I have Cavalier #2. Our beloved Cav was put to sleep in Nov and we had another by end of January. She is five years old, and disposition is exactly the same. They truly have never met a stranger. She was part of our family within hours, They are an amazingly lovable breed.
I'm bringing home a cavalier pup next month, I've been watching all of your videos! I love them and this one has been especially helpful. Love your channel!
It's nice to see someone grooming their dogs so well. I have seen many long haired dogs with huge mats in them they go to a groomers hoping they can save the hair and the groomer has to shave all the hair off. I wish more people groomed their dogs properly, they feel so much better for it.
Hi hun, I've been a proud owner of a Blenheim, called Jessie, nearly 12 weeks old, for 2 weeks today ( she's the double of ur Milton as a pup) I have always had dogs all my life, my boy had to be put to sleep 4 years ago, ( he was a 13 year old alsatian mix) and cause my partner had, had cavas in the past, if was a family decision to get another dog, so we got Jessie, I must say, so far I think she sheds more than my previous boy, I will be doing most of her grooming care ect at home, but she will still be going for a pamper at the groom room, I have been binge watching ur vids, people need to see beyond the amazingly beautiful faces and know, there can be so many health probs, we have had to take out, pet insurance, a pet vet plan, and people need to realise, they cost a lot, they need constant groom care ( tears, ears, grooming) they can be very needy and clingy, BUT if ur not willing to give her ur all, don't get a dog, I have been learning alot from u, ( and I will be buying the furmanator brush) were currently at the potty training, chewing, stage, so much fun ( lol not) but she will get all the best care and so much love, thank u for ur videos, sending hugs, Zoe, Manchester UK xxx
Aww they are so sweet. I'm not usually a fan of small dogs but these two are the cutest. I have a Labrador who weighs around 80 pounds (35kg) and is the sweetest boy ever. I use a furminator and a rubbed brush as well as a soft brush. His coat is so soft !
Fantastic thorough grooming! My blenhem, Preston, has a little mucus in his eyes every morning, so I always take a tissue and clear them out - a "pet" peeve of mine! I use baby shampoo under his eyes to clean them so it won't burn his little eyes. I also routinely wipe around his lips to keep them clean after he eats his dinner. There are little crevasses around his mouth that tend to trap food particles (again, baby shampoo). There is a solution that you can buy from your vet to drop into his ears to keep the PH at the right level - this is particularly important after he gets his baths because water ultimately will creep into his ear canals no matter how hard you try to prevent it from happening. Brushing their teeth should start earlier rather than later to get them accustomed to the routine and the feel of it. I find it much easier to lie him down on a high table or counter to do this. I also brush his tongue at the same time in the brushing process. In between brushings, I incorporate a dash of tartar control liquid into his water bowl every day - Nylabone makes a good one, and Preston loves the flavor! The fishnet stocking recommendation for use in trimming their toenails is a stellar idea! Of course, I file them smooth afterwards. Well, that's it for me. If I think of anything else, I'll check back in! Thanks again for this wonderful video. ALL cavaliers should have nothing less than the royal treatment - after all, they ARE royal!!!
I'm obsessed with your videos! Never stop please!! I have a 3/4 cavalier 1/3 Bichon so cavachon but I Just identify him as s cavalier .I wish he could meet herky and Milton!
My sister brought home her baby Cavi about 4 weeks ago...some trials and tribulations with housebreaking, even tho she takes Molly outside frequently/ and whenever she 'signals' interest going outside. I'm watching because I would like to give my sister useful and proven items for Christmas, etc. Helpful to know the eye secretions lessen as the doggie grows. Such good information! Thank you very much. Greetings from SoCal ❤️
So impressed that Herky and Milton let you clean their teeth. I’ve been trying with my 2 cats since they were kittens, but they really don’t like the fele of it even with the yummy toothpaste. Did not expect cooperation of a dog, but at least some. LOL I still do it though, vet gives me a thumbs up. As for the other stuff, i do the claws and clean the ears and eyes, although on a cat some of that is done differently. That they cooperate for pretty much. Treats after always help. I also make sure all treats are healthy, they just don’t know that. Greenies ass’t treats are my favourites. I always get teeth, skin and coat, and hairball ones. Those have proven quite popular. 😻
Having watched your videos when I was still pining for my cavalier I knew from earlier you keep their ears clean and that they have issues with them. I got my Cooper at one week before he turned 6 months and he came with some nasty ears, I got online and ordered both Burt's Bees' ear produces, to no avail, my poor guy was scratching his ears raw, a neighbor is a pro groomer supplier, advised Zymox, OMG this stuff is awesome! She told me to use two times each ear first couple days, then once for the next 8 days, that was months ago and every now and then I'll do a wipe with the Burt's and comes off clean. ;'))
Thank you so much for all these helpful vids they really helped me get ready for my cavalier you guys are the best and just want to help people thank you so much and we appreciate you guys so much!!! 😊 thank you 😊
One of my girls has a curly coat, the other has a silky coat like Herky and Milton (the boy’s somewhere in the middle and best described as “fluffy”). The silky coat is much easier to look after. Mimi’s cutler coat is this and seems to hold onto the shed hair and make it harder to brush thoroughly
One thing that keeps my puppy's fur silky soft is that I use a conditioner on her after I shampoo her during bath time! It works best when I let it sit in her fur for a few minutes before washing it out
My first and only brand I've tried is Procão oatmeal conditioner (got it on Amazon). But I've thought about trying something with lavender in it since I've heard lavender repels fleas and ticks!
I’m looking into getting the same dog as you!! I watched a ton of your videos and I think these dogs are the best for me. Does brushing them hurt them? Sorry I’m new to this. Love your channel!!
You shouldn't be using a furminator! They have a blade & literally cut the guard hairs. A normal deshedding rake will do the job just as well without damaging the fur!! The brushes you actually need, is a deshedding rake, slicker brush, & bristle brush. In reality the slicker is the only one you REALLY need. But the others work as well.
Thank you so very much for the MOST HELPFUL video I have seen on Cavaliers! Our Dolly is 1 1 1/2 years & she is sweet just like your two babies! We just had a vet tell us that she needs surgery for her patellas. She shows no symptoms but now we are questioning if we should have bought from a breeder who checks everything yearly that can be inherited in Cavys. Did you get yours from that type of breeder? It would be really helpful to know due to we want to get another one. Thanks again as you are such a huge help to us Cavy owners!
Your Cavs are really sweet! Thanks for the great product info. However, I would strongly discourage at home claw clipping. It's very dangerous to do if you aren't a professional. I would suggest a nail file and buffer instead if you cannot schedule with a clipping with a groomer. Groomers now offer an electric file option as well. Also, if you are going to use apple cider anywhere, please please dilute it first! It is very strong and can burn the babies. I love my black and tan Cav, Vivienne, and I use organic lightly scented baby wipes to clean her tears and eye goop daily. :)
I would have to pick those burrs out between Baileys toes. He would stop walking lift the leg that the paw as had burrs and I had to get them out. OMG. I was stuck with them.
I once had a cocker spaniel (or should I say, he once had me) and he hated being brushed. Is this common with the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel too? Part of it was that he had ear infections and his ears would hurt if you brushed them. That's also something I'd like to avoid if I got one. My cocker went deaf because of the ear infections. I don't want to put a dog through that.
Herky The Cavalier I truly mean it & wish you all the best with your channel. Your just a Cavalier Mom who I imagine stumbled into UA-cam glory. That’s absolutely fantastic 😁. I heard you say Milton was in heat. Are you planning on breeding her? What about Herky? If you do breed them I hope you document everything. And I mean everything. I know it’s weird but the mating of dogs is such an incredible thing to see & so many things I didn’t know about until I started following a Yorkie breeder.
You will not regreat buying a CAVALIER KING CHARLES SPANIEL, they are a very loving, caring, adorable natured breed, just so beautiful. I always had larger dogs, which I loved & still do & they were always were very loving & protective of my family & the children children in our cul de sac. wonderful dogs. But when my last one passed away, I couldn't put myself to get another one, I went about 10 yrs without a dog & my partner decided we should get a dog he didn't won' a big & we both loved this breed so ultimately we had.9.5 wonderful years with her then two years.later I decided to get another one again she was such an adorable loving sweetheart, who hadn't been sick, then 2 days before Valentine's Day 2018 she was having a drive with me when she couldn't breathe properly, I got her to the VET straight away they rushed her in an put an oxygen tank to help her, unforntunately I got a call from the Vet on Valentines day asking me where I was I knew why she had rung so I got my daughter,. grandson & we went to hold, cuddle & say our forwells To my sweet darling, I held her in my arms on my chest when the VET gave her an injection & within seconds my darling had passed away & didn't have to suffer awain, she had a disease called Larengel Paralysis. I asked my VET if she knew of a good breeder so when the time came I was ready for another one I could ring to see if she had sny or when she might be expecting a litter. So 9 months later I rang the breeder & she said their should be a litter in a couple of weeks & she would let me know if their was a female, so Got a call on 12th November 2018 yes she had a girl but she would be a Tri -Colour, so I agreed & 12th January 2019 after many photos of her , she is a sweetheart, full of energy, & who wants to be with you all the time, even in the shower, but doesn't like to have a bath in the tub. I am sure.you will have a WONDERFUL time with your darling Cavalier . Keep us informed as to weather you get one & what colour etc.
I have two Burmese cats am in the process of introducing them, and it’s going well but I’m taking it very slow. Have your cavaliers had any experience with cats, and do you have any advice. Lover your Chanel 🇦🇺sending my support from Australia💕🐶
Tear stains are more from the climate. Just wipe their eyes every morning with a cotton non flaking wipe with water every morning. They won't have issues there!
Hi Mai! Love seeing ur videos on herky and Milton! Our lily is a Blenheim and is 4 yo just like herky. We are thinking of adding a sister for her. How was that transition for u and herky? Also how do u not let the dogs sleep with u on the bed? Omg, lily sleeps with us and just the thought of two cavaliers scare me!! Please help! Thanks!
I’ve grown up with different kinds of Spaniels, and my Cav Tanner is 3 now. And all of them get dry/ itchy skin around this time of year where they shed their coats before winter. Do you have any tips or products that you use?

Oh that puppy will be so loved!
I’ve had two they are so kind and gentle and sweet
Jourdy how's your cavalier doing right now?
@@kurniatjahaya4722 He is great. The best dog in the entire world.
@@jourdy4735 So happy to hear that ❤️😁
It's nice to see someone grooming their dogs so well. I have seen many long haired dogs with huge mats in them they go to a groomers hoping they can save the hair and the groomer has to shave all the hair off. I wish more people groomed their dogs properly, they feel so much better for it.
All about preventing that shave!
Herky The Cavalier they do look super cute shaved though!

Yay to soft coats!
They are so clever and well-behaved! And cute! 😍
These videos are so helpful. I'm getting mine next week 🥰
I love the bubble comments of Herky and Milton.
I have an english cocker, these tips work perfectly well with him too! 💕💕💕💕💕 Thank you!
This very helpful! I'm hopefully getting a King Charles Caviler and this helps me know about their temperament and how to groom them! Thanks so much!
Ok the fishnet trick is absolutely brilliant. I will try that with my girl!
I'm amazeded at how well you seem to take care of your dogs! They're absolutely beautiful
We love them very much and just want them to have a wonderful life :)
All I have to say is awww
Omg the fishnet stocking idea 💡 can’t wait to try it !
It's amazing! I'm sure it'll help you :)
I love you and your babies. You really brush their teeth. Oh my! Thank you!
Just beautiful,.... I wanted to reach to the screen and hug them.... AND YOU for doing such a great job !

Aww thanks for being part of our UA-cam family
We have 14 weeks cavoodle and watching your video helps us in grooming ours. You explain well about grooming your dogs. Thanks for sharing.
A caboodle is a mixed breed mutt. Coat is very different than a purebred Cav. Two completely different hair coats.
Fishnet tip- amazing! I will remember when I get my cav😁

Tell her to purchase a book entitled “The Evans Guide for Housetraining Your Dog” by Job Michael Evans. Will totally help with house training.

I have been thinking about getting a dog like yours! So cute and loving
I plan to adopt a vacalier in the fall. I'm basically watching every single one of your videos to welcome this puppy. I can't wait!
Spenskye all these ppl with cavaliers and im over here with a phyco aussie😂I love my aussie tho
You're right to. love your dog. The most important part is the connection with the dog. Choosing the race is just a bonus.
YAY!!
What is a vacalier?
@Moonxoxo but not when mixed with poodles.
Loved your videos. We have a Cavapoochon pup and this is very useful. Thank You
Wow that was extremely useful!!! Glad I found it
thank u so much for all the info!!
Love those adorable doggies.lots of good info thank you.

I heard you can use conditioner to help with that! :)
This is a good source for care!
My Wife are looking currently at king charles cavalier there temperament is about same as, a Malit-poo we had for about 14 years.
Excellent video! Thank you! ❤️
Contact lens solution worked really well for my mini australian shepherd puppy's tear stains!
sometimes I ran out of an ear cleanser and I needed some I used camomile tea which is natural and helps a lot
Thank you so much for doing this vid because I’m getting one next week it says if you don’t groom them they can shed a lot so thank you so much ❤️❤️
i never knew you had to take care of their ears... my dogs 6 years old and she still hasn't had an ear effection.
You are lucky! I clean my toy poodle's ear everyday or ever other day because I realized that if I don't do it often it starts smelling bad.
Im planning on getting a king Charles cavalier. I need a puppy prep video
I love them!
Brush them out everyday! Wash them every other week with good grooming products. Keep their ears clean. They hold narrow ear canals.
The thought bubbles absolutely kill me
We do it for the ones that love it like you!
Hello beauties! The fishnet stocking is a really great idea! 😘😘😍😘👍
Hi Silvia! That tip works wonders :)
Hoping to get my puppy next month . Your videos are so informative. I hope I can get good products in the UK🤔😊
The brushing tips are great. The idea of using a human hairbrush is great, i will buy a good hairbrush for my Cavalier boy Alfie. 😁
Your Alfie will LOVE that brush. The girls could sit forever while I brush them with that hairbrush :)
One thing that keeps my puppy's fur silky soft is that I use a conditioner on her after I shampoo her during bath time! It works best when I let it sit in her fur for a few minutes before washing it out
Oh what a great tip! What brand do you like?
My first and only brand I've tried is Procão oatmeal conditioner (got it on Amazon). But I've thought about trying something with lavender in it since I've heard lavender repels fleas and ticks!
Help my 12 week old puppy will not let me brush her! Thank you for your wonderful advise, your girls are beautiful.
Very good tips
😘😘😘
I might get a cavalier pup next week soooo, PRAY FOR MEEEE PLZZZ!
Edit: Never mind:( I got a Mini Poodles!!!!!!!;)
YN YLN how is the first year?
I’m looking into getting the same dog as you!! I watched a ton of your videos and I think these dogs are the best for me. Does brushing them hurt them? Sorry I’m new to this. Love your channel!!
Brilliant!
Great video, good job 👍 👏 !! 😉😃
I'm getting one in September
Ugh I love your videos!!when I adopt my dog, this will be usefull

Make sure to also brush under their feet if you like their pads long and fluffy seen so many dogs with matted pads 😢

Awwwwww i Love dogs LY 😍😍😍😘😘💖💖💖☺☺☺
My nana’s pug cross Chihuahua sheds more than my really fluffy border collie!!!
How do you make them so calm during grooming? I can barely keep mine from eating the brush. Also he hates the ear drop. I love your video!
c m i just think they are used to it :) make sure you have treats and positively reinforce the good behaviour!

If you brush properly. You won't get knots in the coat.
