I know you love your job as much as I did, I'd break out in song at the drop of a hard-hat, usually an original made up for the occasion song! It drove my helpers crazy and on their toes!
lol...wrong language....just started watching, and this is going to be a great video. Bags make perfect sense. Thanks for the videos, youre one of the good guys. Questions for the operators...best ever.
I use to use a ball priming out down hill and I still do depending on how steep it is but I tried this bag truck trailer pumping the other day and I’m sold man thank you. I’ve learned a lot from you over the last few yrs as I’ve only been pumping a few yrs so thanks again and be safe.
Awesome to hear! My suspicion based on how segregated that first bit of mud in the hose was is that maybe a bit of water found it’s way into the hopper when priming.
again I will take partial credit for the bag trick. im sure other ppl have suggested but I gave a step by step and next video u did it so your welcome. lol just kidding , thanks for opening up a portal for us pumpers from everywhere to have somewhere to learn and bounce ideas off each other. also, I will suggest try to pump at a higher volume, the bags help a ton but you still have 20-25 ft of potential plugging from friction if the benny gets away from the mud. by pumping fast, the benny doesn't have to time to run and gets pushed by the the concrete behind it coating your hoses perfectly. give it a try. anytime I've accidentally primed out downhill or any way wide open, I've never plugged, even on a 350ft stretch downhill with nothing but 2.5' rubber hose. not saying pump wide open, just saying faster the better.
@@kimvasquez1435 priming slow is such a habit for me, and a tough one to break for sure. I’ve been making baby steps however. Primed out my last job at 50% volume even 😂😂😂
@@kimvasquez1435 Mu favourite thing about this channel has been the good, useful information and knowledge exchanged in the comments. I myself have picked up quite a few good tips and tricks.
Same here. Line-pumping days I skip cardio. I was walking with a limp at the end of this day. Old man knees don’t jive so well with no less than 15-20 round trips up and down that hill during the day. 🤣
also would recommend a come along or some sort of strap tying off a few hoses down that hill. nothings worse than plugging and trying to the pull the hose back up to hook up
The most amazing thing about this is how often the folks whom these are being built for are just normal, grounded, human beings like the rest of us. I’ve seen clients of a 25+ million dollar build roll up to site in a 2012 Toyota Camry just to see how things are going and say hello/thank everyone for working on their project.
I like driving small pump. Drive a 2014 Liebherr 24 meter. Go alot of thight places and alot of hose. Its the best and most quiet pump we have at work. We have putz, cifa and sermac.
Those Liebherr’s are sweet machines indeed.I had the opportunity to checkout their new 36XXT and the Conexpo show last match. I was VERY impressed. Definitely that 36XXT is up there on my wish-list.
I do indeed! Your old man is a beauty! One of my buddy’s local bought your dad’s old 38M from Alliance. It’s actually in one of my videos: ua-cam.com/video/yij_EURKxEo/v-deo.html
I'll keep my big pumps lol At least the big jobs usually order enough mud. If i had to pick one machine to run for rest of my life, it would be a 47m. Most versatile machine on the market imo. Just big enough to het some good commercial, but small enough to cram into tight slots. We do have a super sweet 40z tho......
40Z was my all time favourite, until we took delivery of our 38-5. The 47 I never really got too hot on, and not so much because of the pump unit (which is fantastic) but more because ours is mounted on an absolute turd of a chassis. Underpowered, under-geared, and turns like a Boeing 747. I feel like if it were on a better optioned chassis, I could very well be in agreement with you.
That was our initial plan, but seeing as we pour here only once every 4-6 weeks, and in between those pours they’re moving dump trucks/cranes/excavators/etc… in and out of the driveway, it wouldn’t have made sense logistically.
great video brother with your years of experience and you know a lot about pumps I have an olin pump that I have problems with the signal at 150' feet it fails and they have already changed three receivers and the antenna but it continues with the problem it is pump boss what advice can you give me thank you god bless you
Antenna placement can definitely have an effect, especially if the signal strength of the radio is not super robust to begin with (I personally have zero experience with the pump boss). That being said, we’ve used Omnex, Scanreco, and Aarcomm remotes on our Putz line-pumps over the years. The Aarcomm has by far the best signal. The Omnex was pretty good as well. The Scanreco would get a little iffy beyond the 175’ mark. To be fair to the Scanreco, this was some 10+ years ago now, and I believe an early iteration of their line-pump remotes. A lot could have changed between now end then.

Yeah man, I’ve never had good results with it. I actually have found it to be worse than water in that when it does plug in the hose, it’s an absolute stubborn “you know what” to bang it out. Big ‘Ol ball of gel and sand. I’m convinced that there’s something procedural which I must be doing wrong. Manufactures sell a TON of this gel type primer, there’s no way everyone buying it is experiencing the same crappy results as we are…. 🤔🤔🤔
Agreed, it is nice to get a mix of different types of work. I do didn’t that older I get, the more I look forward to the nice resi gigs versus slugging it out in the go-go-go commercial environment.

Especially when the days roll beyond the 12-ish hour mark. We gotta entertain ourselves somehow just to maintain sanity 😂

Hauling hose around all day is the reason I don't do cardio in the gym haha especially when you're going up and downhill

With many pours at this site ,why not leave a hard line set up in place?

Slick Pak is the worst for priming out with system or rubber hose

Those bags are a neat idea for down hill for control
Yeah, despite the fact that we still plugged on this one, they do help quite a bit on the downhill primes.
