    So glad I've stumbled on your channel. Ten years into this job, never thought about using a range finder. I'm getting one, ... today. Those set up plans were really detailed and laid out well, I only WISH our low cost living area was that detailed. Yall make things look as easy as they should be. Thx for your passion in this job man. Good deal.

      I'm always impressed at what you guys are able to tailgate using those front discharge mixers. We have only rear discharge mixers in our area, and from what I can see, they're not nearly as versatile as the front discharge units.... which works out well for us pump guys I suppose 😁😁😁

      @@canadianconcretepumper1979 yes it does and thanks. BTW my dad helped re design those trucks (he is a retired concrete truck driver, and he went to advance and imi up to a city here in Indiana and basically was 1 of the 5 drivers that was asked to go and make their suggestions on how to make em better, my dad told them they needed a bigger catwalk and a hose up top and a few other points. I may tell the story one day. or better have him tell the story. the rear discharge trucks are alot cheaper to make. but people still pump around here. alot of line stuff w big heavy hoses. but we got boom pumps too kinda like what u use. we just never use em. I find it is just to much to line up and the wash up is weird here in Indiana. u can't wash out on a rock pile or a garage, u have to have it contained. or it's a big fine. so the buggies are sheep to rent. more work but I just find it easier to work w in the long run. anyways have a great week my friend

    I find it really exciting and interesting watching how it's done in Canada. It brings a good bit of perspective and new ideas. The trick with sugar in the hopper saved me from a bad situation a few days ago, so thanks alot for that! Keep up the good work and greetings from Sweden!

      I always love seeing feedback like this. Sharing my experiences to possibly help others and/or learn new techniques myself was the premise behind me starting this channel. Those $3 bags of sugar have saved me so much blood, sweat, and quite literally tears over the years.

    A 200 slump in the beginning is unheard of in Norway. We'd be rocking a 700 mil slump, or self comprimating concrete as they call it. Just flows to where it needs to go on its own without losing any of the compressive strength of the concrete. Love the video

    • @canadianconcretepumper1979
      @canadianconcretepumper1979  2 роки тому

      Yeah, it's pretty rare that we see conventional concrete slumped to more than a 170mm. Like you said, any wetter and the contractor often just will just use a self consolidating mix.

    • @canadianconcretepumper1979
      @canadianconcretepumper1979  2 роки тому +1

      I use the bentonite pretty much every time. If I know it’s going to be a quick job and I’m able to washout right there on-site, I’ll sometimes just use a quick spray of oil inside the hopper, but Murphy’s law, another job will come up and now I’m rolling straight to it dirty 😂😂😂

    • @canadianconcretepumper1979
      @canadianconcretepumper1979  2 роки тому +1

      The super quick and easy pours, dusting the inside of the hopper can actually make the washout a little bit more tedious, but “quick” and “easy” is something we don’t see too much of these days.

    • @canadianconcretepumper1979
      @canadianconcretepumper1979  2 роки тому +1

      So many factors to take into consideration (slump, mix design, boom position, etc…). I find that when pumping with the volume 75% or higher I’ll keep my engine RPM maxed out, or very close to it. The only time I dropped the RPM’s down during this pour was on the top-up pass, end even at that I only dropped them down for perceived fuel savings.

      Your skills are AWESOME on the pumper boom and that comes with practice & patience so you will most likely surprise yourself with how good your drone skills could be as time goes on.
      Some very experienced You Tubers have crashed drones and came back smarter from the momentary set back.
      I am at awe with what people can do with various remotes .
      I personally don't play video games & trying to advance using Guitar Hero taught me I would need a voice response controller to gain any level of success because my brain certainly could not respond to what my eyes saw yet my brother in law with no remote time was INSANE at playing Guitar Hero and he is definitely older than you so don't give up on trying to master the drone.
      A drone is DEFINITELY CHEAPER than a pumper truck if you unfortunately have a mishap as you improve your flying skills.
