    Thank you kind Sir,
It is amazing how fast things change, I knew how to do this the old way, and didn't work no more, a few minutes later (a bit of frustration) I started to wonder if something had changed.
Well it did, and thanks to your video, I know how to to it again!!! (The new way)

Cool idea I will take a look at. Been watching your vids and see that you most always convert your text to curves to change spaces (kern) the letters. You do not need to do this!
Just type some text and while you have your text tool still selected, click between the letter pairs you wish to change the kerning of and press and hold the ALT key and the left or right arrows will adjust the horizontal spacing (kerning). Keeping the ALT key pressed and using the up and down keys will change the baseline of the letters. If you need the change to happen faster, then press and hold both ALT and SHIFT at the same time and then use the arrows.
Maybe this tip might be useful
Thank you for the vids. Enjoy learning new things about Inkscape!

Good one! But does it work with only English alphabets? The separation. Glyphs: I tried to place a set of non-English alphabets on curved path on the inside of circle and there was uneven gaps between the letter's baselines.

Really handy, thanks for the info.
The new version seems to have some bugs though:
*Warning: do not use this release if using stars, spirals or boxes! They are not saved properly. A fix is underway*

Is this comment related to version 1.3 or 1.3.1?

@@imdxpertm Not the only issues with 1.3.1. Document metadata has been screwed up since 1.3. If you are using grids, the grid colors and spacing could also be screwed up if you load a document that was created before 1.3.

@@CelticOneDesign That's not good at all. I hope you reported to development team. Martin Owens is a good guy. He and dev. team should be able to fix it .

Brandon, I have successfully punched the text out of circle after it has been wrapped around a path. There are dots between the words but what ever way I do it it will get rid of already done text. I asked you along time ago and forgot the workaround. I did try Object > Mask > Set Inverse.

In order to use inverse masking, the objects have to be paths. Did try doing Object to Path on the text first?

I got too enthusiastic and found that I compounded my errors, so before I put myself into a corner more than what I was in I decided to scrap it, and start afresh. If I can send it to you so you can see what I'm working on it I'd appreciate the feedback. If you look up "Alpha Cement sign" it will give you an idea.@@SweaterCatDesigns
