  • @Jimmy-sb3fc

I used to do this for a living. In my shop, we had a hot tank with water and lye. Soak everything overnight, wash it off with a hose, and everything is clean as a whistle, and it saves a TON of time. No grease, paint, or anything... Just clean metal.
Not to be too critical, but the most important part of a rebuild is rings / cylinder hone, and a full head overhaul- There's a lot of carbon in there, the valve disks need to be changed, the seats resurfaced, and new copper gaskets. One more thing: The pump you have is a clone of a Saylor Beal model 905.

When ya'll see rust come out with draining the water, one does not know for sure if the tank will stay together at 150 psi. Some failsafe needs applied to compressor tanks. Like temps on turkeys that pop out when cooked enough. Some tank stretched wire around it or something to let the owner know his tank might blow up.

these machines are too old and lost all the manufacturer's labels. If you intend to use air compressors, I recommend you to look for toshiba and hitachi brands, which are Japanese-made machines. The machine is stable. and enduring

The video should be called "Disassembly, painting and oil change of a compressor with a burnt motor". And everywhere this green paint... Clumsy, sloppy, amateurish.

Why did the tank not even get inspected or hydrostatic test.... Who cares if the motor is _new as is the compressor_ but if it blows up and spits shrapnel everywhere, I'd call that a fail.
