Sometimes edits are necessary! As a Pentaholic I just love seeing new reactors discovering this amazing group. I am not even ashamed to say that I have watched this video of theirs so many times that I could describe the video frame by frame, lol! Love what you are doing!!
"Pentatonix, you caught me off guard the last time, and the time before that..... I have NO idea what I'm getting into, but I think I'm ready for you this time."
I laughed so hard when he said Avi had competition because Matt was the first bass he experienced 😂😂😂 . Matt is so amazing and I absolutely love him but Avi is OG for real and is a sick bass. Hands down. Keep diving into PTX and you’ll see. But Matt did do a phenomenal job of coming in, stepping up to the challenge, and really bringing his own flavor. He meshes so well with them.
@@ohifonlyx33 Also the fact that the man can sing 2 notes at the same time. As good as Matt is, Avi brought something substantial to the group. An intangible that made them win Grammys. Noticed they haven't won one since he left.
I love how he says “I’ve never seen this guy before, he wasn’t in the last video so you better bring it you got some competition.” Vs. me knowing perfectly well that Avi is great and Matt is the one who has some shoes to fill.
As much as I appreciate Avi, Matt is phenomenal in his own ways. Don’t get me wrong, Avi is amazing, and I’ve followed him to his new avenues in music and he’s killing it, but Matt is also killing it
Every time he talks about Avi I think about meat and potatoes 😊 I kinda hope he goes back and watches one of their songs from the sing off like video killed the radio star or stuck like glue just to see his reaction to their beginnings.

I love how in reality Mitch can make that guitar sound without megaphone and everyone reacting to this song is like "It's great idea to use it" "He sounds more like guitar with it"... guys try to listen to one of the live versions and you'll see he doesn't really need megaphone XD
They don't realize that a is a prop and b he would have to be able to make that sound anyway for it to filter through that device even if he was using it that way! 😅
their live version of Aha in Singapore would blow your socks off. also, I don't think it's possible to listen to this song w/o singing along. thank you for the re upload.
“I didn’t know the human voice could get that low.” There’s actually a guy, Tim Storms, with a 10-octave vocal range-his voice can go so low that you no longer talk audible notes, you talk hertz. There’s a video somewhere with Avi meeting him before a performance, and Avi having stage fright, knowing Tim was in the audience. 🙂
Kazzellin Empanger You can just hear that at the first octave Tim starts losing that full bass sound, compare to JD Summer’s first octave and you’ll see what I mean.
100% all them, vocally; there IS some production edits in the final...voices coming from left to right, that sort of thing. If you saw them live, you would TRULY understand!
Yep, agree. They do add a BIT on these big produced numbers. But you see them live and kill it. No, KILL IT. There is a video out there of Mitch hitting a particular note in Aha, night after night, year after year, and each time its the same key, back vocals sound exactly the same. It could be sliced into one song and you would never know. That is the level of their perfection and production.
YES! I guess that's why they still amaze me with each thing they release, cause I KNOW they do it live! Saw them last year in Brazil, and I knew it would be awesome but it was much more, it was epic. Truly epic.
Pentatonix and the crew filmed this in one long night's work. They released a "behind the scenes" video with additional details about getting the couch to move and rehearsing with it. Yes, they do this song live. No post production required.
I saw their Christmas show this past December - same goes for me! I'm not ashamed to admit that I was even in tears a few times - especially when they did Hallelujah with all of them standing around one microphone. The thing that impressed me most about that (other than their beautiful voices, of course) was that there wasn't a sound from anyone in the audience...just complete silence. That may or may not be one of the times when I cried.

Edit: Their show in Singapore this year was my first ever concert in my life and I dont regret going for it at all. It was amazing and mind blowing to hear how good they sound live
If you really want to hear Avi go deep, check out their cover of Macklemore's "Can't Hold Us", their original song "Love Again", and/or their original song "Natural Disaster". The studio version of "Natural Disaster" is audio only, but there are several videos of phone recordings from concerts on UA-cam - in one of them (the one where Scott is wearing a red and black plaid shirt) there's a section where you can barely hear Scott singing because Avi's low notes cause so much distortion in the speakers.
Just pick almost any video from Pentatonix and you will be blown away. As I'm sure others have told you Scott, Mitch and Kirsten all went to high school together in Arlington, Texas. They formed the group to go on the sign off and they won. (It's really worth watching the videos from the show.) The thing that most impresses me is that they do all their own arranging and they do it on the fly. They don't write it down. They have a guy in LA who works with them and I think he helps do some of the arranging. By the way, their Christmas albums are epic. SOme of their newer vids are really strong. Come Along is fun and Shallow is really moving and features Kevin playing the cello. Rock On Man.

They performed this live at a series of 4th of July concerts in 2017 at the Hollywood Bowl. After the performance on the first night you can see Scott go ‘whew’ and wipe his brow. They had wanted to do this for several years. They had done a snippet of it in their Evolution of Music video several years earlier, but weren’t sure they could do the whole song and do it well. I’d say the wait was worth it.

I know it’s a little more ‘country rock’, but you should do “Man of Constant Sorrow” by Home Free. They are also an A Cappella group. when you hear it, remember that the harmonica sounds isn’t a harmonica! Hehehe

This is the third Pentatonix reaction video of yours I've watched, and not only have I subscribed (with bells on), but I bore with you through this whole video. Your reactions are so genuine and fun to watch! I've watched many a reaction video before, but yours is the first (and possibly only) where I would put up with frequent interruptions. Keep going, you're killing it! :D
Besides "The Making of PTX Bohemian Rhapsody" there's another video of this run in parallel with Queen's version, The synch is perfect. I'd love to see Brian May's reaction to this video. Also, did you catch Kirsten's leap onto the couch while wearing platforms? Talk about a potential ankle breaker!

I’ve watched this so many times now! Love how Jase starts off with “You better bring it, buddy! You got some competition!” when he sees Avi. *Avi starts singing and Jase instantly falls in love with him* :-D Much the same as I did when I first heard PTX
They do have behind the scenes of how they put this together, here is a link to it ua-cam.com/video/Q8ugJnIG_Lk/v-deo.html. This should answer some of your questions. Enjoying your trip down different paths of great a cappella groups.
Performed live, Mitch does the same electric guitar solo with a plain on microphone 🎤.. 😁 It sounds exactly the same. They sound just as good live, btw, and I look forward to that reaction you said you were going to do to their "Hallelujah" Live, Official Video! it's on their channel, and I don't think it has the same problem with being blocked like these other videos do. Blame the label!
Ohhhhh this is the first one with Avi he watched. 😈💗 the second he heard Avi’s vocals it was game over. I love the current set with the man who replaced Avi when he left but Avi will forever have this special place in my heart whenever I listen to PTX
VoicePlay Oogie Boogie Man. By the way, there are several channels out there that did side by side performance of Pentatonix and Queen doing this song. Their presentation and timing are spot on with Queen's original version.
Yup, Avi Caplan's BASS is one of the sickest smoothest basses around today. And Mitch's contra-tenor is definitely one of the cleanest I have ever heard. Kevin's beat box skills are always on point. The whole group is super talented.
You should react to AURORA she has a crazy good voice I recommend: Running with the wolves, The Seed, It happened quiet, Murder Song, The River All her songs are amazing though
Джейс к Ави: Тебе придётся постараться, у тебя сильный соперник! Ави: *смеётся по авриэлькаплановски* Great reaction, buddy! It was cool to see your emotions during the song, thank you so much for what you're doing!
I think some of the highest praise was that the great Brian May tweeted out a link to their video. I also love that they paid an homage to him with the shooting stars, since he's an astrophysicist, and the 4 shooting stars for the 4 members of Queen, who are rightfully stars that so many look up to as inspiration.

I requested it too!
I just discovered your channel and I love you. Started head banging with you and ALL 😂 much love
Check out “Amazing Grace” by Peter Hollens ft Home Free.
Yesss #hollensfamily!!!
Peter Hollens in General
Omg! More, more PTX!!! All you want!!!!
VoicePlay Oogie Boogie Man. By the way, there are several channels out there that did side by side performance of Pentatonix and Queen doing this song. Their presentation and timing are spot on with Queen's original version.
That video is GREAT. Geoff Castellucci is amazing!
Instant fan of your reaction videos because you also love Pentatonix 🥰 Love from Philippines ❤
Wait what why was it blocked? Everyone else’s reactions are still up without pauses/ blur?
He doesn't have sufficient back-time, so UA-cam was abusing him.
What does back time mean?
@@ameliacorazon4015 the very basic explanation is he's new to youtubing so youtube picks on him
@@vixenvicky3842 yeah, basically he hasn't made u tube enough money yet 😡
love ptx and your channel.hugs from Norway.
Post Modern Jukebox - Creep. No regrets.
Fact
Post Modern Jukebox in general is no regrets!!!
I put this request on another video...didn’t do my homework to see that someone already suggested it. Good stuff! Rock on!
Try to react to home free, maybe their cover of ring of fire 😍
Love your reaction! And no, nothing is wrong. Avi is just THAT GOOD!!
If he thought that Avi was deep, he should listen to Tim Foust
Mary, did you know? is one of their best.
I second this. One of my faves of theirs!!!
You should do a reaction to Home Free’s cover of Man of Constant Sorrow!
Yup, Avi Caplan's BASS is one of the sickest smoothest basses around today. And Mitch's contra-tenor is definitely one of the cleanest I have ever heard. Kevin's beat box skills are always on point. The whole group is super talented.
Please react to Oogie boogie man by VoicePlay!! If you love basses then you’ll absolutely love that one! Their bass is incredible
Your genuine reaction makes this so fun to watch 😂😂❤️
You should react to AURORA she has a crazy good voice
I recommend: Running with the wolves, The Seed, It happened quiet, Murder Song, The River
All her songs are amazing though
Yeah I love her
Incredible group.
"No way that isonly from human voices" To be fair, I don't think some of them are human
Mitch is not human. He is a beautiful 🦋
I absolutely love how they recreated the original video. ❤️
I cant help but to smile. I love watching g people react to PTX. you can tell you love music.
Джейс к Ави: Тебе придётся постараться, у тебя сильный соперник!
Ави: *смеётся по авриэлькаплановски*
Great reaction, buddy!
I didn’t realize how much I would love seeing someone experiencing PTX. 💗 this is great!
