Honestly, I prefer the OG green Dragonite. It actually retains some of the serpentine shape it had a as a Dratini/Dragonair. It could definitely use some refinement, but I really wish this is what had been used as the baseline for all future sprites.
I guess despite all that I said in the video, it does look more menacing which is fitting for the 1st fully evolved dragon type. It looks more like a teddy bear now
yeah the sprites in green look like they just finally figured how to use a mouse in ms pain. blue gets alright improvements but they started to trickle in with the last couple of sprites. idk what happened with yellow , i guess they finally hired a 10th member who could actually sprite green mew is the scariest ugliest thing, it's like a manifest brain tumor with legs
Blue Golbat is iconic and conveys the wretched, disgusting essence of Golbat better than any later sprite. Totally agree on all the other sprites though, Red/Green was rough
@@critburnflinch I didn't play the first Pokemon games, but I did catch the days of Ferarigyator from generation 3 and the neutered Typhlogion from generation 6
Gamefreak has been reeeal quiet since this video dropped..
hehe they know what's up

So much truth in what you said. Yellow still has some colour adjustments that could've been made but overall, none stand out as "bad"
Do NOT let golbat near your balls
But it's gonna find its way....

That's fair, I think they were going for that but it didn't turn out perfectly as it was one of the first designs. Definitely iconic though!
Golem looks stoned.
because it is stoned
Actually, you MUST put a Golbat in Red / Blue only for sprite. It will kill everyone who will look on he
Some of the beta sprites look better than Golbat's Red / blue sprite.
