I remember your bread baking video. Also starting over as a new widow myself, I could feel you pouring your grief into that dough, pondering the newness of your new reality and drawing comfort from the familiarity of a long practiced skill. You seem to have made many strides toward finding a new normal. You're sweet and very courageous! May God continue to bless you.

Heather, you are healing wonderfully! Your moving forward in the midst of your healing and just being yourself is a powerful blessing and ministry to all who take time to be a part of your channel. As someone who has worked with those having traumatic brain injuries and having complex PTSD, you are doing exceptionally well. Part of your memory issues are related to PTSD as well. When I was first triggered with PTSD I went from cooking gourmet meals to it taking up to three hours to make a pot of coffee! I could not cook at all. It took me two years to be able to start cooking again. Again, you are doing wonderfully in your healing.

Yes. I have PTSD when driving in the passenger seat. I get spooked and startled so badly. It’s like white knuckle. Working with a therapist through it. So is Mason. He gets nauseated from anxiety in the car. We still have healing to do. 🙏🏻

Suttons Daze is doing a Canuary Collaboration with several other homesteading channels. It’s crazy, I was binge watching them last night and thought of you. The very first thing I canned was grape jelly from your channel, back in 2017. I’m so glad to see you back and look forward to hopefully seeing more of you. God bless 🙏🏼💞

Girl, i missed you on many levels. In October i suffered a Sudden Cardiac Arrest. They had to give me CPR and Defib for about 8-10 mins. I was on a ventilator for 3 days and was fitted with a pacemaker. My recovery is ongoing. I also have some brain injuries due to lack of oxygen. I have thought about you and peeked at your channel and your facebook when i had time or felt up to it. only 1 out of 10 survive and i was that 1. The doctors said i should not be here. GOD brought me back for a purpose. I love you and i have missed you so much. I am still here for you always and forever

I lost my fiancé 10 days before our wedding 3 years ago. You give me a glimpse at how I can grow instead of staying stagnant. I was very angry at God. I’m not ashamed to say that. Grief and loss is personal and we get through it and we learn to live with it. It’s no one’s place to tell us how we should do it. Or how we should act or conduct ourselves. Learning from others is important and I’m ready. Take care and love to you and your family❤️

@@TheKneadyHomesteader very true. There’s only one worse grief and that’s the loss of a child. I’ve never had that nightmare come to me but I know many who have. Your MATE is part of you. I’m not the same person since Mark died. The book “It’s Ok That You’re Not Ok” by Megan Devine helped me tremendously. It also helped my daughter to understand and accept me after Marks death. The book also helped her grief because she loved him like a father. And a dear friend helped me. She lost her son when he was 10. When I told her how angry at God I was, she told me she absolutely understood. She said time heals and it does. I am no longer angry but my faith is not the same. But I don’t worry about it. I keep walking this path I’ve been given. ❤️

I always wish I had a slow roaster like my daughters that she roasts the turkey in - so I could make tomato sauce and bone broth to can. The "funny" thing is, I got a water bath canner like yours last year and never once thought to use it for cooking. I'm in the middle of canning bone broth and dry beans for homesteader fast food! SO GLAD I watched today's video and so glad you are dipping your poor broken hands back into canning. We missed you and welcome you back so much.

    • @wendyburston3132

Is there a special type of canner to use for cooking also. I would like to learn how to can bit have limited space so a dual purpose pot would be great

    • @iartistdotme
      @iartistdotme 3 роки тому +1

@@wendyburston3132 The electric canner is only for hot water bath canning for food like jams, pickles which are high acid or high sugar products. A pressure canner is for meats, broths, etc. and is entirely different from the electric canner. So if you want to learn to can, I would start with water bath canning for jelly, fruit, pickles. So much fun. I didn't realize that I could cook in my canner before I saw this video and sure enough, the recipe book that comes with it allows me to cook, also. I wanted to make tomato sauce (high acid produce since you use lemon or vinegar) but takes a long time to throw the tomatoes in, cook them down over low heat, then put in jars and can. I have an electric water bath canner, a steam juicer, and a pressure cooker - all space hogs! But the worst user of space is all the canned items I've made and the unused jars stored up. However, those can go under the bed, in a closet, etc. Good luck and this channel is a great one for canning and bread making. She is amazing.

Tragedy in our lives results in one of two outcomes. It tears us down and destroys us, or it strengthens us and our faith and we emerge from the wreckage a new being. You will never be the same as you were before but you will also forever have this amazing relationship walking hand in hand with God. You do whatever you need to keep yourself sane and serene and happy. Privacy is a good thing. Isolation is not. Sending so much love and respect, Sister. 🙏🙏❤️❤️🙏🙏

WELCOME BACK, SWEETIE!! You and yours have remained in my prayers, and will continue to be. I am thrilled for your 'changes,' as well! I've been canning, making bread, and all the usual country/farm stuff, for nearly 70 years, but, with family all grown up, it had slowed down. But, it was YOU that motivated me to get back to all of it. I have been doing a huge garden, and preserving everything. In addition, I help younger people set up their gardens, and teach them how to start seeds, grow, maintain, and preserve, their harvests, in addition to seed saving. I give each of them hundreds of seeds that they can choose from. It is so rewarding to teach and share with others, as YOU have done. I pray continued healing and blessings upon you and your family. God is ALWAYS faithful to his children!! I'm SO glad that youre back!! Looking forward to much success for you!!

You can put the broth in your ice cube tray and then put in a freezer bag so you can use a little or as much as you need for that meal. Blessings Heather.

Heather, try not to be nervous. Your canning skills will come back to you quickly. And as far as fulfilling a responsibility to your viewers, you always did that - in every video. It was obvious how important it was to you to convey the right and safe way of preserving. When you said you have come back a changed woman - of course you would be. How could one not be changed by the magnitude of what happened to your family? But it is good knowing that you and your kids have made it through such a long tunnel. All the very best.

So glad you found a local Christian church family, where you can physically connect. Online support is one thing, but sometimes we need tangiblity .
As far as momentary mental "spaces", don't be self-conscious. We all do it. You're just more aware of it right now. And many, many of us deal with awkward physical abnormalities and inabilities. So what if we do it differently...we DO it!!!
Much love to you,and Praise to God!

Glad to see you’ve been healing both physically and spiritually.
This video is such perfect timing as I’ve been wanting to learn this, so thank you. I LOVE that you are splitting them into the shorter videos (easier for me also).
