I can’t imagine how cathartic this must’ve been for Tennant. He was a young kid who watched Liz on the show growing up and now he’s met and gets to act alongside one of his childhood heroes. What a lucky guy
He wrote the preface to her autobiography (and read it on a YT clip somewhere..). Completely fanboy'd over working with her.
Tennant also married the daughter of his favorite doctor lol. The fifth, I think?
Well I'm so old that when you said 'Liz' I immediately thought of Liz Shaw, before Jo Grant, and before journalist Sarah Jane Smith.
I think he's not acting in the scene where he sees us for the first time (in a long time), I think he was genuinely that happy
@@bloodwolfgurlYes she plays jenny
Sarah: "I can't believe it's you."
(Mickey's scream echoes down the corridor)
Sarah: "Ok... now I can!"
Love it😀😀
Just like the old days: somebody's always in trouble, with screaming or yelling.
The awesomest moment in TV XD
missed that line.. good catch.
And her face when she said it...she couldn't WAIT to get back into the adventuring like the old days...
@@daynechastant - She LOVED it from the start. Nor was she stuck with the Doctor, like previous companions. She could leave. Any sensible person would have run as far as possible after encountering a Sontaran in the Middle Ages and dinosaurs in London. She stayed.
That is one of my favourite lines "Oh mate, the missus and the ex, welcome to every man's worst nightmare" :D
Sarah Gronow oh GOD don't remind me!! I've have one such occasion in my travels agreed a nightmare educational now in hindsight !! this was one of the best episodes of the series merging classic and new WHO!! ENJOY!!
Best line in doctor who
+Sarah Gronow yup best line ever
+Sarah Gronow Oh I agree. Its true though.
I reckon the real nightmare for the Doctor is when Rose and Sarah start comparing notes about their Doctor, and they're laughing about him when he walks in.😀
I can’t imagine how classic Whovians felt when they saw one of their old companions back on the series, but I bet it was a magical moment.
Speaking as a classic Whovian I cheered and cried.
It was pretty amazing, yeah.
It was special . . . stupid onions
Even as someone who didn't grow up with Classic Who, it was a magical moment.
It was. She had always been my favorite companion, and to see her again... just wonderful.
David Tennant's grinning like an idiot in this episode because he was living his dream: working with Elisabeth Sladen. Half his performance is restrained fansquee.
Lmao, probably.
beaniebobble peter davidson was his favorite doctor
Ironic how it's the other way around in the story. :P
@@joshhaddock6772 Especially since Peter is his father in law!
I read that his favourite was Tom Baker
I just love how Rose thought she was the only one. Dude's 900 years old. You think he waited that long to start making friends?
Not so much that as I don't think Rose had even considered the concept of former companions at that point.
hagamapama That's what I mean.
He's only recently told her about the time war and losing his people. because the doctor is so mysterious about his past she probably thought he was with other time Lords doing time lord stuff on gallifrey before the war and didn't realise he'd always been running like this
She should have, since he adapted so well to having passengers.
Sounds like one of those things you don't really think about considering the kind of adventures they have, not to mention how distracted you'd be about such questions while living in the moment.
The look on her face when she sees the TARDIS... Priceless. Absolutely priceless.
As genuinely happy as she is to see the Doctor, her first reaction looks to me like: "Oh HELL no."
@@captmurdock She turns, freezes in her tracks as she sees the large blue box she hasn't seen in so many years, a sign that a madman is on the scene.
And I love how the music is so haunting, almost like a ton of memories and experiences hitting you like a lorry
"Oh mate, the missus and the ex, welcome to every man's worst nightmare."
Mickey's getting even with the Doctor for teasing him for screaming.
I like that bit
Mickey would know.
I know it’s cliche, but I feel like Doctor Who has been missing that sort of banter since Davies stepped down as lead show-runner.
@@billylardner I completely agree. I stopped watching because it got way too dry and drawn out after Matt Smith's first series. The sets got way too boring and grey as well.
@@billylardner Davis is returning for S14 :)
This scene always gives me chills. I was born in 1983, long after Lis Sladen left the show, but the significance of that first moment when Sarah-Jane sees the Tardis and realises who the Doctor is... goosebumps every time.
I was born in 1973 and watched her in reruns. I know how you feel... Also, she was probably my first crush. You are missed, Miss Sladen!
Like Tennant, it was always 'Sarah-Jane (and Harry!) and the Docto'r for me as a kid. She really was the first leading lady who wasn't just eye candy and there to ask questions. I was a little boy who looked up to her as a role model, and I think she made me a better person and a better man.
Unlike others, she wasn't stuck with him because the TARDIS was wonky, or assigned to work with him. She met him while pursuing a story. Once they returned from the Middle Ages, she could have told him what to do with his TARDIS and headed for the hills like a sane person. Instead, she stayed. Until the Tom Baker era, when the character left UNIT behind forever, she could always leave (too late by then: she was hooked).
RTD was very good at that.
I was born in 1997 and even I felt the significance.
0:08: No eyes, no face at all to speak of... yet you can FEEL the TARDIS looking at Sarah Jane.
You can almost imagine the Tardis saying "Hello Sarah Jane"
And after 'The Doctor's Wife', you suspect that it was doing just that.
Yes Tardis is alive and sentient. She can't speak because she wasn't made that way but can always sass Doctor with her beeping and other noises.
And her refusal to obey him. She always took him where he needed to be.
In 'The Husbands of River Song' she put fake Christmas antlers on him while he was in the TARDIS. When he found out, he scolded her.
Our Sarah Jane we miss you.
We all miss her

Having unfortunately never had the pleasure of starting Doctor Who until halfway through 11’s tenure, I can’t even begin to imagine how much joy seeing Sarah Jane again must of brought to fans of Classic Who
As a young teenager I had a massive crush on Sarah Jane Smith (she was Jon Pertwee's assistant and then Tom Baker's). So cute yet sassy. Very sad that she died so young, by all accounts she was a very sweet person.
i started with eccelston and Tennant but before seeing this episode I'd gone on a binge of older pertwee and tom baker episodes so when i saw sarah jane and k-9 i had a massive fanboy moment
It was truly a beautiful moment.
Imagine my situation.
I started watching Doctor Who last month
Now the funny thing is....he says "half a dozen times since we last met", which you first think means six times since the 4th, which adds up to the tenth.
Until you remember Sarah *VERY* briefly encountered the 5th Doctor in "The Five Doctors". Half a dozen times would then make Tennant the 11th incarnation...and conveniently that little mathematical error was solved when it was revealed John Hurt was between McGann and Eccleston :)
@charles allan Um Leelas married, to a time lord, go watch classic era, and Sarah Jane was NEVER romantic, the ONLY hint ever was between 3rd and Jo!
It all works out in the end. Wibbly wobbly, timey wimey! :D
@@julieeverett7442 I mean, 8 and Grace were making out pretty hard

I mean when people say “half a dozen” they’re usually estimating. Like if you say “a couple” or “a few”.
I can't believe Rose thought she was the Doctor's ONLY companion. He's over 900 years old c'mon she must've at least thought about him having more people travelling with him.
I think she was more insulted that he never told her.
That's the difference between Rose and Donna. As for Gamelover254's comment about her being insulted that he never told her, has she ever asked? I get the feeling that discussion of anyone else ever traveling with the Doctor was an off-limits topic with both Rose and Martha. I'm sure Donna encouraged him to talk to her, without forcing it. She started out knowing about Rose and quickly realized she wasn't a kidnap victim, but a friend. Donna's comments to Martha when they met indicated he told her about Martha, too.
I know. When it came to Rose, she did a lot of assuming, everyone both before & after her had a clue & knew a little, or a fraction, more about the Doctor than she did. One of the many reasons that I didn't like her.
The Sixth Doctor said he was 900. He has to be over 1000 by now.
he's like over 2000 now. h'es doubled his life span in his last few generations
I still get teary watching for a host of reasons. The fact that Lis Sladen is not with us. The look she gets when she sees the Tardis. The fact that Sara Jane shows instant joy and then agony, seeing him alive and thinking that the Doctor had died. The fact that David got to play the Doctor with one of his own heroes.
Rest in power Elizabeth Sladen..
Elisabeth... her name was spelled with an S, not a Z

EASILY the best episode of the entire season. One of the best moments in all of Who time and doesn't get nearly enough credit as it should. Lis Sladen was one of the greatest actors to ever grace the show and there's a reason why she's heralded time and time again as everyone's favorite companion. It's times like this that one can see why. Amazing.

OHH and it makes sense in-universe that Sarah Jane would use the term "assistant" - during the time that she knew him, the Doctor was working for UNIT, and the assistants were literally his assistant within UNIT. Maybe she just assumed he was still working for them, and was investigating on their behalf.
why the Doctor don't work for UNIT? I never watched the old Doctor who so I don't understand some things... :/
Technically he still does work for U.N.I.T I mean he never quit
Back in the early 1970's, the Third Doctor was UNIT's scientific advisor - especially during the period when the Time Lords locked his TARDIS so it couldn't leave earth. Kate Lethbridge-Stewart's father was in charge of UNIT then.
That'd be season 7 and 8 of the classic series, especially.
Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stuart. Whenever it had been awhile, that was the first thing whichever Doctor said upon seeing the old Brig, as if to refresh his own memory as well as remind the fans who this was.. And what a badass he was.
Gotta get those episodes of the old show. The Doctor was captured by the Time Lords when he called them for assistance. They exiled him to Earth for several years until 'The Three Doctors', after which he got control of his TARDIS back from them. He hung about a few more years until he regenerated from 3 (played by Jon Pertwee) to 4 (played by Tom Baker).
When he was exiled, the Time Lords landed him near a UNIT operation. Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart had met him a couple of times during his second incarnation (played by Patrick Troughton). Which is how he ended up on UNIT's payroll.
".. I got old."
"Did you? I hadn't noticed."
(That's what that look is, in my opinion)
Have you noticed the Doctor aged backwards in his first regeneration cycle?
She Aged amazingly well. didn't she?
Sarah: "I got old!"
The Doctor (inner voice): "Never in my eyes, my Sarah Jane."
With some variation. 7 clearly looks older than 5, as does 9.
Albert Nave Two exceptions. Pertwee was older than Troughton and Colin Baker was older than Davison.
Sarah: I can't believe it's you
Screaming offscreen
Sarah: ok now I can cracks me up every time
That smile of 10's-I think he borrowed it from Tom Baker in that moment. :)
When the Doctor says "Like a little girl" I can't help but bust out laughing. One of Tennants best delivered lines.
I'm picturing pigtails. And a frilly skirt.
It feels like Christopher Eccleston bleeding through XD
I love Sarah Jane's reaction to seeing the TARDIS again, like she's seeing a ghost.
I always loved this scene.
The look on her face when she sees the TARDIS again is so genuine.
It like she seen a ghost
It's a wonderfully dramatic scene. I wouldn't change a thing.
Still odd that Sarah Jane would say she thought he had died. In a later episode of TSJA, she is informed that the Doctor *has* died, and she doesn't believe it because if he had really died, she would somehow know it.
+zoppie Actually, it was a running gag that Sarah kept on assuming Four was dead when he wasn't.
The Doctor had been gone from her life for thirty years at that point. A long time for a human to wait for anyone, so it would be natural for Sarah to assume, at some point, that he really had died and that's why he had never come back.
Or maybe that's how she accepted the fact that he never came back for her. In her mind he must have died, because that was the only excuse she would accept for his not coming back in all those years.
@@suziechapstick8236 I think this is it. Something similar was done with Jo in her TSJA episode. She waited for him for months/years and the only way she could make herself feel better about the Doctor abandoning her was thinking he just had not been able to return for her.
With Sarah-Jane it's a bit complicated. She left the show in 1976 as the 4th Doctor was called to Gallifrey for a story called _The Deadly Assassin._ Perhaps at that time she might have thought he died because he never came back, but she saw him again before _School Reunion._
In _K-9 and Company_, she receives a delivery (apparently from the Doctor) containing K-9 Mark III. In _The Five Doctors,_ she and various other characters are taken from their respective times and placed in the Death Zone on Gallifrey (K-9 was left behind). She mostly acts as companion to the 3rd Doctor (who she didn't expect to see again, having seen him regenerate) but also briefly meets 1st, 2nd and 5th Doctors, but the 4th was not there. She would probably have realised at that point that the Doctor had moved on.
It's heartbreaking watching this
Its also a reminder of what an amazing cast this was. The chemistry between the four of them radiates.
RTD as always a master craftsman.
This was written by Toby Whithouse
Guys why are you all hating on Rose or Sarah Jane? They are humans, they can't be perfect, I personally think their jealousy is justified, firstly because the Doctor left Sarah Jane and never came back for her and secondly because the Doctor never told Rose about the other companions, so I genuinely think that they both have the right to feel jealous. (just my opinion)
I think Sarah Jane was more annoyed at Rose's attitude than anything else, plus discovering that he was indeed alive (as the last time she saw him was in the Death Zone when 4 of him were brought together). She knew he'd had companions before and would have them again. Still didn't mean that she wasn't hurt that he hadn't come back, or in love with him.
THANK YOU
It's just that she's a colossal bitch here and this scene made such a strong impression on me that she became my least favorite companion of the modern era
jessica jones except, i don’t think anyone is saying they’re in the right here. just that there are reasons behind their behavior. no, they shouldn’t have lashed out at each other, but where’s the fun in a 100% good, perfect character who does no wrong? flaws lead to good storytelling. and they both undergo character development and resolve the issue by the end of the episode.
I thought the interplay between Sarah Jane and Rose was wonderful. They were the two best companions in my opinion.
So awesome. Feels like the TARDIS is looking right back at her.
exactly
It was.
She was. :)
She was, it was thinking "oh no, that stray cat has come back, thought I was done with her long ago."
I always thought the TARDIS looked so ominous in that scene.
Funny how I got to this video after watching the other video of Sarah Jane parting ways with the 4th Doctor. "Don't ever forget me" ....years later he never did as shown here.
Every doctor who fan was heartbroken when she passed
This was such a nice moment, seeing Sarah Jane again after all those years. Sarah Jane's line, "I got old," is very poignant now. At the time, we didn't know that Elisabeth only had five years of life left to her. And yet, she spent much of that time entertaining us in the Whoniverse. Rest in peace....
what an extraordinary woman
0:04 I love that look on her face after seeing the TARDIS.
Scott Price I KNOW, right?!
Scott Price And that panning shot just after to reveal the Doctor was just perfect.
She'd never expected to see it again. And there it was.
The only way they could do it, IMO.
That's probably the moment her mind got blown wide open I never watched classic Who but I don't care Sara-Jane is my favourite companion
The way Tennant say's "Weeeellll" at 0:57 is a mannerism of his 4th incarnation (Tom Baker's iconic doctor), which Tennant used a few times during his tenure as the 11th. That he used it here with Sarah (who traveled with the 3rd and 4th doctor(s)) was brilliant for those in the know . . . Great scene, excellent!
What I really love about this scene is that up until Sarah Jane turns around and sees 10, she must’ve been expecting the fourth Doctor to be there, just as he was last time they met. And although to us the audience that’s impossible in reality as Tom Baker is now an old man, within the logic of the show it’s totally possible. All the doctors are still young and travelling around the universe just as they were.
That's possible although if I remember correctly, Sarah Jane did meet the Fifth Doctor once. This was in The Five Doctors.
@@OptimusWombat that's true, it's also worth adding that we see the Doctor age, as we Old Tom Baker in the War Doctor episode and we see 11 age on Trenzalore. Pretty sure we see most of the old actors as their older selves when they show up for Whitaker too.

I'm sure why, it's a callback. It's lifted from the soundtrack from the 4th doctor era. They'd use that kind of music all the time back when Sarah Jane was travelling with the Doctor.
Sarah Jane had the most warmth and likeability of all the Doctor's companions. I still miss her.😔

1:35 she is so unbelievably nice but Rose's jealousy turned them into brief rivals.
Nice? First of all, she's being sarcastic
Second of all, it's Sarah Jane who first 'attacked' Rose with "maybe you haven't reached that yet, how old are you?"
Rose wasn't nice to Sarah since the moment they met. At 1:30, rudely just start with "Whos she", then the look at 1:37, and "I am not his assistant" hear her tone when she said the word "assistant ".
+Akabubi well for me "who's she?" is a normal valid question
and the assistant bit, Rose wasn't attacking Sarah, she was simply offended to be called a assistant.

Sarah Jane was THE companion. She was the greatest. It annoys me when New Who fans say that Rose was the best. It's a shame Liz died...
I watched Sarah janes adventures, before watching doctor who. When the series ended. I was sad. I was like i don't want to watch doctor who. It is going to be boring. When i watched the first episode i liked it and watched the whole series. R.I.P Elisabeth Sladen. I also watched the tv show wizards vs Aliens :)
Look, I love Liz too. People can like who they want though. My favourite NuWho companion is Rose and my favourite classic is probably Jo.
Absolutely RIP Elizabeth Sladen
To be fair they are young and haven't watched the older stuff. I personally think Donna was the best companion in new Who because it was like a team rather than a love interest,, it worked much better that duo than Martha and Rose, who were madly infatuated by him. Donna just wanted to travel with him and see the universe, a more mature and stable relationship. I think Rose was better in series 1 with Eccleston as well, they turned her into Doctor lite in series 2 and it was quite cringe-worthy.
I'm pretty sure NewWhu fans say Donna is the best.
Very spooky at the start when Sarah Jane beholds the Tardis after 35 or so years and realizes what that means. Touching when the Doctor realizes Sarah Jane has never given up her inquisitive attitude, sense of adventure, or desire to help people in need. In those respects they were closely matched.
Dang, Sarah Jane, if I were in your shoes, I'd have hugged the Doctor so hard, his respiratory bypass would have had to kick in. Then slapped him for not visiting for so long.
I started Dr. Who with David Tennant, and this is one of my favorites of his. I hadn't watched any of Elizabeth Sladen's earlier performances, but this episode did such a good job of showing why she was so important to the show's history. Glad this cameo helped get her a show and restablish her for new Who fans!
1:06 “I thought you died.” Just hearing that line of dialogue makes me think that Sarah Jane received a visit from the 8th Doctor shortly before the outbreak of the Time War. Really think about that now.
No, because in every serial the Doctor almost die.
Nice thought, I like that.

0:08 seems like the tardis is saying hello again sarah! Love the music too!
considering the TARDIS IS alive, you bet she is!!!
Amazing cast amazing direction amazing scripts . The pace slows to let the story telling breath . Such great times
I honestly love both characters, Rose and Sarah.
Times have changed since Liz's run, though, and the truth is that calling Rose Tyler an assistant is kinda demeaning. After all, once Rose was left behind, she managed to build a cannon to travel between dimensions, just to find the Doctor, and some may argue it was a selfish thing to do because she was doing exactly what he'd told her not to, but if she hadn't she would've never been able to save Donna Noble.
Rose was always persistent in everything, even when she had been foolish enough to run away with an idiot and then have a lack of A-levels, which had her end up working in a shop. What annoys people about her is that she just seems to never think things through, she just jumps in following her gut (which is why she became Bad Wolf, why she fought back Sarah Jane, why she came back to look for the Doctor).
She genuinely loves the Doctor, and he genuinely loves her.
Father's Day, season 1, the Doctor says he would love to have a life in which he could go home in a cab from a pub at 2 in the morning, like that couple did, but he can't -- it's a life he'll never have. And as the tenth doctor he also expresses some jealousy at the thought of not having that chance. And then he is given the chance (technically). His meta-crisis self, who thinks like him, who is basically him. He gets sent to the dimension where Rose Tyler is, and he offers her to grow old together. The Doctor refused to say 'I love you' because he knew that if he said it, Rose would never choose the other version of him (and HE at least couldn't keep her forever).
Not to mention that he didn't go to Martha Jones, or to Sarah. He went to Rose.
Sarah didn't call Rose his "assistant" to demean her; It's a running gag/reference to when he worked for UNIT (Like back when he and Sarah first met) and had some actual, paid "assistants" in his job as a researcher for UNIT (This being how he met Liz Shaw, and later, Jo, though he did do reular space-cruising with the latter once he stopped being stuck), and since then, everyone at UNIT just seems to have assumed that this is somehow the designated term for anyone he brings along, much to the continued annoyance of everyone involved; Sarah would've gone by that designation as well at the time, and she had her own fair share of saving his butt back in the day, every bit as much as Rose.
Can't expect Sarah to magically know all of Rose's past history, they just met at this point.
KendrixTermina Cryer24597 I'm sorry, actually, I should've replied to avoid the confusion.
Cryer24597, you're right, I hadn't watched the old Who, and it's only now that I get to see where the term 'assistant' comes from.
Thank you both for the clarification.
In my comment, all I was trying to do is defend Rose from the people that keep bringing her character down, as Rose was my first companion and she's kinda my favourite.
Now, I think we can all agree that this argument has become really daft, so let's just let it go.
0:40 Toby Whithouse had probably forgotten about her meeting Peter Davison in The Five Doctors - though from a technical chronological standpoint that took place before her last meeting with Tom Baker - but the incarnation of the War Doctor made it correct from multiple perspectives
I literally fanboyed when she returned, this scene always sends chills down my spine. The way she sees the Tardis and the pan around to the Doctor is brilliant. Miss her .
"The Mrs. and the ex" I always took Mickey for granted until this line :P

there would be blood and clara would win
kelly wilson whitehead
I could imagine that River warning Rose off
consider Rose would become extremely jealous that she was...well..replaced in the future.
A meeting between Rose and River would not have gone well.....primarily for Rose.
I'm 63 years old, as an American we started to get Dr Who shown in the early 70s with Jon Pertwee. I really became a fan when Tom Baker took over. I think I saw Jo Grant before she left but what I remember from that time was Tom Baker and the gorgeous Sarah Jane Smith, for seven seasons Baker was the quintessential Doctor and until Rose Tyler came around Sarah Jane was the best companion in my opinion. As far as intelligence and beauty goes the first Lady Romana played by Mary Tamm was in many ways the best companion ever. As a Time Lord herself she was as recent grad of the Academy and loved to point out the Doctors mistakes and never acted like a damsel in distress. The second Romana was a little more meeker which I believe was more to Bakers liking since he actually started dating her for a while. With so many great companions over the years when the show had it's reboot with Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper it was Sarah Jane Smith that was chosen to provide a connection to the classic Who era. The moment in the High School when Rose gets real jealous and Mickey makes a joke about the Mrs and the ex was hilarious. But before that when Sarah Jane talks about getting older it's one of the only times we hear from the companions side about the pain of being replaced for a newer model. Sarah Jane was so popular she even had her own show! Sadly she passed away in 2011 as the most loved companion of all time
Rest in Peace, Liz. I met her in 2002 and thought she was a wonderful girl. A very actress in her career, and a huge miss to this day.
When I saw Sarah Jane's first on camera appearance in this episode, walking down the stairs with Finch, I instantly recognized her and my jaw dropped. Still a gorgeous lady. a high school girlfriend from almost 40 years back just contacted me out of the blue and I had the same reaction as The Doctor had seeing Sarah Jane again. It was OUR School Reunion!
Beautifully performed, beautifully written, beautifully directed.
Seeing this part of the episode is very emotional. We miss you Sarah Jane Smith, you were such a fantastic companion.
Rose and Sarah-Jane's Hostility it brilliamt
Team Sarah
Best companion ever. The fandom lost a beautiful and kind lady when Liz passed away, wish i got the chance to meet her.
i cry every time i watch this episode; LOVED you Liz. Rest In Peace, wonderful lady!!
I grew up watching my brother's vhs tapes of Tom Baker's episodes. This scene had me in tears.
I cried when the beautiful Elizabeth Sladen died. I was so in love with Sarah Jane Smith .
When Sarah Jane runs into the TARDIS, it felt like the TARDIS was saying “oh! Hello! Been a while! Wanna come in?”
And she waaaaaalk awaaaaaay xD
This is one of those nice, happy moments for the doctor.
"the missus and the ex'. Mickey just called ten and rose an item! Even he ships it!
They actually were an item but the Doctor couldn't be with Rose because she would grow old and die while he lived on. That was why he left the clone Doctor with her in the alternate reality, so she would have a Doctor to grow old with.
I have not met one person who doesn't ship it lol
+ConservativeBrony97 Hello. I don't ship it. ;p
+Franky Forte Good. Mickey deserves better than Rose Tyler.
+Franky Forte Mickey is not a possessive or jelous guy I tought
1:20 I can’t believe it’s you (Micky screams) 😮😃ok now I can
One of the most EPIC scenes EVER in Dr Who history!!!
this is my favourite bit of doctor who ever. sarah-jane smith is so wonderful
This episode holds a special place in my heart as it was the first episode of Doctor Who that I ever watched
I get goosebumps every time I watch this. Every time she finds the TARDIS and that music plays, WOW! That scene hit me hard even before I decided to watch the classic series, and now, WOW!!!
2:48
Words of truth right there 😂
"You look incredible"
"So do you"
Little moment but shows how close they are as friends
Here I am again watching this. It just keeps popping up and I keep clicking on it.
When I first watched this story, not having seen any of the classic episodes, this meeting had little impact on me. I rewatched this after having seen most of the classic series, and now this scene is a lot more emotional. It shows how big of an impact the classic series has when watching the new one.
I have the same feeling. When I saw this originally, I wasn't aware of the whole history of the show, I only knew the ninth doctor onwards, but after watching Sarah Jane, especially her original departure, and then this, it really makes things emotional!
I wished he said boo when Sarah turned around...
...You again. YAY!
The 11th Doctor This was 2 years ago ;3
One of my favourite scenes: I really like the tenth doctor and well Sarah Jane as well! Amazing thanks for bringing this back!
Elisabeth Clara Heath Sladen (1 February 1946 - 19 April 2011), frequently and fondly called "Lis", was a widely beloved 😢♥
When mickey says "welcome to every man's worst nightmare." I burst out laughing every time I watch this scene.
Imagine Sarah Jane and Donna going down in a fight... I don't think the Doctor would ever, EVER want a companion again xD
Got all choked up when I saw this ... and especially later in the episode (no spoilers). Brought me rushing back to my teenage years when Tom Baker was Dr Who - he still is the best Dr Who ever for me. When life was simpler, when the stresses and strains of adulthood were still years away, when the world seemed friendlier, when my father was alive and well ... Darn it, someone must be cutting onions nearby ...
On behalf of countless other mid-50-somethings, I think I can safely say that we are with you my friend ❤
I loved how Tom's Doctor would introduce Sarah-Jane as his best friend!
This episode is a classic and literally gives me chills!!
