You know there's not very many people like you around anymore that's willing to spend the time to fix something like this car, they are all about the quick buck but sometimes you just gotta dig in and get it done and before you know it you will be done and save a classic car because it is still a cool car whether it came v6 or v8 and it will take rowdy v8 with the best of them. But lots of ppl would have just thrown in the towel at this point and crushed it not thinking about the fact that they don't make them anymore, don't feel bad I've dumped lots of money on a pinto. I'm glad you are saving this car at all costs and one day you will have a really badass ol hotrod that will embarrass some of this heavy new stuff
❤ well thanks for your comment... I agree, the old cars are basically at our mercy to find and fix instead of the scrap yard or crusher... I don't have the heart even though financially I maybe making a mistake at this point.. 🤔 but oh well. 🤷 Thanks for watching!!
The issues are many with the A body rust in the cowl one the rubber seal for the windsheild must be sealed right with liquid butyl...two the trim screws can leak over time right into the lower cowl...then you have the wiper pivots the seals on those become old and leak...then debris in the cowl like leaves, pine needles can hold all the moisture and rust gets out of control... The early A body had clean out oval holes in the front of the upper cowl panel later ones mopar stopped putting them in but the holes let you clean out the cowl so water would not sit there from clogged side vent holes all these mods have been done on my 72 dart just to avoid the issues in the future.... Eliminating the trim screws and adding welded on studs to hold the trim clips solves the leak problem.... Reversing the screws on the dash frame panel also lets you remove it with out having to remove the windsheild if you have to work behind it.... This is also an issue in early b body cars 70 and down.. a worthwhile mod for future serviceability to rear dash componets ...doing it right the first time makes for a much better restored car.... When I get my 71 charger up on the rotisserie I will go over these issues in more detail in a video...your doing a great job on the a body just keep walking away you'll get it done and done right.... Or even better than original.
😊 appreciate your tips!! Sounds like you are quite familiar with the rust issues on many mopars... this particular car I'm working on is among the worst I've ever dragged home but I feel once it's in my care I'm responsible for its well being so ill keep on it... thanks sir! 😊

If I took a shot for the word rust , I would be drunk 🍹 for 2 days 😂,,, good luck !
Always safty first the window is a part of the frame I would weld some metal in to strengthen it up just in case then seal it up
