      @albutcher9152 $1600 for 25watt head is expensive, it's basically a bedroom/studio amp. Your paying the Mesa brand name tax. For that money the bedroom guy would be better off with a high end modeler.

    I love my Mesa Trident. One of the best amps I have ever owned. Mesa is known for such a warm tone. I thought Marshall were great amps but when I got my Mesa nothing can compare to the sonic assault it delivers. This looks like a great amp to practice with and not piss the neighbors off as much.

  • @Swampster70
    @Swampster70 Рік тому +4

    When dialing in a Mesa, always start with the knobs nearest the input cable - gain and treble are always have most effect.
    I've developed a liking for the little 25 watt Mesa's. The Mark V is my go to amp these days. Tighter than a ducks arse in a cold lake and heavier than I need it.

    Sounds great! A litle info for those that are unaware. Many people think that a 50 watt amp would be twice as loud (decible wise) as a 25 watt amp. That's not how it works. In order to get twice the volume from a 25 watt amp you would need to times it by 10..so you would need a 250 watt amp. To double the volume of a 10 watt amp you would need a 100 watt amp..and so on and so on..10 watts and even 5 watts are not going to be "bedroom" level amps..way too loud. A 1 watt amp is what you'd want.

    It's like magic! You get an amp and guitar and you have no idea what kind of tone you will out of it. You play and then add overdrive to attempt more sound range. Distortion is just another way of overdriving and saying pre-amp. I use to always plug them to the front because their was no effects loop. Now many amps have a number of effects, modelers, drum beats, probably even recorders built in. I like stripped down and easy but I'm learning more and gaining confidence.

    To me this amp doesn't have the full punch or full lower mid-range warmth of a Dual Rectifier though it has a little bit of low end bass warmth, but it does have all the Tone and crispy high end crunch that is very delicious to the ears. I wonder if blended with a Dual Rectifier L/R if this amp will fill in the missing crispy highs the Dual Rectifier is missing? Great Mesa Boogie amplifier regardless, and I personally think it is their Best Amp So Far!!!

And, while we are at it, one request: As someone who loves listening to metal but not necessarily play it by myself (I would get fired from the band if I did), can you do a 5 seconds "AC/DC" sound test in each amp video? Just to hear it being punched through a low gain crunch setting. That would be super awesome.
