It will definitely outlast a Jeep 💪💪💪.
But it won’t even be 5% as good as one
In terms of reliability then yes. Off-road capability hell no
lol what’s the point if it breaks on the trail? I got to the top of the mountain! But left it up there
@@ltx383well that’s just mean………but so true
Been the owner of this exact SUV for a few months now and I have no complaints. Coming from a 2020 Ford Explore limited 4x2 this Pilot is way better with fit and finish. Needed something to visit remote fishing spots and launching my small boat ,trailer and Kayaks from gravel roads on wild life management areas. This SUV checked all the boxes.
thank you for that comment, I'm really looking for something solid as a 40 year old with 3 kids. I don't want no damn van, but I can't do 4 runner at my kids' ages.
I wish this guy made every video on the internet! Love the fast, to the point speaking! Also love my trailsport but wanted to give a shout out for not dragging out a video like every other video on the planet:)
ohh i like this guy. wish he could explain everything i had questions for!
I'm really considering a Honda Pilot, if l'm honest with myself this is all the SUV need. love the fact that it doesn't have a Turbo and rather has a V6 NA which equals reliability. And also, lI'm not sure if I would be comfortable rock climbing with my brand new 60K off-road truck/SUV so who am kidding. If really want to go off-roading would just buy a Honda SXS or a Polaris and tow it with my super comfortable Honda Pilot
Got my a week ago . Same color . Love it
Omg I love that color on that Honda
Nice! I hate big screens as we have to many in our lives as is. Simple solid long lasting very durable vehicle.
How fast should it hit in 60 mph? google says 6.8 secs but people had different times.
So is this power train more pleasurable to drive then the Vtec 3.5 with the 9spd?? On the Passport side thinking about grabbing a 2024’ before they change it to this new style power train of the Pilot
I don’t need off road features but love the look I’m comparing this to touring/elite model
Note: This is the Trail Sport and not the Elite. Not a perfect comparison to the top of the line Kia / Hyundai when this is not that. Elite will have heated and cooled seats as well as a slightly more stylish interior.
I've got this exact same vehicle, including the color. 1st gear hesitation on pullout is my only complaint (even with auto-start-stop disabled). Once moving, the transmission is excellent and responsive in all other circumstances in my experience. Disagree about the 3rd row being just for kids. Not sure if you tried sitting back there, but I'm 5'9", and my wife and I both sat back there on a recent trip and we both fit comfortably with plenty of head and knee room...this was actually a huge selling point for us over a few other main competitors. It's very comfortable though noise levels are just average...would've preferred something class leading in that area, though I love the NA V6 noise...and they let plenty of that in with heavy acceleration :-)
Just buy a pedal commander. Easiest fix for that.
OMG! The hesitation when applying the gas to pull out is soooooo annoying. I took my new 2024 back to the dealer after a week and the mechanic tweaked the throttle which helped a bit, but it still has a delay from the time you apply pressure to the pedal until it moves. My old Pilot was so much more responsive! This car responds fine once moving but on the pull out it lags. Of course I disable the Idle Stop every time I start it, cuz that just adds even more delay. Wish I could permanently disable the Idle Stop. Overall I like my Touring edition but VERY disappointed in responsiveness on initial pull out from stop.
I was hoping they fixed it in 2024. I guess they haven't figured it out yet, or it is a limitation by design.
Good feedback
It's by design to get the actual fuel economy they claim because most people don't know how to drive a car to keep their FE down. Eco, Smart & Normal modes will have those lags. If you want it quick off the jump switch it to sport mode you will be impressed but your gas will go quick, lol
They have auto stop by-pass kit to disable it for u
Can't wait for the Ridgeline trail sport edition
lol what’s the point if it breaks on the trail? I got to the top of the mountain! But left it up there
they need to put the large accord screen in this wth honda
Zf 8 speed is whole different story. Make any engine looks good and efficient whether in acceleration or fuel efficiency.
That’s how my pilot is. Slow response time but I think mine has an option to be less fuel efficient and more responsive. The air turns off at lights too as well if you don’t have that option off.
I have a passport which has an almost identical engine, the sport mode makes it way more responsive. It’s fine on normal mode, econ mode only use it for highway cruising bc it removes so much power that you’ll think your car is in limp mode during normal use
@@davewilson7602 Good advice thanks!
I tried putting mine in Sport mode, but it still has a hesitation when you apply the gas from a stop. So annoying!
@@davewilson7602I was wondering about that because he never said anything about switching the drive modes. My Palisade has sport mode and it gets up and goes but not so much when in normal or eco modes
I have a Palisade and in sport mode it gets up and moves right now. I do love that but with the cruise control it's always searching for that set speed which is annoying as hell. I'm on the fence trading the Palisade in for the Honda Pilot. I had a 2012 Pilot and absolutely loved it. Couldn't get myself to buy another pilot because they look too much like an ugly minivan until 2023 when they change the body style, now it has that boxy look I really like.
I purchased pilot trailsport last week. It has hitch installed. But, there is no harness wiring!
We ordered one so that we could get the wiring harness from the factory. It is ridiculous that Honda builds an SUV with 5000 lbs towing, includes a Class III hitch BUT no wiring harness. Also, almost as ridiculous is that they do not include a built in brake controller with the towing package.
Wire harness is behind a small cover on the bumper you remove
Have they fixed the hesitation/jerkiness in 1st gear that many people reported in 2023 Pilot?
My 2024 Touring Edition has a terrible hesitation when pulling out from a stop. (Idle Stop is disabled) The one thing about the car I find really annoying.
For what this is it seems really nice. V6 will appeal to a lot of buyers, the interior is nicer than a Toyota so I’m guessing it’ll sell really well.
That said, it doesn’t have much character to me, but you can say the same for most new cars these days unfortunately
Unfortunately EX-L doesn’t have a moonroof…have to go up to Touring to get a pano… at least make Pano an option at the EX-L level
First time I have heard anything negative about the transition and response of the honda.
The price sheet said "2023 Pilot"
My pilots suspension makes for a rocky ride like I’m driving over boulders. I’m going to trade it in soon. Idk if they are all like this but I may get a Tesla suv with the recent price reduction and tax incentive.
The trail sport is more of a off road minded version of the pilot. The other trims are a bit more refined.
LOL - good luck driving a Tesla over boulders
you must be trolling...
Funny, I have this same model...much smoother ride than the Jeep Grand Cherokee I traded in.
Honda just doesn't make cars that Wow. It's the reliable car, they don't make Preludes or S2000's anymore. And when they do, there's something about it that's just "Meh". Like the Type R Civic... but it's a 4-door. Womp.
Nice But slow down. You talk too fast and indistinctly at times. So I missed a lot.
Can you slow down when you talk, I can’t keep up
Terrible advice. I appreciated the up tempo. Not everyone can spend all day on here
You can slow the video.
Honda fraud! I bought the 2023 Pilot Trailsport that included the tow hitch. The day i planned to use it I realized the trailer wiring harness was missing! 😡
Maybe should have check for it before?
Why would you review a "Trailsport" model and not take it on some trails !?!?!?! You missed the entire point of the vehicle!!!
Even the redesigned chevy traverse with the Z71 has more off a appeal then this. This suv isn't really a standout in the midsized suv segment.
That’s true but people buy Hondas and Toyotas if they want to keep them for a long time, these have never been flashy compared to some of the competition
Traverse does look great! But this has a V-6
GM not reliable,
ya I had a Denali with the eco tech, and I legit sold it because GM records my conversations, and the engine can have issues wiith the valves siezing over time from changing from 8 to 6 to 4 cylinder. Was looking at the trailsport because dude it's a freaking honda, they last 500k... Show me a traverse that can do that...
are you speaking in high speed lol
