excellent insight, been following your m2 vids lately and you got yourself a new sub... as a former g80 xdrive owner (which I loved) with a g87 6 speed coming in less than a month, I'm glad to hear the case for the m2. definitely will be doing a bootmode or jb4 on it. would be interesting to see a vid with your perspective on the different tunes available if you have experience with them. keep pumping out the good content!

Awesome Video, I have a LCI G80 M3 XDrive, love it for the pure fact that you can switch between 2wd and Awd, think the M2 would be a game changer for me if it came in Xdrive. So for now, with 2 little ones I'll stick with the M3, maybe save up and get a M2CS and have the best of both worlds🤘🏻

Great breakdown, appreciate your thoughts on M2 vs M3 since you have both in the garage. I had an M3 xDrive previously which I sold but loved it. Big reason for selling it is I now have an M2 (manual,and same color as you) in production and like you say they're are pretty similar but it's hard to justify keeping the bigger, less fun, and way more expensive one even though it is a great car overall. As you say the base prices are close to 20k and the difference between my specs was closer to 30k which is crazy

I concur. I got rid of my g82 comp for a manual g87. Unlocked the dme and never looked back.

Great video! This is exactly where I'm currently at as far as which one to choose. You hit all the pros and cons right on. Have you seen any M2 front end mods, kidney grills, splitter etc?

I’ve seen a few different options as for as front end mods go for the M2. I’m working with a company now on some carbon bits.

Yes I will be adding them. In September i'll be driving down to California to go to Bimmer Invasion. My M2 will be at a companies booth to unveil their new carbon stuff for the M2
I picked the g87. Because I couldn't afford the g80 lol. Love it though. Zandvoort blue 6MT. Paying $1250 a month for the g87. The g80 was like $1750
Fortunately I bought the G80 when rates were lower so I’m at around $1450

Always wanted your input from having both. But that is wild though to sell the M3 but it makes sense. Not too mention you'll make out ahead on it financial wise. The M4 was my dream car until the M2 came out. I plan to spec it with ALL options. 77K. I could get a used M4 but man, I think I would choose the M2 every time IDK why

Really appreciate the comparison from an owner's perspective. I also could not justify the extra 20K for the M3 and just picked up the M2. What company did you go with for the downpipe and tune? Only had the car a week and the first thins I ordered was oil cooler and front heat exchanger protection. Went with Zunsport. Haven't got them yet but will let you know how they work out. M2 is indeed amazing. I’ve grown to love it…as long as I don’t look at the rear
Yo Tommy! I think for me it depends on which angle of the rear I look at. Looking from the side it just looks cut off but the added spoiler definitely helps it a bit.
There are some sligth differences in steering and shifting between M2 and M3CX. In my opinion M3 is just better car overall in terms of space, flexibility of driving parameters, interior quality and exterior look. As a daily I would never pick M2, as a 2nd car in garage it’s okey but there are other options on a table for that purpose at this price tag. For daily driving and a fun car at the same time take M3. You won’t regret 😁
Great job on your journey, I also have a G87 and I'm curious if you know how to turn off the lane assist permanently? I have to turn it off every time I start the vehicle, and I have not found any way to keep it off, it's the one thing driving my nuts about the car. Also do 6:01 6:01 6:01 6:01 6:01 you have any thoughts on titan7s fitment offerings for the G87?
That might just be something you can code out with BimmerCode. I know they are working on releasing it for the g87

a better price comparison between the two chassis would be m2 manual and m3/4 manual. My current combo is a g80 manual and tesla 3P. Tesla going soon, i never look forward to driving it and the savings isn't worth it. I think m3 xdrive to replace the tesla

Im considering the m3. But what lures me away from the m2 is my height I’m 6’4. Do you I can fit comfortably in the driver seat? Honestly I’m just gonna have the car in weekends and take it to the canyons maybe once a year to the track.
You’ll be fine, if you need the extra head space, spec it with the carbon roof that should give you a little more room there

The M3 G80 its a better car , in my opinion , the M2 got soft , light steering , heavy car ( same as m3 ) , less space , and worst looks ( in my opinion ) . Ok the M2 in real life its better than in photos , however..... a M3 is a more capable car , the only downside of the M3 , its more expensive to buy than the M2 , now the M2 has the fact of being a new , and all the hype it s on the m2 , like it was on the supra mk5 when release , or the GR Yaris. If u want a more pratic car , buy a M3 , if u want a sportscar , buy a Porsche cayman or a previous M2 Comp . I have a G80comp , and had a e92 , 1m , f80 m3 , and drove the m2 , 2 weeks ago, total dissapointing , and i am a bmw fan.

Main thing no space for rear seat passengers and if that didn’t matter there would be the Porsche Cayman to consider. Personally not interested in modding I would rather get the car I wanted from the factory.

M340i is a better deal over the M3 comp , saves money, handles better, drives really good and the modification on the M340i goes very well. And M2 comp is a great pick over the both if u want a 2 door

The lower intakes on the M2, just look awful...AWFUL. The rear looks amazing!
M2 is very lumpy and ugly compared to the nicely look M3.
