It's amazing what a pair of talented hands can do. When you at first thought the compressor had no hope, there was an actual solution to restore it to brand new condition. Great job here!!

Anyone else notice that he did not mask off the mating surfaces and primed and painted parts of the metal that should never have paint on them. They need caskets next to bare metal to ensure there are no future leaks? As soon as the paint job cracks or flakes on those surfaces he will end up with a leak.

Amazing job completely rewinding that stator!! Fabulous job saving that old compressor. That will make a great tool for someone's shop for many years to come. That is a big motor and it looks like a million bucks now. Great job. Enjoyed watching this video.

Shows what you know. He pushed the new windings in
with a metal tool. Perfect way to take years off the motor.
Worse than that Very Old tank got nothing more than a
coat of paint. I wouldn't want damned boomer in my shop.

The air tank is a UXB . Those hammered on motor bearings sound terrible because they are wrecked . The motor was star /delta when taken apart but was not after the rewind . That welded up wheel will not last 5 minutes either. Short cuts everywhere. A really good example of how not to do it .

Unless I missed the inside of the tank wasn't shown the condition it's in. Tanks that are not in great shape on the inside tend to explode. Other wise good job.

Your compressor is a Dangerous relic.
Either get the tank professionally pressure
tested (I doubt it will pass) or cut the cord
and just put it on display (or get a new tank).
You Do Not want to be around, when that tank blows.

While this was finished quite nicely .... I have questions. 1) Why didn't they sandblast most all of the exterior surfaces, resulting in a smoother finish? 2) why on earth did they paint the rotor of the electric motor? They took that much trouble to rewind the stator... won't that cause a fire, or at least a premature failure of the rotor??? Good grief!

    • @RestorationGeniusVN
      @RestorationGeniusVN  Місяць тому +1

Hello dear friend. Thank you for watching the video and leaving this comment. Because the sandblasting machine is expensive, the cost will be high. By the way, I wish you happiness and health.

Yeah, but did you notice he pushed the new windings
in with a metal tool? That is how you take Years off of
a new motor. Also, they did Nothing to the Very old
tank but put a coat of paint on it. Warning: Don't buy
      used compressors.

Its actually very dangerous to restore a air compressor you know nothing about the tank and most of those parts are worn out and you should of got the tank tested before putting back together cuz its a ticking time bomb cuz it could be rusted out inside the tank good luck with that
