Get yourself a solif piece of copper, hold it behind the hole, then mig it, mig wont stick to copper, eady to fill holes, no matter how big.
just FYI,
Alot of people who weld at home don't do this or know this.
But maintenance, you should really blow compressed air through the hose from time to time to clean out the " Liner " that the wire etc runs through. it's also serviceable part aswell you can replace the liners.
You have to be my favourite GQ builder on UA-cam, you keep doing the simple but awesome mods on the cheap, the wiring relocation is perfect as you said never blown a fuse, and even when I did it was only wiper motor one 😂 defiantly copying that cause I don’t want it in the cab either, Big ups Tommo keep killing it

Bewdiful Tom! Folks are gonna be critical for the fuse biz but youve explained it perfectly for me. The build is looking epic, those wheels are crazy, little bit of tweaking with flares its gonna be mint. Cannot believe how hard you work man, doing this for us, day job, fam - you're a legend man. 👏 ✌️
Just sayin there's not much more in pulling the body off the chasis at this point. Clean it up, new body mounts, maybe some long arms..... the cliff half way down the slippery slope😁

I was a questioner on the last ep: you're right the fuses and relays will be fine where they are, shaved bay looks mad.
I think go a different colour to exterior but surely not gloss black. Gloss black is the cover up colour haha. Maybe Rally white? Or just opposite to the exterior.

Offset and rims looks. Hopefully you can cover them cause in Tassie our gq was defected for neg 30s which are well covered with conveyor belting, but the officious mermaid said track was too wide!

Here’s a suggestion and something I really wanna try with my Ls swapped gq, custom interior, doing away with the hole dash and putting something more modern in like even trying to fit a gu centre dash

I’m sure there’s a little water tight box you could modify to cover the fuses then it’s no worries.
As someone who paints cars for a living, with a shaved bay please go with a metallic colour you won’t regret it.

20c piece fills those big holes nicely.
For the engine bay I suggest do something different like the American JDM cars. Totally different colour to the exterior.

How do you plan on locking hubs in and out with the caps on? Great series been watching everything 👍
Will have to cut the centre of the cap out like the standard caps on a gu
Use a piece of brass as a backer to weld the holes

Notes for building a 4x4: make it harder to get to your fuse box as opposed to having a fuse box with easy access, right got it!

The whole premise of the channel is teaching / sharing. Why would you not share issues with tyre / wheel fitting issues?
That was more a joke but I had to use a set of screw drivers as pry bars, it’s the normal way to do it really !

2 Allen bolts and the cap is off, but it’ll be sitting in the shed for a while so may as well leave the caps on for now
