You already know how to please the Machine Gods at this point so thank you so much. And make your voices heard for which faction you would like to see next!

Everything below is for the omnissiah. But like, you can read it if you want. Just a synopsis of the video you're watching.
Early History and Formation
The Celestial Lions were formed in the 38th Millennium, inheriting the gene-seed of Rogal Dorn from the Imperial Fists. Their early campaigns established them as disciplined and honorable warriors, committed to upholding the values of their progenitor Chapter.
Conflict with the Inquisition
The Khattarn Insurrection marked a significant conflict in their history. The Celestial Lions openly criticized Inquisitor Apollyon for his brutal actions, including the extermination of all life on Khattar. This led to severe repercussions from the Inquisition, which viewed any challenge to their authority with extreme prejudice.
Third War for Armageddon
During the Third War for Armageddon, the Celestial Lions faced devastating losses against the Ork hordes led by Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka. Despite their valiant efforts alongside other Imperial forces, their numbers were severely depleted, leaving the Chapter on the brink of extinction.
Ekene Dubaku and the Great Rift
After the Third War for Armageddon, Ekene Dubaku rose to prominence, seeking to rebuild the Chapter and restore their honor. Dubaku's leadership was crucial during the invasion of their homeworld, Elysium IX, by the Chaos warband Exilarchy following the opening of the Great Rift. Despite efforts to evacuate the population, the invasion resulted in significant losses, and Dubaku was eventually assassinated by a Callidus Assassin, an act believed to be orchestrated by the Inquisition.
Cultural Significance and Rebuilding Efforts
The Celestial Lions emphasize storytelling and communal rituals, harboring a deep-seated hatred for Orks. After their near-destruction, they received aid from the Black Templars and other loyalist factions to rebuild. Their story is one of resilience and unwavering faith in the Emperor, inspiring other Imperial forces.
Current Status
In the current Warhammer 40,000 timeline, the Celestial Lions continue to fight valiantly for the Imperium. They have re-established some of their strength and remain committed to their duty despite their tragic past and reduced numbers

When a Celestial Lion is tired of looking for broken glass in his salad, he is clearly tired of living.
If I'm not mistaken, Terry Pratchett's Discworld.
Hahaha....sad😅
Much like a wizard in pre-Ridcully Unseen University.
Warp!! Especially the DEEP warp where even the CHAOS ”gods” are afraid to go
would be cool
I concur
Is there much information on the deep warp
Damn I really hope it wins the competition
ALPHARIUSSSSSSSS
Fun Fact about the Great Emu War:
The government was initially successful in using machine guns to kill a decent number of emus. However, just like the tyranids, the emus adapted to the losses and switched to guerrilla warfare - splitting into smaller, roving bands. These bands would each have a scout that would listen for the sounds of trucks and signal an early retreat, reducing casualties and wasting ammunition.
+1 vote for the Warp
My favorite story from the Emu War is when they tried to use a gun truck for the first time and an emu jumped THROUGH the windshield them jammed the steering wheel with its foot until the truck ran into a ditch, unstuck itself, and ran away.

Bro I would love to see fanart of Isyander and Koda decked out in iquisition gear they would look FIRE as FUCK
In defense of the black Templars. They found a loophole in the codex. Chapter sizes can be bigger then 1000 marines if they’re actively engaged in a crusade. And the Black Templars are actively engaged in an eternal crusade. So they’re allowed to be more then 1000 marines
I was looking for this comment.
@@corsicasanovadon’t get me wrong. I don’t like the black templars BUT I respect the loophole
@@joeljohnston3390 I do but mostly because of the loophole as that's the most Dornian stuff you can do. And also the named are great between Sigi, Grimaldus, Ulrichus, Ackolon and so many others...
@@joeljohnston3390you should love us... and remember you Templar ABC's Always be Crusading
They're also smart about dispersing themselves across the galaxy. If they were all in one place regularly then someone powerful enough to kick up a fuss might notice, but since they're always crusading in like six different wars at the same time nobody outside the Chapter leadership knows how many Black Templars there actually are, and sometimes it's suggested not even they know the true count of their numbers!
43:05 The Black Templar are like there are only 1,000 of us but there are like twenty chapters all calling themselves the Black Templar

As a celestial Lions fan we shall have vindication!!! the sons of dorn will not tolerate the pettiness an childish behavior of the Inquisition. They should be made an example of.
Since Guillaman is back I want the black Templar telling the story of their fallen chapter brothers and see what Guillaman will do
@ericmacrae6871 oh guilliman would be pissed. As well as Lionel Johnson. The inquision would be fucking obliterated for there actions. And I think the Sororitas would join in as well

WARP BABY LETS GO!!!
YEARGE WARP!!!!!!
The last time The black Templars were counted in 4th edition they numbered between 5,000 and 6,000 Marines. As of the era indomitus, each of their fleets has been reinforced.
I'm sure that guilliman has had to stop and go " wait a minute..." after like the 4th crusading fleet of templars in a row asked him for a chapters worth of reinforcements.
@@40ktheo oh boy they actually went to each of the fleets individually and reinforced them. It only became a problem when one of the fleets said "WE HAD A VOTE AND THESE PRIMARIS NERDS ARE HERESY SO WE KILLED ALL OF THEM AND THE CUSTODES THAT CAME WITH THEM"

"All rectangles are squares but not all squares are rectangles" triggered me XD
And yes, Isyander did say it the wrong way initially (1:42). Then when Koda corrected him, he said it the wrong way as well (2:14). Then you guys looked it up and figured it out! I love this dynamic banter XD
How did these squares make a circle?

And that one still green
Warp. Let's hear about the "space" shenanigans that one doesn't talk about.
I wouldnt be surprised if a mysterious traitor space marine showed up with a ork war boss skull, with a blood thirst for inquisitors.
I'd like to take advantage of being here when there are so few comments to thank you guys. You two are pretty nuch solely responsible for me getting into the wider lore of 40k because originally i was determined that i would remain interested ONLY in the Knights and so i didn't need to learn about the Tau or the Tyranids or the Sororitas. And you guy's awesome presentation and charasmatic commentary proved me wrong. So again, thank you. Also, I know it goes down to a vote but PLEASE cover the Servitors. It's such in intriguing yet stomach churning topuc that id love to see you talk about. Especially since I'd probably learn something new. Plus Koda would probably need a comedy break gere and there due to how much psychological horror is connected to the bio-bots.
I bet someone has already took up on the Black Templar's dare to count the number of marines with them at one point, and every new marine shows up, the Black Templar goes, "And that's 1000 over there. That guy is also number 1000, that includes those two by the water cooler over there."
"Wait, they're clearly more than 1000 happening here."
Black Templar puts a hand on their shoulder and pats gently but not reassuringly. "Well, I guess we have to do a recount. Clearly, I may have been mistaken. Do _you_ think I may have made a mistake? _You_ tell me."
While I know he'd be a Space Marine... At this rate, we need to draw Inquisitor Isyander and Tech Priest Koda. XD
Warp, please!
There’s a brewery named Elysian that makes a beer called Space Dust. All I’m saying is: it fits.
the lovely thing about this channel - outside of how good you two are at this - is that 40k has so much lore you will NEVER be finished.
Here's a vote for the Warp, though Schola Progenium sounds fanscinating.

Also, it is known aaron dembski-bowden has an irrational hate for the imperium. Yes, the name is not capitalized; for good reasons, justified reasons.
Warp episode vote! Another funny little thing, not only did the Celestial Lions' homeworld get screwed over by chaos, and they had to go to the Emperor's Spears for help...but the reason why the third member of their boyband, the Star Scorpions, aren't around to lend a hand...is because they ARE that chaos force doing the aforementioned screwing over (well, part of it at least).
ISYANDER AND KODA! GIVE US THE WARP, AND OUR LIFE IS YOURS!
The sudden and aggressive E, as he was spelling google caught me so off guard i started laughing uncontrollably on the bus. Thank you for the entertainment!
I cannot understate how fantastic Isyander is at shouting "DELIVERED" and "TESTIFY" in a faux religious fervor its great
Lol. "To those of you not in the Patreon, you should be." I love it.
Gramaldus is one of my favorite characters from the 40K novels I've read so far, his relationship with the princepts and the guard were really humanizing!
Isyander and Kota looks especially sweaty/shiny in this episode.
Also, I would bring Celestial Lion Aken back by having one of his battle brothers talk him into switching places with, even going as far as to undergo facial reconstruction surgery and transplanting intact arm and leg for Aken's robotic prosthesis so that the Celestial Lion masquerading as Aken can pull it off with as few outwardly visible flaws as possible. Aken, haven taken up the name of the battle brother who literally gave his life for him on a hunch (possibly caused by the CelestialLion being an undiscovered nascent psyker, and getting a premonition of the near future), is still trying to revive the Celestial Lions chapter of Astartes, while fending off the periodic potshots from the allies of Inquisitor Apollyon (or was it Apophos?), who Aten, through his own investigations, is growing increasingly sure that he both has ties to Chaotic forces, may be either a Tzeentchian Chaos Cultist or an Alpha Legion infultrator, and was at least partially responsible for the initial chaos uprising that started this whole mess in the first place.
44:24- The last official count was, I think, 5,500~, and if I'm remembering correctly that was when Guilliman went to them and basically custom-made them a loop-hole to keep being effective and not destroy one of the largest forces still at his command.
The idea of Standard issue jump hight is so hilarious. I bet its 9.84252 feet exactly.
ISYANDER, look what you did! You broke Koda! Oh yeah, also here's a fun fact, Apollyon is just the Greek form of Abaddon. In case you were wondering if you were supposed to root for this guy

There are 2 bits of art of the Lions and the Templars fighting together. They are both awsome but I cant stop noticing that Grimaldus is absolutely refusing to look at where hes shooting his plasma pistol. And its now my jead cannon thats just something he does.

Also, warp warp warp.
Celestial Lions are my second favorite chapter.
and when I first read about them, gave me a newfound respect and appreciation for the Black Templars.
The fact that the Lions are a Successor of Imperial Fists, is just crazy to me. You figure with a name like theirs, they'd be from the Dark Angels.
Alas, it still makes for great story.

I just watched the patreon ep last night, been waiting 12hrs for this
"All these squares make a circle. All these squares make a circle. KAMI tell me I leave the the lookout if i want to." PoPo
2nd comment: the black templars are technically codex compliant (as are the Charcaradons) because chapters ON CRUSADE are exempt from the numbers clause on the grounds they will be continually taking casualties. So the black templars could potentially have 13000+ marines.
I vaguely remember them having been seen with 14 ships
@@AndersonBaker-uq3ku they also got Dorn's Gloriana class battleship the Eternal Crusader since the Imperial Fists had the Phalanx. So that's at least a 1000 marines right there not to mention serious firepower.
If I could have one thing for the Lions, it would be making the Ekene that got assassinated a body double and have his storyline become him constantly ducking Inquisition assassination attempts.
Anyway, I doubt it’ll be a close margin, but go team Warp

I just wanna say keep up the good work. You guys got me into warhammer, and that makes my workdays much more interesting when you upload. Also lets get a warp video for the next one.
I am sure that a video on the Warp will surely be chaotic...
the whole manheim gap sounds very like the charge of the light brigade, "theirs not to reason why, theirs but to do and die" could be any dornian legion's tagline
Lets get the warp video but you gotta talk about the deep warp its most complete explanation is from the path of heaven
* Mostly empty. It's the part of the Warp 'furthest' from realspace so it's not churned and stirred as much by it, there's not much 'down' there because there's simply no reason to be down there.
* Mostly calm. The Webway was built deep in the Warp specifically to avoid the turbulence of the shallower Warp layers. The main reason it's mysterious is that it barely moves which means Imperial ships don't go into it very often and don't have much to chart.
It's honestly presented as the most boring part of the Warp.
But also (these are shamelessly taken from reddit)
I'm shamelessly gonna piggy back of this and paste a collection of excerpts that are related to the deep warp.
‘There are layers,’ said Veil, impatiently. ‘Yes, there is stratum aetheris, the shallow ways. There is stratum profundis, the greater arteries, plunging deeper. There is stratum obscurus, the root of the terror. How does this help you? No living man can navigate the deep ways. Even he could not.’
‘But you try to map it.’
‘It could not be done.’ Veil shook his head with frustration. ‘He was wrong about that, at least. It is not a mirror. It moves like a living thing. It is a living thing. Touch it, and it trembles.’ He briefly lost his certainty. ‘I do not have the Eye, but still I have seen things. I have studied what they study. The complexity is… immortal.’
‘Try to explain.’ Yesugei spoke softly. ‘I am fast learner.’
Veil exhaled, his eyes widening. ‘The Seethe is an ocean. All know this - it has currents, it has depths, it has storms. Near the surface, you can see the Cartomancer’s light. You can follow it. You can use your Geller aegis, and you are kept barred from the Intelligences. But even then, you are just below the upper limits. Go deeper and the aegis shatters. The lights go out. The Eye is blinded. When men say that they traverse the warp, they boast, for no mortal does more than skim across eternity’s face, like stones thrown by a child. We do not belong there. It is poison for us, and the deeper in, the worse the poison.’
'Achelieux try to go deeper?’
Who knows? Maybe. He did not succeed. Do you know why not? Because it is impossible. It takes the power of a tormented sun just to puncture the shallowest shoals. No energy in our arsenal could possibly pierce further. String the reactors of a dozen battleships together, double their potential, and still it would not be enough. So no, he did not succeed.’
Chris Wraight, [Horus Heresy 36 - The Path of Heaven](wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/The_Path_of_Heaven_(Novel))
Note that this is from the perspective of a human at the time when knowledge of the warp was incredibly limited. And even then, he is simply explaining that warp capable craft only enter a shallower warp and that they can not enter the deeper levels which, as readers, we know is where daemons and the gods reside.
The same novel also explicitly states that the Webway exists within the Deep Warp.
He perceived the truth. Both thrones had been made for the same reason - to plumb the deeper ways, to free the species from the nightmare of the shallow warp, to bridge a link across the hidden paths, ones that only xenos had known, and which the Emperor had found some way to access. Dark Glass was the lesser node, the one where the technology had been tested, anchored in the furthest recesses of the void while the Great Crusade scoured its widening path ever further from the home world. In the chaos that had erupted since, the portal had been left behind, lost but not forgotten, neither by its creators nor its opponents in the labyrinthine halls of the Paternova.
Path to Heaven by Chris Wraight
We also know that Tzeentch is located in the same place as the Webway
Along with the Visarch and the Yncarne, Yvraine suddenly found herself adrift - not within the webway, but without. They were stranded in a near-silent limbo, trapped on the top of the psychocrystal walls. The sounds of battle were muffled beneath them, and the cool void sucked in its breath at their backs. Yvraine did not look around, for she felt something there, in the darkness. A voice in her mind said should she do so, she would behold the Changer of the Ways himself, and learn the meaning of madness.
Gathering Storm: Fracture of Biel-Tan
This is a comment from John French (author of the book Fateweaver) about Kairos and the Well of Eternity
Daemons are not living creatures. Each one of them is a facet of a Dark God’s power and nature. They are semi-independent, but ultimately they are only fragments of a greater whole. The mortal servants of Chaos are also slaves to the Dark Gods, their minds and bodies are twisted by the Warp, but they can still make decisions, hope, dream, and despair. They can plot and betray. That mortal independence, ultimately, is what makes the Gods crave their souls.!
So where does that leave Kairos Fateweaver? Tzeentch wanted to look into the Well of Eternity but would not risk to go himself, so sent one of his Daemons, which is actually part of him… and now Kairos Fateweaver knows more of the future than Tzeentch himself, while existing as part of him. How does that work?!
The answer is that it doesn’t. It makes no sense - because that would mean that Tzeentch both knows all of the future and past and does not. It means that part of him is, in one way, more powerful than the rest of him.
And that’s fine.
It’s fine because the story of Kairos Fateweaver, and the Well of Eternity, is just that; it is a story told about something mortal minds cannot understand, and can only describe through metaphor. Th**e Well of Eternity is just a name. There is no hole in the middle of a fortress that does not exist that goes down for ever. Tzeentch does not literally listen to his Daemons. All these things are just skins that are pulled over a part of the vast, intangible malevolence of the Warp. The truth really cannot be known.
How cool is that?
Okay, you done it. I have no idea what to pick from this bracket. Not because I don't like the options. It's that I don't _not_ like them. I do want them all (Warp thematically the least, but I'm excited what you're going to do in that episode.)

“Funny bird man”
38:54 I listened to the patreon ep first, and I was actually raising an eyebrow at the Ork sniper part. It wasn't until now that I reliased that was a Vindicate Assasin all along. I don't really know if orks really have snipers given how they're all about being in the middle of the fight, but them taking out the chain of command in order one by one was questionable.
LET'S GO WE GOT AN EPISODE!
The Celestial Lions are such a cool chapter. I hope lore-wise we get a moment where Guilliman or El Johnson basically turns to the Inquisition and says "You've made your point, stop this now before you cause a schism between the Inquisition and Astartes. If I even think you might be carrying on with this Vendetta there'll be trouble you can't handle"
Loved this episode as always and my vote is for the wrap,
