Taylor Dayne was a total bad ass lady and very underrated!
I met her on the 80s cruise, March 2020. She is an amazing performer, and her voice is better than ever. Note: she wasn't in the original lineup, but when 3 headliners backed out last minute due to coronavirus fears, #TaylorDayne fearlessly joined us and put on two incredible shows. Big respect and appreciation, Ms. Dayne, and thank you for the sushi.
This is the one that started it all! Taylor Dayne is a very powerful vocalist and she can still hit those notes today. She was so popular she opened for Michael Jackson in the late 80's.
On the BAD WORLD TOUR aswell. Which ended up being the biggest tour of THE decade and arguably the whole century.
I was obsessed with this song when it came out, she was so underrated.
I remember this too. I saw her twice in concert. She was pretty big and had a string of hits. I don't think she was underrated.
Yes very true she had a great voice
So Simple, but one of the best videos ever. Great song. Great dancers and Unreal performance from Taylor.
My favorite 80s song
She wasn’t really. She was a powerhouse with a string of hits off 3 or 3 hit albums.
Your reaction was EXACTLY like our reaction in 1987! I was a Senior in HS and she hit like lightning. It was awesome...
laugh! i know right!...
😂😂
I remember reading in "Billboard" magazine, that Taylor Dayne had 5 singles that reached "Number One" on the Billboard R & B Singles Chart (the first white artist to achieve this landmark).
So many of us fall in love with Taylor's one-of-a-kind voice on first listen. She's one of my all time favorite singers. Heart of Stone is another fantastic track of hers that I highly recommend 💗
She was very underrated.. beautiful woman, incredible voice.. love this song since it came out in the 80s !!
btw.. do a reaction to Mr. Mister - Broken Wings & Kyrie (live versions) / John Farnham - Help (with the melbourne symphony orchestra) :D
The clothes aren’t retro - the video is from the 80s, so are the clothes
yeah exactly
Levi's 501
I had to laugh at that comment.
When she said retro! I thought oh crap! I’m oldddddd lol 😂
I was confused... does she not know this was shot in the 80's??? Retro 😂😂😂
If I remember right, this came out first. This was her first hit.
I love how she sings. It takes me back to the late 80s! My teen years!
‘I’ll Always Love You” (not Dolly/Whitney - a totally different song) is excellent. ❤️ Taylor is one of those artists that you suddenly remember you love everything they ever sang.
" I'll be your Shelter " is a different side of Taylor, the message in it is Intense and touching...
Yes! I just requested it too!!
I'll be your shelter was my favorite song for a couple weeks back in the day :)
LOVE HER AND JODY WHATLEY “ REAL LOVE “ they were the Divas
I think she had a better voice than Madonna back then! If no one has requested The GoGo's, the were very popular 80s girl group.
Laura Branigan had some good songs back in the day too. Love these old tunes.
exactly.. real talent!...
One of my favorite 80s songs. 💛
Damn I miss the 80s! Clubs were so much fun
My mum loved Taylor when I was growing up! She did a cover of Can't Get Enough of Your Love that was pretty big in the 90s. My personal favourite is I'll Be Your Shelter!
Now listen to Lisa Stansfield , All Around The World same time period and a huge hit. Pat Benatar, Love Is A Battlefield another huge hit and one of many for her, Anastacia All Outta Love.
U taking me back bro'
This dance music genre is freestyle, but after this song and “Prove Your Love,” she demonstrated that she, like Pink in later years, would not be defined by genre.
Gotta love that '80s sass club mix! From '70s disco to '80s club mix to '90s beatbox -- all "dance pop"! We could use more dance in our lives right now. Keep up the exploration, I love your delving into all the great genres of music and the different methods of artistry.
Taylor Dayne is an Indispensable Talent! Got this album on Vinyl!
I love Taylor Dane. We used to dance to this song in the clubs all the time in the 80's. Great job India. Yeah, the clothes were so much fun back then. I had a black jacket just like that back then and my hair was like that also only it was permed not crimped. Lol.
You would love "Prove Your Love" by Taylor Dayne. Girl's got a voice!
I've got the same display picture on my Whatsapp as yours, cool we love M&Ms 😂
React to "Don't Rush Me" one of her great songs. Also "Heart of Stone" and "I'll Be Your Shelter". Vocal powerhouse!!!
Ahhhhh 1987, those teenage years... This was a dance floor explosion when it came on back in the days. Love Taylor Dayne.
Everybody hit the dance floor when this came on, a staple at the clubs. She had such a powerful voice.
Please react to "I'll Be Your Shelter" by Taylor!! Its the BEST!
Agreed. One of my go to "feel good" songs.
Yes! Agreed! My fav of hers!
I agree with this so much. Taylor Dane was older and had a soulful confidence and power in that song that is so comforting.
Please check out "Prove Your Love" and "Don't Rush Me" by Taylor.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"I feel the night EXPLODE when we're together!" is one of the great openings ever.
Wish I could click my heels together and go back to this time.
"Send me a lover" by Taylor Dayne
Check out Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam, "I Wonder If I Take You Home", "Head to Toe", and "Lost In Emotion" .
This was her first one. The fire packed at action packed 1980’s. Yep yep. That’s it right here
Yes... Yes... And Yes to everything you said... She had one of the best voices at that time
This and Paula Abduls 'Straight Up' are my 2 stand out dance pop tracks of the late 80s. It's the heavy beats and synths I adore 😍
Big Hit All Over The Radio .Great Voice .
Hey beautiful , try "I'll be your shelter" She kills it! Stay positive!😄💜
Yes! My favorite of hers!
She should have been so much bigger than many of the 80s mega stars. One of my favorite singers from the 80s. Beautiful, talented beyond belief.
This takes me back to fun skating arena days as a kid back in the late 80s 😊 Another good one to review would be ‘Let Me Be The One’ by Expose, it came out around the same time.
What about Secret Lovers or Meeting in the Ladies Room? :)
@@californiahummus Yessss! 👌🏼I love me some Atlantic Star and Klymaxx!
Unitedskates land with the skating dinosaur
Omgb yes!!
Yassss TAYLOR prove your love and don’t rush me are also good ones u shud react to by her
The way she sings used to drive me nuts. But now because it's from my olden times, I'm like "YAY! Taylor Dayne!" 🙌😄
"I'll always love you" by Taylor is one of the best ballads of all time imo....do it India
The bass the drums and the brilliant singing along with the keyboards ... sublime WORLD Hit this song and still is !
80"s music! This was my jam, she has done so much for the music industry but not recognized as much. A real singer, no doubt. You should also listen to Nushooz, and Jane Child.💜💜💜💜
80's rocked. Was cool growing up in that era.
She kinda scared me though.
Next in line : Shannon with "Let the music play" !!!
That's another of my favorite singers of the 80's, Taylor Dayne is a true talent and i still love her songs
This one best songs ever for this genre. She puts so much into her performance.
'retro outfits' ? No. That's just how a lot of late 80s pop looked back then. It was 'contempory' at the time.
@Mitchell Waldrep actually there are some young people on Instagram bringing back the mall hair look with the teased bangs and perms.
@Mitchell Waldrep sorry about that, read it wrong.
Also check out Taylor Dayne song "I'll Always Love You"
I love her song "I'll Be Your Shelter". Cool video as well.
I’ve loved her since she came out. She’s one of a kind and highly underrated.
Taylor Dayne's vocal power is what made me understand the word "diva".
Quintessential 80s. Hair, attitude, energy.. Bring it, Taylor!
Taylor Dayne - Love Will Lead You Back
My sophomore year of high school, in 1988 I was 15, was when this album was released and when I saw her live at Summer Jam '88 with Timmy T, Stevie B, and JJ Fad....😁✌🏻
SUMMER JAM🙌🏾🙌🏾
I love your reaction! This is still a great song amd Taylor put her heart and soul into it.
Another fantastic classic. She had one of the voices and was noticed by even pre-teen boys ;)
This is a trip down memory lane. I was 12 back then. Still a great song!
Yes, you are right. I worked at a Top 40 radio station at the time and this was a very popular song.
Continue your journey with the 80's by checking out JODY WATLEY " I'M LOOKING FOR A NEW LOVE" !!!!! You will love it. Also I just wanted to thank you for giving me some joy while I'm fighting breast cancer. Love your reactions.
I still listen to this song to this day. A lot of energy and I like the drums.
Loved this growing up. I did all the dance moves😂😂
Brilliant reaction to an incredible song taylor has one of the best female soaring vocals out there very unique vocals
This is from the 80s, so it wasn't really retro haha
Yea it was, Most everything she is wearing came from the second-hand store from the 20s to the 60s Its just girls wore the underclothes as the outfit. corsets, Crinolines... cheap & second hand. Cindi Lauper & Madonna were the queens of the thrift store look. Retro never dies.
@@rockubtzer No it wasnt retro it was the style of the 80s yes taking things from charity shops but as you agree yourself wearing them in a different way, so creating its own style, If the clothes were worn as they were originally intended that would be retro
@@_Sarby1 Believe what you want to believe I am just discussing splitting of hairs. Just because you wear it inside out doesn't make it new or different and giving it a different name doesn't unique you are just fooling your self if you think skinny jeans are new because tight pants were the rage in the 70s & 80s. Now body modification like horns and face piercing face tattoos that's new. Retro is using designs from the recent past. it is reusing old clothes there is no how to. If you buy a Honda and make 100 modifications you are still driving a Honda It is unique maybe one of a kind but it's a Honda.
@Custom Chevys Who made it Guess, Jordash, Gloria Vanderbilt, Chic, Members only? What company cashed in on the trend? I'd like to peruse the vintage catalog.
@Custom Chevys Yes but the fashion in the 80s was leg-warmers & sweatshirts neon colors, headbands, designer jeans, parachute pants, MC Hammer baggie pants. The androgynous Boy George look. Now that look was anti-fashion for people who bucked the trend and just wore Vintage Retro undergarments for their shock factor, mothers & fathers knew kids were running around in underwear. Madonna was arrested for it. It was not the mainstream look precious few people could pull off that look. It is sold as Vintage Retro even then because it was nothing new in substance.
You know it's good when your getting up and out your chair
I use to dance to this at the club! This song and Prove Your Love are 2 of my favorite dance tunes :D
I have been waiting for someone to react to Taylor! Love her! Her song, I'll always love you is awesome!
Amazing singer!! Love her! Powerful voice!!
A high energy jam. The dance floor really came alive when this jam was played in the dance clubs!
One of my fave dance tunes back in the club days. She's amazing.
Dayum, she has an incredible and powerful voice.
The 80s were a fun, innocent era.
In every video or recording from an era, such as this the spirit, or Zeitgeist of that age is imprinted quite literally on the recording. And the viewer will experience that to some extent whether they like it or not. Which is why when watching 80s videos many, especially those who are receptive to it, can feel that very fun and infectious innocence of that era.
One of my favorites of all time! I danced my ass of to this! I love you Tayolr forever!
I'll always love you !! another great song by Ms Dayne !!
i love this lady good god what a crush i had i would dance and dance to her so much jams in the 80s thanks to my parents for making me at the right time !
Love will bring you back. Listen to this one it's awesome, you will love it.
My wish came true! More Taylor Dayne! Yes!!!!!!!
Loved the permed hair.
Danced many times to this song.
Her voice is unmistakable, fierce and golden!😍 I think she may be POPCORN on the Masked Singer?
My childhood! ❤️ 80s style was so bad that it was great. Lol
Love to jam to my girl Taylor. She should have been a bigger star with a voice like that. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
HER VOICE IS AMAZING THANK U 🙏 FOR PLAYING HER SUCH AN UNDER RATED ARTIST AMEN 🙏
Back in the day, there were a few songs that were guaranteed to get people up and dancing, whether when throwing a party or rolling back to someone's house after a late-night-out. Taylor Dayne's "Tell It To My Heart," "With Every Beat Of My Heart" and her version of "Can't Get Enough Of Your Love" were three of them. Add to that mix, Rick Astley's " Never Gonna Give You Up, " Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean," Real McCoy's "Another Night," Pet Shop Boys' "Domino Dancing," Human League's "Don't You Want Me" and N'Sync's "Tearing Up My Heart," and the party was underway. Of course to kick it off and get everyone on the dance floor, the first song to put on was New Order's "Bizarre Love Triangle."
If you like Taylor Dayne, you should take a look at Bananarama:

This was one my dance songs growing up. Everyday after school I had a list of songs if play to just dance my heart out... love this women. And don't rush me!! Thank you. Also prince found her
Soooo good! She came of nowhere and blew us away!
Taylor Dayne's whole being is on fleek
80s popular music was soooo good. Always will be the best. Love this song.
Great reaction, India! I have read that this was a "Throw Away" song, meaning that this song was passed up by someone else. She took it and definitely made it her own! Thank you for your reaction.
She is a very awesome lady
This is why watching reactions is better than just watching a video of a song you know by heart. You were awesome dear.
When this song comes on during GTA V, I stop the circle the block and listen to the whole song before going to do the mission lol.
Taylor Dane's got such a powerful voice and kills it with the 80's vibe.
Your heart is full of passion, I love that your reaction is amazing..
"Don't wanna fall in love" by Jane Child. You need to react to this.
This tune isn't funky. It's a catchy club/dance tune. What also set this tune apart is that she can really sing. Almost all of her contemporaries in the dance/club genre could not sing one lick! So for those of us who really appreciate a real singer, this was a very welcome and refreshing change.
YES!!!! I love how you love it LOL! Such an amazing voice and entertainer. Quintessential 80s. "Heart of Stone" and "I'll be Your Shelter" are my faves. "With Every Beat of My Heart" is another.
You have the BEST reaction videos on UA-cam! Thank you for bringing a smile to my face!
Just listen to the whole album. One hit after another, really. She’s one of the worldwide best selling artists.
Taylor always was a powerful pop artist.
