
Ash should’ve caught a Buffalant in Unova
I need videos about the other 29 Tauroses, too
Ash incompetence has been dissed so much in these episodes
Hahah
Professor, if you had to name three of your favorites, who would you choose?
Tough question! Butterfree is #1 since it has my favorite narrative arc. Heracross is probably #2 since I love its battle with Gary's Magmar. #3 is a lot tougher for me to decide. It's a toss-up between Bulbasaur (Ash's most loyal Pokemon besides Pikachu imo), Charizard (his original ace), & Corphish (funniest Pokemon in the series imo). I also really like Greninja's arc/battles but it's a bit too hyped for me to call it my favorite 😅
@@ProfessorAlexSilver a man of culture I see Professor 😁 my favourite Pokémon is charizard like I've mentioned several time in comments but Butterfree has always had a place in my heart because of the narrative arc also Heracross is my second favourite bug type after Butterfree 😊 also my first play through of Pokémon crystal I caught a shinny Butterfree in the bug catching contest I nicknamed him wings 🤣 I used to come up with some good nick names for my Pokémon on that very same play through when I caught ho-ho i nick named him Dumbledor & can't remember if this other was the same playthrough but I once had a Laparas called Nessy 🤣😂
@@ProfessorAlexSilver Do you like to nickname your Pokémon when you play the games Professor ? I do like too but I only nickname my main team of six and maybe two or three reserves.
Does ash use the same tauros every time or a different one?
Is there a leader Tauros?
Or does professors oak eenie minie moe it?
I assume Ash uses the leader but it's never made clear. Any theories?
@@ProfessorAlexSilver He might use the one with great IVs ... If ash knows what those are
Pls pls pls Do a video on Gary umbreon
With Gary returning to the series, I'll have to do something about Umbreon soon 😏
If the tauros episode was banned because of a gun, then why wasn’t the squirtle episode banned since when ash goes into the near town to get a super potion, four people stand there holding guns at him?
Hmm, sometimes it's abritary
Now that you mention it, that does seem kinda fishy
I dont get it, is this the history of Tauros 13 or Tauros 29?
Wish the uploads were more frequent
Hopefully in the future 😀
@@ProfessorAlexSilver hopefully
Wow Tauros appeared more often than I thought for a reserve pokemon.
Yup! More than some Unova mons 😅
@@ProfessorAlexSilver oh seriously... wait you’re right! Palpitoad and Boldore barely got shine. Prolly Unfezant too.
They coulda made the rotation work if they didn’t rush the league and then stick us with that trash Decalore Island arc.
The clearly didn’t try.
Yes! new upload! also will you doing one of ash's rattata and beedrill?
Yeah! Beedrill will be super short, but I have some fun ideas for Raticate. It's probably going to be more about its impact on the anime (the lack of trading)
@@ProfessorAlexSilver great to here!
If Ash haven't trade back Raticate for Buterfree, in the future he would have been maried to a women whit a female one, so then they would have had a son named Joey who would have receive a Rattata from the Raticate couple!
@@guillaumehomier5038 Mind blown 🤣👍👍
Wow, to think he got 30 of them!
Man that would be quite a handful 😁
6 Tauros >>> other full teams :)
YOU DESERVE MORE VIEWS AND SUBSCRIBER!!!!
Thanks!!!
you should definitely do ash's snorlax sometime, it can somehow know six moves at once
Snorlax will be awesome, I'm looking forward to revisiting its League Wins. It was arguably Ash's MVP in the Johto League
Back 9 months later and the snorlax vid was awesome
You should check out the orange islands Drake his Dragonite knows like 11 moves all used in one battle with Ash 🤯
I think that tauros in the Orange islands hasn’t appeared again bar the tauros competition
The one in Johoto went down too easy to be the same one
Perhaps! It was pretty strong against Anabel
i might sound mean to the other tauros for saying this but i kinda wish ash only got one so we could of at least seen more of tauros in action and seeing it use more moves like megahorn for example
Pls answer me which tauros from 30 tauros that ash use? Does ash all the same tauros for everytime or not
I think the leader
Another great video
Thanks 😁🤘
@@ProfessorAlexSilver You're welcome
Is that episode on pokemon tv ?
I'm not sure I own the DVDs
Might be. A shout as I’m a gen 1r and Tauros is one my all time favorites , one of ash’s lowkey stronger Pokémon , look at the battles he lost , no shame in any of them mons.. the battles he won .. clap to tauros , deserved way more screen time in my opinion
Could you do an episode on either Ash’s Charizard or Ash’s Krookadile?
Yup! Both on my list :)
Excellent, thanks.I really enjoy your analyses and the way you flesh out the Pokémon’s characters in a way that can be more fully appreciated by older fans like us. Keep up the good work 👍🏻
so... which one of the 30 Tauros are we talking about?
I think the leader is used in battle
I think the wiki also said that the Tauros ash used always been the leader of the herd and he never use the others
It's never been fully confirmed unfortunately
Tauros and arcanine are my favorite pokemon
Good choices :)
I love Arcanine
that would be funny to see tauros seep Richie's team. I think there's a lot of missed opportunities for tauros, it could have learned a bunch of other non normal type moves as normal types are typically known for. But it's fine, I like this member of ash's team for its sheer physical force. that's what the anime is good for, seeing the physical aspects of pokemon battles
Definitely many things that could have done. At least we got those awesome appearances in Johto & the Orange League tho!
It is a shame they did not use Tauros more in Pokemon Journeys, Tauros has so many more new moves to access that could have made him an even better battler. Sadly with Ash's departure we don't get to see Ash and his Tauros encounter the Paldean forms either.
Are we going to ignore the fact that Ash beats steel types with normal attacks on a regular?
He is the champion of the Orange League and Alola after all 😁
@@ProfessorAlexSilver true😄😄😄😄😄
Ash always wanted the hard way

As a kid, i was confused, when did Ash catch those Tauros, did i miss an episode or something?
(I also wondered why there was no episode featuring Porygon lol)
I thought that all those Torus were a gift to Ash from Professor Oak
Good theory though 😅
@@ProfessorAlexSilver Not really. Even Professor Oak mentions that Ash's Tauros herd were caught from the Safari Zone.
Ash reunited with his Tauros's herd before travelling to Kalos, too. You forgot to mention that. You said Tauros only appeared during black and white and sun and moon.
Black and white is the saga before Kalos
since it's been confirmed that Ash will be in the future scarlet and violet anime images if he caught the regional variant, even though he got plenty of the ones from kanto
Considering how many tauros Ash has, you will need to upload this video 30 times.
Haha, good point
Tauros is one of my all time favorite gen 1 Pokémon took me 4 days too catch one when I played yellow but man was it worth it I destroyed everything with it

Man I wish we could’ve seen The band episode
I saw it in Asia last year while randomly flipping through the channels. Nice surprise ☺️
prof. Silver , I also wanted to know more about Togepi , I know togepi almost doesnt do battles in the anime but togepi is my most favorite pokemon in the franchise..... seeing Togepi evovled into Togetic and bid goodbye to misty is the saddest Ive seen so far in the anime..... please please please ...make it happen ....... and maybe while on it you can also consider making a video about Dawns Togekiss to comlete the evolution line that appeared in the anime.... sorry for asking too much .... and thank you for reading my comment ......
I'll definitely cover Togepi! I need to think hard how I want to cover it. It doesn't do much story-wise, but it has a TON of appearances and tons of hilarious background animations. Togekiss will be a lot easier since it's appearances were so limited.
