I just thought I should find your video and watch it again and am so happy to see you have a new one. I have been wanting to start playing again and I have the distress ink refills. Someone (can’t remember) suggested white gouache would be a good way to achieve the same look as the oxide. Have you tried that? I may need to play between laundry loads today!
Your original video of this is what made me subscribe Sandra a while back. I haven't tried this yet as I'm looking round for a set of cheapie WC paints.....
@@angel_on_the_edge8084 I 'm not sure. Possibly, if glycerine was added. You can mix it directly on a sponge applicator though. Just editing a follow up project for it..:)
Thanks for the update! I watched it in Spain when we were there last...BTW, U buy Glycerine and Alcohol from the farmacia, along with pipettes too....I do some art journaling when I am there, so I am always on the loof out for materials...thanks goodness, there's a Chinese Bazaar in the town!
ua-cam.com/video/sEgPj5uiUNg/v-deo.html You may want to check this one out too..yes the glycerine comes from the farmacia, the alcohol is everywhere! Only ONE Chinese Bazaar, not at least 4?? lol
Thank you for the great demonstrations. It was nice that you explained in simple and easy to follow directions how and why you were mixing and applying the paints in the manner that you were. I don't know if you did a video on this or not (I'll check) but how well does this paint mixing technique work on stamps, particularly if an umbré effect is desired?
You are welcome. I also have a more recent version which is very simple and does blend very well in the way you wish...ua-cam.com/video/sEgPj5uiUNg/v-deo.html

Do you think the memento dew drops are a good dupe for distress inks? I don’t have any sort of watercolors! I do have a lot of acrylic paints! A 60 set from Arteza
This is just the video you need:) ua-cam.com/video/sEgPj5uiUNg/v-deo.html using Gouache. If you don't have gouche I would still advise getting some as the dew drops are not really a sub for distress inks.
Thank you i have acrylic paint and water color paints and also some glycerin too, going to have a play with this
Have fun! You can also use Gouache paints, they are already opaque- ua-cam.com/video/sEgPj5uiUNg/v-deo.html
Thank you! I'm going to go play with my paints!
Great demonstration. Learning to explore with various mediums. Thank you for this information. Very thorough.
Thank you
I love DIYs. Thank you, Sandra!
You're welcome!
Interesting! Certainly going to try this.
You should check out my more recent video on Gouache - could save you a fortune!

The white gouache may well work - however, I have recently found something rather interesting...ua-cam.com/video/sEgPj5uiUNg/v-deo.html
Thought there had to be a way to do this...thank you so much!🙂
No problem! This is an old video though, have a look at this and see if it is an easier option for you.ua-cam.com/video/sEgPj5uiUNg/v-deo.html

You don't need to get anything too special, pound shop/dollar shop stuff will do.
@@createinspain would it be possible to put this on a blank InkPad? Would it keep??

Thank you for this! I have 10 distress oxide ink pads but lots more paint!
Lol, I have sooooo many paints, pens etc, I really can't justify buying any more of the latest fads!

It seems like using an acrylic chalk paint with the water color would give it that slightly chalky look that the distress inks have?
Acrylic would dry too fast. If you want chalky look, use gouche instead of watercolour.
Is very good! Thanks a lot
You're welcome.
Pl do a project using this technique
It's on my agenda!
hello!! 🤗 Can you add the subtitles in Spanish? thanks
Think I've done it now......
@@createinspain thank you very much!!!!! 🤗🤩
