How to put the pancake cover on rv light
What do you do if the trim ring is attached to the housing inside and need to replace the bulb? Our trim rings aren’t attached by spring clips.
I personally don’t know of any that are all in one. Typically you’ll have the can light housing in the ceiling and then the trim ring, or a retrofit trim light ring that pulls down and there should be two plugs that you disconnect and you would just have to replace the trim ring that has the light inside it.
@@BJPoznecki Yeah, when I tried to pull the trim ring down, I expected to find spring clips. But instead I saw that the trim ring was attached to the housing. At least that’s what it appears to me. If I had a tall enough step ladder I could really see what’s going on. And to see if there’s any screws. All I know is that when I pull down the trim there isn’t any clips and and you don’t have easy access to the bulb. I hope I can figure it out and get a new bulb put in. If you any other suggestions I’d really appreciated. Thank you for the reply.
@@OfficialCesarValdez Your light might not have the clips like you see in the video it may have spring clips that you just have to give the trim ring a good pull towards you to remove it. I’ve never seen a trim ring screwed to the can because then you would never be able to remove it.
@@erickm2010 I had someone check it out, but I wasn’t able to be home to see him work. So I don’t know how he did it. He did tell me later that it did take some effort to get to the bulb. To much effort than it needs to be, just to replace a light bulb. That’s ridiculous. Sorry that I couldn’t be any help. Best of luck to you.
Thanks!
Perfect
Thank you Robert!
thanks
Again, this is not the same kind I have, which must be super rare.
There are different kinds. It’s possible that you could have an enclosed one where the light and the ring are all in one.
Unfortunately that's what I have, the whole unit thing. I can't figure out how to get it outta there. Lots of seemingly unnecessary wires up in there
These covers are a pain in the ass. Everytime I have to change the bulb over my shower? The maker of these gets cussed. I would love to meet some day in my car.
