You think it would be a problem to sharpen it? Btw do you know what adhesive they use on the cell? I'm about to do mine and want to seal it back up properly
Hey man, I'm also an amateur trying to fix PS3s (and other consoles and computers) and for the love of dog: do not ever, ever again, use a knife to cut through the silicon glue on the PS3 CPU. Ideal way is to make a blade out of an aluminium beer/soda can, and use that as a knife to cut through the silicone. Since it's very thin, it cuts like a knife, but being aluminium, it tears, it deteriorates quite easily, so there is no risk of you scratching the surface of the CPU. Never use a knife. I might as well do a video teaching how to do it. Follow me for more info, or feel free to send me an email
That's a very interesting idea! I am planing to try the fingernail filer that people keep talking about these days. But your aluminium can idea seems promising too. Will also try it someday in the future.
@@fujitsubo3323 I set the temperature to 200C and heat it for about a minute or so. Every 5-10mm distance that you cut through, you might need to heat it up again. When you feel like the knife can't move at all, that means the glue has cooled down and hardened. I didn't bend the tip.

Y después con que lo pegan?
I'm not a fan of this. Heat and 0.06mm cutting wire is safer. Applying lever pressure under the lid is just asking for trouble. But to each their own.
