This has been my dream dog ever since I saw “Lady and the Tramp” but I forgot about them until I mentioned to my boyfriend I wanted a dog.

I have two King Charles cavalier puppies. Benny is Blenheim and Zoey is tri-color. They are a day apart and super sweet pups. I love them. They do have different personalities and it’s funny. I always wanted this breed of dog since Lady and the tramp. Didn’t expect to get two. Zoey is mine and Benny is my mom.
So cute! Yes when I saw lady and the tramp when I was little I knew right then and there I had to get one. My mother is a huge fan of working dog breeds so I had to wait till I was grown up haha.

You mention books you read what are they? Also is it necessary to have them in a play yard if your yard is fence in. Where did you get your gates for in the house
I book I always refer to is "Little Dogs: Training Your Pint-Sized Companion" by Deborah Wood. I got my gates from Chewy and I kept in in a playpen if I can't supervise them.
you're so lucky. I have dreamed of a dog since I was 5 years old and my family would like to get one. my mom and I really like the cavalier King Charles spaniel but my dad and brother don't . dogs cost a lot (vaccinations, vet)

Does Slater shed a lot? I’ve heard mixed things about their shedding.
They do shed ALOT haha but it’s worth it!
I’ve had cavaliers for 20 years and compared to other dogs they are nit heavy shedders. They do shed but NOTHING like labs or goldens. Also, for some reason the color of cavalier makes a difference. The “whole colors” which are the ruby and the Black and Tan seem to shed less to me and the Blenheim and tri seem to shed a little more. I will also say that the Black and Tan in my experience has a lot more hair and the texture isn’t quite as silky and therefore they seem to matt more than the broken colors

I am considering getting a cavalier. Covid left me physically disabled with very weak extremities. I had a tri color bit bull that I rescued. He was a gentle giant and gave me a new perspective on his breed. There are viscious versions by nature but mine was pure love with not a single mean bone in his body. Post covid,he was my emotional support and while I could no longer walk him, we did our best to accommodate each other. He died October 12th 2021. I miss him so much as do my caregivers and friends. His breed was MUCH easier to bathe and minimal grooming than a Cavalier. Having owned 2 cocker spaniels, he was a welcome relief from the rigorous requirements of a cocker spaniel as the hair was a nightmare. When bathing ,I could fill a plastic shopping bag with his fur!! The tangles were a nightmare as well. He didn't like the drier at all but we would eventually tire of resisting and go with the flow🤪. He was a larger American cocker, almost my pit bulls size. What a relief it was with the pitty!! Just wash,condition rinse and dry. Pits have a unique body odor that drove me nuts. I saw on a Google search that pit owners ( not just me) had the same problem and they nailed the smell....FRITOES!!! It most certainly smelled like when you open a new bag of Fritos corn chips. The smell would permeate his bed clothes, fur, and carpets etc. Hence the frequent bathing. Usually it took a half hour start to finish. Post covid I had to have him professionally groomed. I will likely have to do this with a Cav. I can most likely be able to do the combing but not bathing. I really need to have a companion for my emotional support. This breed is so darn adorable and easy to train I'm told. He will be loved for certain!!
Whew , a lot of writing here, but lastly I'm curious about blueberries and the eye stains. Do you feed the dog the berries for control over whatever causes the problem? Or do you physically rub a crushed berry on the affected area? Please explain. Loved your video and you are a great owner!! What does boo gshee mean??

Cavalier King Charles spaniels can cost anywhere between 1,500 - 4,500 that’s because they need a lot of testing and health checks done. unfortunately the breed is riddled with health issues.

Never had a dog before and want one, so i ask "stupid" questions. What is the temperature of the water u bathing your dog? How hot is your dryer when u use it. Is like gentle warm or is it like just cold? When i get a dog, i want this prosedure to be a pleasure for my dog, not a torture treatment of my dog
I used lightly warm water on a low pressure and try not to shoot the water on their face, and inside the ears. Also make sure the air temperature is not to hot or cold. The dryer I constantly alternate between warm and cool on a low setting. It's a lot but worth it :)
I have to say, it was clear to me that he was plotting how to jump into the nearest mud puddle as soon as his grooming was completed. Whether he succeeded or not, that's a different story. :-)
