I have discovered on my bike - a 2022 scrambler, that the shock bolts are T55 not T50. They are both the same so check the bottom bolt (which you can see) before attempting the top one which you can’t see. Love the channel.
I did a shock change on a R nine T today, without removing the wheel. using a hydraulic trolley jack to jack up the middle of the bike so that the top of the shock clears the top of the sub frame(and the plastic tray). I used a trolley jack to slowly raise the middle of the bike just enough. Then i used scissor jack( to gently lower bike down to align the lower shock bolt holes.).. If i had a block to sit the scissor jack on , i could have done the whole task with that only.
We would recommend doing the rear shock for most models. Once you have judged the improvement the rear shock gives you then maybe consider the front end, we don't think it's as much of a requirement.
Answer is not clear. Here is my opinion: New adjustable rear shock in the r nine t classic is far better than original. For me it’s sufficient enough, but shocks from oehlins, Wilbers or bilstein will be better than the updated one also. The updated one is not as harsh and off course can be adjusted to your weight.
@Pier City Cycles when you stating the exhaust needs to be removed, does the entire exhaust and headers need to come off, or just the muffler in order to get the rear wheel off? Thanks.

Hey there! Thanks for your comment - as noted in the video description - the models do vary. Always worth checking beforehand :)
Yes been waiting for something like this!
+1 for wilbers; i have exactly the same shock and it transforms the bike!
Just fitted the same today… just need to put it back together and I`m off testing… cant wait 🤩
Cool!
Simple. I must give you guys a call next week.
Brilliant video....thanks guys
Cheers David

Great video. Thanks for the clear tutorial and the tip for Wilbers. Do you also recommend an upgrade for the front end?

I fitted the Wilber springs to my UGS. Inexpensive & a very worthwhile improvement.
Great video! I’m looking to buy a Wilbur shock for my 2017 pure Low version. Can you please tell me the size shock I need to get. Thanks
The shocks are model specific. Simply choose the Pure 2017-20 and select the -25mm option.
Great video, two questions, how long is the Torx head driver and do you really need to remove the whole seat and seat support?
Really helpful tips on changing rear shock, Yea I can forget the air box removal I think.
What would you recommend for us in the states....rear shock?
What size do I need to get for my 2017 pure? I Jhabvala the low suspension version
When you say the stock shocks are bad are you referring to only the base model or also the upgraded adjustable shock on the R NineT?
The standard shock.

I think I am gonna buy Nitron rear shock and front tvt fork cartridges. How is Nitron compared to Willbers?
Total ignore
What is the brand of this shock?
Which one do you recommend for my 2017 R nine t pure? 31.7” seat height
The shocks are model specific, so choose Pure 2017-20 model. We always recommend using as much height as you're comfortable with.
Hi. Great video. Does a higher rear shock do not chance the geometry of the bike? And would you have to re-set cardan shaft anyhow? Cheers, Rolf

Just the muffler to get the wheel off.
The brake fluid certainly looks a grim colour.
