R.I.P. CJ Snare. One of my all time favorite rock singers of one of my favorite bands.
Ikr
They are really great guys. When this came out, they came to town for a show and had a meet and greet. My son was 9 and brought his guitar case for them to sign. He told him it was his birthday and they sang happy birthday to him. They came to town again a year later and we went to their meet and greet again. They remembered my son. I was standing back. The lead singer asked me if I was mom. They all stood up and shook my hand and told me what a good job I was doing in raising my son and letting him be himself. He had his hair down to his waist at that time. I always enjoyed their music.
RIP CJ Snare, thank you for such great music and memories 🙏🏻😭
R.I.P. CJ ❤ "Reach For The Sky" is a great one you should play from Firehouse 🤘
Great Song 😊 first Dance with my Wife😊 30 years😊
My sister used to babysit for the lead singer's children when we were teenagers. We got to meet the whole band and one year at a Christmas party at their house. The whole band played in the back patio area. It was really fun.
That's awesome!
Lulu, I am glad you liked the song, I have enjoyed introducing you to bands like Firehouse, Damn Yankees and SteelHeart.
R.I.P Cj Snare one of the best singers of a band. What a voice
Sadly the lead vocalist of this band , CJ Snare , age 64 passed away a couple of days ago on April 5. I’ve seen videos of them live back in the day and they sounded awesome they were definitely underrated and in my opinion sounded better than more of some of the more popular bands out there because they could cover the vocals and backing vocals very well live when a lot of bands back in the day could not do it that well live. RIP CJ 🙏🙏🙏
I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that he is gone. I had the pleasure of meeting CJ along with the rest of the band after the show I went to in 2014. He was the kindest most humble person i've ever met. I was a 15 year old kid at the time and it was one of the most memorable nights of my life. I just saw Firehouse again this February, but discovered that they had another guy filling in. Come to find out CJ had been healing from an abdominal surgery for the last 7 months. He even posted last week that he is feeling better than ever and excited to hit the stage again with the band this Summer. He has been going through a lot, from cancer since 2020, to abdominal surgery. The last thing anybody expected was for him to suffer a cardiac event and pass away. It just goes to show you never know what day will be your last. Firehouse's music will always be a part of the soundtrack to my life
Hey Lulu, give a listen to all she wrote. It's a rocking banger
When I Look Into Your Eyes by Firehouse! 😎🔥🤘🎸
I saw them with Warrant and Trixter in 1991 at Harper Stadium at the fairgrounds in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
I'm sure glad you got to do this episode by yourself I'm sure you're glad that's how it was when I was a teenager

So sad to hear the news that singer CJ Snare passed away on Friday saw them live and they were amazing
I met Firehouse with this song, then bought all their albums to date. So sad to hear about the passing of CJ Snare. Long live Firehouse.
I love this band! You should next listen to "Don't treat me bad" by Firehouse
Another firehouse song I’d suggest you should check out, is “Don’t Treat Me Bad”

A bit of sad news... 😪C.J. Snare, lead singer of Firehouse, has just passed away at age 64... (R.I.P.)
Carl 'C.J.' Snare formed Firehouse w/ Bill Leverty (guitar) and Michael Foster (drums) in the 80's... adding Perry Richardson (bass)... Firehouse relocated from Richmond, Virginia to Charlotte, N. Carolina... They were signed by Epic Records and debuted in 1990... The self-titled 'Firehouse' album sold 2x platinum and 'Love of a lifetime' ... became their biggest single.
2nd album 'Hold your fire' went gold (half million copies sold) in the US w/ another ballad hit - "When I look into your eyes".
The 90's grunge era decimated the appeal of 80's rock and Firehouse saw sales decline for 2 albums - '3' in 1995... and 'Good acoustics' in 1996 before they were dropped by Epic.
Firehouse persisted on minor labels, releasing 'Category 5' in 1998... Bruce Waibel (bass) replaced Perry Richardson in 2000 and Firehouse released the album 'O2' that year... Bruce Waibel left the band in 2003 and unexpectedly died soon after at age 45.
Firehouse released the album 'Prime time' in 2003... but record sales were poor. So, Firehouse focused on touring on their catalog of music for the next 2 decades.
They're from my neck of the woods, North Carolina boys. R.I.P. CJ Snare
Rip CJ Snare
RIP CJ Snare
reach for the sky
You might like to look at Night Ranger, another 80s band. Start with "When you close your eyes"
RIP C.J. Snare😢
LU LU NEEDS TO GO BACK TO THE GREAT 80’s ALL WE CARED ABOUT WAS LOVE AND MUSIC 🎵 NOT GUNS OR ALL THE CRAP OF TODAY
Kind of confused with your comment. All decades of music are great not just the 80's (*NOT GUNS OR ALL THE CRAP OF TODAY*) strange comment too.
@@Musicmanrobert UHHHH DO YOUR HOMEWORK THE PRIEST THE MAIDEN ARE STILL TOURING TODAY THEY WERE THE BEST OF METAL FOR THE 80’s WOW REALLY DID KICK THE 90’s GRUNGE CRAP 💩 OH YEAH ITS ABOLISHED DONE GONE
I got this Album at home
Firehouse, alongside Mr Big, would be the most successful keepers of the hair metal flame in the dreary 90s. This song is from their 1990 debut, which is the one the US crowds remember most fondly today. Not well-deservedly so, though. Sure, it's a perfectly nice album featuring several big hits like "Love of a lifetime", "All she wrote" and "Don't treat me bad". However, it's the two followups, "Hold your fire" (1992), and "3" (1995), that are the true standouts in the band's catalogue: certified hair metal masterpieces where the playing reaches almost Mr Big/Winger-like heights of skill and finesse. Those albums also feature great power ballads - one major forte of Firehouse's - like "I live my life for you", "When I look into your eyes" and "Hold the dream". In addition to plenty of anthemic rockers: "Reach for the sky", "Love is a dangerous thing", "Sleeping with you", "No one at all", to name just a very few.
In the second half of the 90s, Firehouse's native US audiences infamously shifted their fickle trendy fancies away from hair metal for good (most of them probably still unaware of the genres ongoing triumphs elsewhere). Firehouse then, boldly but wisely, broke ties with their former record company, that was apathetically watching the band wane away to obscurity in the US without doing anything about it, to another ready and willing to focus on the Asian market where Firehouse were having not only unbroken but growing success. This was a good move. The band's subsequent releases were showered with Asian gold records for the remainder of the 90s.
Three of the four classic members still remain in Firehouse today: singer/guitarist CJ Snare, guitarist Bill Leverty and drummer Michael Foster. Bassist Perry Richardson, towards the end a growing creative force in the band, jumped ship in 2000 - after which their creative juices seemingly dried out, They have not released an album of new material since 2003. They do however still exist, but are seemingly and frustratingly content with just playing their classics to nostalgic crowds. Perry Richardson, on the other hand, is producing albums at a frenzic rate as a member of Stryper - he is coincidentally the first non-Christian member in that band' history. And his locks are still as red, and as delightfully rich, as ever.
RIP C J Snare. Jack Blades, others have eulogies.
The singer CJ just passed away yesterday 😢
CJ snare has passed away from colon cancer at 64 😢
The singer of this band died today! R.I.P.
Ugh...Lulu, you're great, and thank goodness you are young. You have been spared the decades of having to hear this song every single time someone got married. It got old very quickly.
They had the sequal to it on their next album lol When I look into Your eyes. If you was in a cover band like i was back then those two songs were on the set list. They were from North or South Carolina. When you open for a bsnd you cant play their songs so our set list was shorter that night.
Such sad news today Lulu. Cj snare the singer has died
