    Loving the content mate , I ran a front auto lokka in my old nl pajero fully transformed it offroad and was hands down thr best budget mod I added. I must say it's nice to see content from an everyday aussie who isn't sponsored and builds a rig within the everyday Aussies budget .

    Mint video mate. Great run down showing the process which a lot of others don’t go into such detail. Personally unless they are brand new I would just replace the wheel bearings. They are cheap and the most common fail point on a patrol. Not worth using old bearings. If they are still ok just keep them as spares for when you go on trips.

    Great job as always. Just an FYI on the bearing nut. It needs to be torqued to 167nm - 196nm, spun a few times in both directions, backed off them torqued again to 5nm then locked off. This allows the bearing race to seat and spin freely.

    You'll stop thinking about a rear locker when you experience what a difference this makes. Had a Lockrite in my GU for 11 years, first mod I did from new. At the time it was $400 and I installed it myself no issues. Lokka has same operation as Lockrite.

      Needs to run a bottle of engine oil flush through the rear diff for 500kms then drain and fill with new oil. That will clean up that lsd friction plates making it work almost like factory new again. Patrol plus lsd plus a front lokka = legendary performance 👌👌👌

    Awesome vid..I put a locka the same as yours in the front of my ln 106 and love it..so I put a locka..same brand..goannawhere..in the rear..because it would b tough..take out the LSD and replace with auto locka..BIG mistake if u need to use your vehicle for around town use..6 months later I took it out..because the noises that it made scared the shit out of me..it sounded like I was snapping an axle when u went around roundabouts and other normal driving procedures on the bitumen.. double locka in the bush..awesome....on the black top..bloody terrible..when I took the rear locka out..and inspected..it was in perfect condition..much to my surprise..goannawhere is a tough product..

    Keen to see your thoughts on the lokka. I'm considering one/detroit auto locker for my GU as I've heard a lot of people swear by them over air/e lockers which seem to break..
    P.s. when rebuilding your swivel hubs source the heavy duty inner bearing seal in the hub and the trail safe axle seals. They shit all over the oem seals which just leak and break easily letting in water and forcing you to tear everything apart again in no time.
    Edit just watched vid whole way through and saw you got the right axle seals good stuff.

    • @RoamLyfe

      @@einfelder8262 yea pretty keen. I figure if I'm going 4wd'ing I'm literally doing that so why screw around with switches. • @einfelder8262
      @einfelder8262 2 роки тому +1

      @@Nick-sd7um The autolocker doesn't cause wear, nor does it cause CV damage. I busted a hub once and had to travel the full length of Fulton's Creek Track with only one front driving - pulled a bit to the driven side but still got me out onto Walhalla Rd. The only issue I have found is when reversing uphill on full lock, as when going around downhill switchbacks, it can wind up. Solution is to come off full lock to reduce load on inner wheel a bit then all good. Note that this will also occur with a switchable locker, which may not release if you switch it off under the same load.
